Yesterday I went to my Prosthetist, and I’m pleased to report that once again, George is a happy camper.  It was the warmest day of the year to date, and I had to button up the room, turn on the A/C and leave it on all night, because the superheated brickwork on my wall was still radiating heat at midnight.  Not used to the A/C yet, I slept poorly and am feeling worn out.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:09 (average 4:54).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (Parody Project Channel): YOU WANNA LIE US INTO WAR – (Parody of) Don’t Come Around Here No More

Vietnam, Iraq, and all wars in between are a pattern we must break. RESIST!!

From YouTube (MSNBC Channel): DNC Files Lawsuit Against Trump Camp, Others Over 2016 Hack

I look forward to the lawsuit’s discovery process. RESIST!!

From The New Yorker: The White House announced on Thursday that Donald Trump had successfully secured the services of Rudolph Giuliani, after an exhaustive search for an attorney with fewer clients than Michael D. Cohen.

“President Trump had become concerned in recent days that Mr. Cohen might be too distracted to pay full attention to his case, what with him having two other clients and all,” Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the White House press secretary, said. “So the search was on for a lawyer with zero clients, and with the hiring of Mayor Giuliani, the President believes he has hit the jackpot.”

Andy, may Giuliani give the Fuhrer the representation he deserves. RESIST!!

  1. 4:52 Maybe Squatch can save him.

I have snow of my own today. There may be drifts of up to an inch, but I doubt it. Some of it will melt but probably not all.

Well, this is – interesting. The Columbia School of Journalism appears to be doing for journalism what the Cornell Law School is doing for law – making information available at a single site. There doesn’t seem to be any dispute about the facts in this case, but the handling was …

PP – More Genius! (Have I commented on how high class the initials of Parody Project are?)

Rachel – The obvious reason for Sessions resigning under the circumstances that Rosenstein’s firing would put Sessions in direct supervision of Mueller, and Sessions is rightly recused from the matters under investigation by Mueller. But “in protest” also works for me. WRT the lawsuit, today, we just about could make something sneaky, malicious, and underhanded and file a suit about it, and the odds are they would actually be doing it – or something worse. (How they expected even their own people to trust an organization acronymed CREEP is still beyond me.)

TNY – Beautiful! Seriously, I suspect Giuliani will in fact give him just what you wish. Not so much because he’s a snake, but because he believes his own bovine excrement.

Cartoon – Hand looks too big (and not quite straight enough).

  2. PPC: Good song! Yea, the ‘gig is up’ NO MORE!!!

MSNBC: Great news!!! Glad to see that they’ve filed. Stay tuned, y’all.

    NYer: LOL, Andy!!

    Cartoon: Ick! Scary!

Get your rest, take good care, and Thanks, Tom.

  3. PPC: Cool!   But, what’s with that beard?
Maddow: We will see what we will see.
New Yorker: Yeah, Rudi gonna wrap this up real quick!  Jackass!
‘Toon: Boy, wouldn’t he just love that?

    • Someone more knowledgeable and a better lawyer than Rudy commented that “the only way to wrap it up in two weeks would be with a plea bargain.”  Frankly I think even that is optimistic … I would love to find out whether a plea bargain could actually be done that fast, but alas, we won’t.

  4. PP: My thoughts are next to yours in that ditch, Joanne. Both on genius and initials. ? I’m quite sure Tom Petty would have supported this great parody from start to finish.

Rachel Maddow: She’s brilliant on detail again: the judge the DNC filed this lawsuit with was an Assistant Special Prosecutor on the Watergate case. Whatever you think of the DNC and this lawsuit, they sure know how to pick their judges. The media didn’t quite know what to do with this lawsuit when news first came out, but now more has become known, many see it as an insurance that investigations will continue if Drumpf fires Mueller, Rosenstein, Sessions… In fact, it may actually deter him from doing so (if he listens to anyone left with any sense at all). Rachel doesn’t mention the amounts people are sued for, but almost everyone in the Drumpf family is sued, so fighting this may take a big financial chunk out of their empire and even more if they’re made to pay. Let’s hope this judge takes it on.

TNY: You’d think that Drumpf would get a good defense  lawyer, even in the unlikely event he/she didn’t have one client to his/her name. Giuliani isn’t and wasn’t a defense lawyer, but is a former top official at the Justice Department and served as the United States attorney in Manhattan. But at age 73 he no longer has any reputation as a powerhouse white-collar litigator. He’s probably brought in to see if he can use his decades-long ties with Mr. Mueller to re-build a working relationship with the special counsel’s team which Drumpf blew up after the FBI raided Cohen. (from NYT)

Cartoon: Remember when Drumpf asked his audience to swear allegiance to him during his campaign? Looks like that gave occasion to this photo-op.

  5. Thanks all.  Tired Hugs! 19

  6. I must have forgotten to save my comment. . . again!  I have been copying my comments before submitting because I was losing them.  Now it seems I forget to save them after I copy them.  Arrggghhhh!!!!!

Puzzle — 3:16 Sorry I could not save him JD. However, having been pecked this week by Laura the love bird who knows me and is much smaller than the hornbill, Puddy Tat you are in for a real fight if you try get him into the cooking pot! Power to the birdies!!!

Parody Project — Yet another brilliant piece!!! His work should also garner a Pulitzer Prize. This is not at all meant as a criticism of Kendrick Lamar’s Pulitzer for his album “Damn” which was legitimately earned, but an “also”.

MSNBC — Does anyone else hear the tsunami heading up the Potomac towards the WH and the Congress? We have talked about the comparisons between Watergate and the Russia scandal for some time now. I think it might be time to call it Russiagate. Rachel did her usual excellent presentation lining up the facts. I love how the judge hearing the case was a prosecutor on the Watergate case. Whether Sessions will keep his word to resign if Rosenstein is canned by Drumpf has yet to be seen, but the gnome is certainly attached to the power and money of his position. With all the bull shit he has taken from Drumpf until now, I can see why he might want to wiggle out. The US is so close to a constitutional crisis, it
    is palpable.

The New Yorker — “…may Giuliani give the Fuhrer the representation he deserves.” … yeah, straight to a federal prison for life, and not a club fed prison. Somewhere the toilets are not gold and someone watches you! Giuliani join his client.

Cartoon — There is an interesting article that I read today equating the likelihood of certain conditions/traits to birth month and season. Babies born between 21/03 and 21/06 are spring babies. A higher percentage of spring babies have the propensity for being dictators. Drumpf’s birthday is 14/06 so he fits right in! The highest month for dictators is . . . you guessed it . . . April! Hitler’s was 2 days ago so he definitely fits in!

Well your green cloud reached Metro Vancouver yesterday! And with it, a dose of Republicosis! I always thought that rings were to be worn on fingers. I ended up with a ring on my butt! Thanks for the green cloud Puddy Tat! You will get your reward someday!
