It’s another comfortable day here in the CatBox, and I completed all my tasks yesterday.  Unfortunately, my brain was still racing, when I went to bed, and it took hours to relax enough to get to sleep.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:06 (average 4:42).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (MSNBC Channel): Four FBI Vets Discuss One Year Of Robert Mueller’s Russia Investigation

Had the FBI been as circumspect about Hillary Clinton as they were about Donald Trump, we would likely have a President. Mueller, from everything I can tell, has Donnie Do-wrong by the short hairs. RESIST!!

From The New Yorker: Donald J. Trump has ordered a replica of the Nobel Peace Prize and is displaying it prominently on his desk in the Oval Office, the White House confirmed on Wednesday.

The replica of the Nobel medallion is mounted on what the White House described as a “tasteful black-velvet background” with an engraved plaque reading, “Donald J. Trump, 2018 Winner.”

At the daily White House briefing, the press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, said that Trump “took the initiative” to award himself the Peace Prize rather than “waiting around” for the Nobel committee, in Oslo, to bestow it on him.

“What with his successes in Syria, Iran, North Korea, and whatnot, the President already knows he’s a lock for the Nobel,” she said. “It’s just a formality at this point."

Great minds fall in the same ditch, Andy. I said this week that the Fuhrer would demand the Nobel Peace Prize for moving the Doomsday Clock closer to Midnight. RESIST!!

From Alternet: President Donald Trump engaged in deeply disturbing rhetoric about immigrants on Wednesday at a Cabinet meeting on immigration, echoing some of the worst and most dangerous language he used on the campaign trail.

"We’re taking people out of the country, you wouldn’t believe how bad these people are," he said. "These aren’t people, they’re animals."

Denying the humanity of certain groups — as well as wildly exaggerating their rates of committing crimes, as the president frequently does — is a rhetorical technique often used to promote racist and bigoted ideas.

The Fuhrer does not set the tone for Republican racism. He merely reflects it. RESIST!!

  1. 6:35 And it might have been a good evolutionary strategy, if it hadn’t been for those darned meddling h. Sapiens!

I sure wish I could send you some of my ability sit in front of the computer and just zone out into sleep for a half hour or so. Well, no, I don’t guess you’d want that, but I wish someone would and could take some.

MSNBC – “Had the FBI been as circumspect about Hillary Clinton as they were about Donald Trump, we would likely have a President.” It really would be difficult to say what we would have. We are in Bizarro World, Upside Down World. While it would have been an error, it’s not inconceivable that someone in the FBI might have felt it was superfluous to be circumspect about the Clinton email investigation, if it were already clear there was nothing to it. Any investigation into Trump could not possibly have looked at any point as though there were nothing to it.

    TNY – So believeable.

AlterNet – Of course, when the drumpster fire’s lips are moving, he is lying. But if you want to get an idea what really is happening, try reading this. Warning: hanky alert.

Cartoon – She looks like too nice a person to be in the Drumpf regime.

  2. MSNBC: The more that dt (and his minions) holler about this, it shows to me, that he’s guilty as hell. Well, we knew that all along though, didn’t we?

*Wired Magazine has an excellent article on Bob Mueller, re: this. here’s the link: https://www.wired.com/story/4-key-takeaways-from-muellers-first-yearand-whats-next/

There’s also an article on his service in Vietnam there too. Lengthy, but very good about the man in charge. NYer: Yea, I can see him (dt) doing this…ugh! lol, Andy.

AN: Hitler said the same word to refer to Jews. What a horrible thing to say, but he’s says stuff every day like this, it seems, now.

Cartoon: She was, Joanne, I agree. She is ranked as the top-ranking female villain for her performance in the Wizard of Oz. On a lighter note, she was a former schoolteacher, who gained recognition for her work as an advocate of causes designed to benefit children and animals, and retained a lifelong commitment to public education. *wiki btw: dt will never attain that status. Ever.

Well….we had our first fire here for 2018, about 15 miles away, a truck’s chains were dragging on the road. It’s contained now, thank the Lord. Hope that you have a relaxing evening, take care, & Thanks, Tom.

