I’m hurrying, because I have to leave for my Prosthetist appointment for George.  This is my only article today, and if I don’t get it up before I go, I shall do so on my return.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:55 (average 4:58).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (Inequality Media Channel): Should You Vote for a Third Party?

How many times have I said the exact same thing? RESIST!!

From The Rachel Maddow Show: Comey memos immediately leaked after FBI delivers to Congress

Former FBI Director James Comey talks with Rachel Maddow about the notes he took after meeting with Donald Trump, which have now leaked to the public after they were delivered by the FBI to Congress.

Click through for the rest of Rachel’s interviews with Comey. Of course Republicans leaked the memos. They hope to taint the evidence. RESIST!!

From NY Times: Rudolph W. Giuliani, the former New York City mayor and longtime friend of President Trump, will join the president’s legal team in an effort to “quickly” resolve the special counsel investigation into Russian election interference and possible ties to Trump associates.

Mr. Trump will also bring on Jane Serene Raskin and Martin R. Raskin, former federal prosecutors based in Florida, according to Mr. Trump’s lawyer Jay Sekulow. Mr. Giuliani is himself a former federal prosecutor.

Dang! The Fuhrer’s legal problems can now be summarized in just two words: “nine eleven”. RESIST!!

  1. 5:26 I was’t worried about saving him since he’s paper.

Best wishes to you, George, and Stumpy.

RR – Heck, I remember all the way back to Joohn Anderson (Who could forget Ross Perot either?) Ranked choice voting could have changed all of those elections. Of course it wouldn’t help in every election, but it certainly would make a huge difference overall and could definitely change trends. Probably why the very rich don’t seem to like it.

RMS – Can’t see it. But did find it on YouTube.
Most of us already knew that Congress cannot be trusted. Now there is proof. So now we have – maybe – the option of going to court to prevent Congress from getting anything else. I realize that is contingent of people continuing to be in appropriate positions who will have the will to go to court. beyond that, just grieving for what used to be my country. Here is one sequel [with Lawrence]

It goes to address Comey’s credibility. There is more but I haven’t yet found those segments.

NYT – Well, sort of like “man bites dog.” The rat is jumping ON to the sinking ship. It’s fascinating that the party of screaming bout death threats is so trusting as to do things that in other times and places could well have triggered their assassination. By and large they CAN trust liberals not to shoot them on sight, because that is not what we do. Maybe they have at some level some connection to reality after all.

    Cartoon – Yeah.  Barf.

  2. IMC: Word!!!! I’m all for Ranked choice voting, I’m sure we’ll see a positive choice for this too.

RMS: How low can one go, to leak information, to which I have doubt it was a republicon, with the majority in agreement. No integrity whatsoever!!

NYT: Repeat after me….Fire, Hire, Fire, Hire, …..etc!!!

    Cartoon: ICK !!!!

Best to you and George for a speedy repair, and to and from home. Take good care, Thanks, Tom.

    • Apparently it was Trey Gowdy who did the leaking, and it was 40 minutes after the memos were received, which  almost certainly means no one read them before leaking.  (It was not Gowdy they were handed to, so some of that 40 minutes was getting them from Nunes or whoever to Gowdy, and probably staff were involved in the transfer.)  I still haven’t found any more YouTube videos, but at Daily Kos there’s a very short article with lots of comments including various alternate ways to see the full show. There’s a full transcript HERE.

      I LOL’ed at

MADDOW: That would be an unusual first call between new heads of state, a congratulatory phone call to be bragging about the relative value of each country’s hookers would be an unusual –
      COMEY: I think that’s a fair statement.

  3. New topic – Oh, Sweet Holy MERDE !!!!

But here’s a ranked choice voting petition to at least try to help prevent this in the future.

  4. IMC: Never heard of it before, but I LIKE it!  I have no patience for those who think/thought that voting for a 3rd choice, in 2106, was going to “send a message!”
Maddow: The GOPIGS seem capable of nothing, any longer, but scamming, any which way they can.  May they leak membership in congress, bigly!
NYT: “America’s mayor” has given up the last traces of any semblance of being a “Good guy!”
‘Toon: Someone please go ask Pat Robertson why God did not give this POS childhood cancer, since Roberson “knows” why He gives it to others!  Slimeball!

  5. IM: Australia has a system for ranked voting, but a lot of people found it either too difficult or to cumbersome and put down just one vote. So, next to mandatory voting, some states have introduced mandatory ranking, some making people rank at least 5 candidates because they needed so many rounds to determine the winner in the last election. But you can’t make people interested in politics that way, because it means they have to follow at least five campaigns to make an informed choice and ranking, and many people are just put off by that. Because it mandatory, people just pick the one candidate they really like and randomly pick the others or leave it all blank and just fulfil their duty. All in all, the best thing is to get people interested in politics again and make use of their voting rights, as is happening in America. Sadly it takes a Drumpf and his administration to make them see how important each and every one of their votes is.

Rachel Maddow: Couldn’t watch it, but thanks to Joanne ? I didn’t have to go looking and got the gist anyway. From here, it looks like the Republicans are so desperate to stop Mueller in his tracks that they set up the most stupid traps and then step into them themselves. I think there’s little doubt that Rosenstein discussed which memo’s to release with Mueller to make sure none of them would taint the investigation. If they had, the Republicans would then have had Rosenstein’s head on a plate, while now it should be their heads for threatening Rosenstein with impeachment. Leaking them was the next stupid thing to do, because now we all can see there’s nothing there that isn’t already spoken off by Comey when questioned in the Senate or in his book, which he had screened by the FBI. If anything, we now know – again – that Republicans are the biggest leakers of all. Of course with Nunes (hadn’t he recused himself?) being part of this ‘gang’ we could have expected nothing less.

NYT: Giuliani? That is spelled D.E.S.P.E.R.A.T.E, right?

    Cartoon: ?

  6. Thanks all.  Pooped hugs! 35