    • I had the good fortune to see her live in “A Little Night Music” at the Kennedy Center once.  I actually didn’t recognize her in the photo here without the green, which made her look much less nice.  But yes, she was a real lady.

      • What a great memory! Joanne. 01
My father talked about her every once in a while, and said that she was a ‘lovely lady’. Idk if he ever met her, but he gave her Kudos, and talked approvingly of her.

  3. Witch hunt? Qui parle!

  4. “…trump “took the initiative” to award himself the Peace Prize rather than “waiting around” for the Nobel committee, in Oslo, to bestow it on him.”
    Surely you jest?!?!?

TC get yourself some Chamomile, brew yourself a pot, stir in honey & down it ☕ before you hit the sack, i promise a very sound night’s sleep follows, without drowsiness the following morning! ?

  5. MSNBC: Sounds good to me.May Mueller and his team thrive, and do so for a long time!
New Yorker: So…he’ll put it next to his “Man of the Year!” bogus award?  I’m thinking Kim Jong-un is claiming a possible non-meeting with Dumpy, to burst his Nobel posturing?
Alternet: Dumpy comes from a line of dirtbags, but, yes, he just reflects the GOPIG view of “We the people.”
‘Toon: I am anticipating the day that we can look Dumpy in the eye, and say “Yeah, witch hunt, and guess who they caught?”

  6. MsNBC: Timing is everything in these investigation, so I imagine that Mueller and his investigators want to avoid any mistakes in timing with such dreadful consequences and takes all the time he needs to do a thorough job. But then he can do that as a special prosecutor with a mandate, were he still the director of the FBI he wouldn’t have been able to draw things out this long,.

TNY: Actually, Andy, Drumpf has had two replica’s made: one for the Oval Office so that everyone who comes in there can admire him, and one for the night stand next to his bed so he can remind himself how great he is first thing in the morning and admire himself. It doesn’t matter he doesn’t deserve the Nobel Peace Prize in our reality; in his reality he deserves it twice over.

Alternet: You are absolutely spot on, TomCat. On immigration, as on so many other subjects, Drumpf is merely a mouthpiece of the GOP. When Drumpf is removed from office one way or another, Pence will not speak of immigrants as animals but use a more diplomatic language to convey the same depersonalized image which appeals to the Republican base.

    Cartoon: Excellent!

  7. Puzzle — 3:46  Pretty flower!  Pretty pollen machine!

MSNBC — I am not saying that the FBI is perfect, as after all, it is comprised of human beings.  But Drumpf and his allies are way out in right field in attacking the FBI and the DOJ.  They have absolutely to respect for the law whatsoever.  They only court the law when it is to their advantage.

The New Yorker — I believe that Drumpf would actually do this.  His narcissism is beyond the pale! . . . way beyond . . .

AlterNet — “The Fuhrer does not set the tone for Republican racism. He merely reflects it.” — That maybe so, but when are We The People going to kick the really bad people, the Republicans, out???

Cartoon — Great photoshop of Drumpf as the Wicked Witch from Oz!  He’s scarier even without the green makeup than Margaret Hamilton with her green makeup!  Maybe it is the orange!

OMG, the temperature has dropped!  Isn’t that glorious!!!  Right now it is about 17C (63F) and cloudy but no rain.  No rain yet but there is supposed to be some over the weekend.  And like all good plans, this is a long weekend for us — Victoria Day.  It is traditionally the beginning of the spring/summer growing season and the first camping weekend but the earlier hot weather rather changed that.  I found someone to go on that 3 night stay in Whistler with me.  Her mother, Molly, and mine were good friends at the care centre until they didn’t recognise each other.  Molly passed away at the end of January and her daughter, Maureen, still has her father to look after (he is now in care) and a developmentally disabled adult daughter.  I thought a few nights to herself were in order.  Now all I need are the details of the get-away and to set a date with Maureen.

  8. Thanks all.  TGIF Hugs!! 22
