Happy Spring.  The social worker left, and I’ll have the results in a few days.  It was muggy last night, and I didn’t sleep well, so please pardon my brevity.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:15 (average 5:00): To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (MSNBC Channel): Tyler: Trump Will ‘Fire Mueller Before He Can Get To Any Tangential Issues’

I’m following-up on yesterday’s article. This is exactly what I said. RESIST!!

From Washington Post: Three students including a gunman were injured after a shooting in a hallway at Great Mills High School in Southern Maryland Tuesday morning, according to the sheriff’s office.

The three are said to be in critical condition. The shooter was a student at the school, according to officials.

St. Mary’s County Sheriff Timothy K. Cameron said the shooting occurred shortly after classes began around 8 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Cameron said a male and female student were shot by a gunman, who was also a student at the school. He said the Sheriff’s Office is not identifying the gunman at this point.

The shooter is now dead.  It’s way to early to say more, except that this is what will keep happening if the Ammosexual NRA and their Republican lackeys keep preventing common sense gun control. RESIST!!

From TPM: The Senate Intelligence Committee, as part of its ongoing Russia probe, released a draft summary on Tuesday of its recommendations to address to improve election cybersecurity ahead of the 2018 midterms.

Click through to read them. I agree with all but #1, and they are desperately needed. RESIST!!

  1. 4:51 And that is why sailing far from land on wind power alone was (and is) dangerous.

MSNBC – There may well be no response from the Republican leadership, but there are citizen demonstrations all over the nation set up. Sites have been chosen, people people have signed up to show up on minimal notice. I would have myself if I were not mobility challenged. Of course what that may lead to is anyone’s guess.

WaPo – Thank heaven the victims were injured, not killed. Must not have been an AR-15.

TPM – We also need an updated, strengthened version of the Voting Rights Act. Desperately.

Cartoon – I can’y even come up with an analogy for what the GOP might think constitutes “racial balance.” That is just a total Republican oxymoron.

  2. If tRump does fire Mueller, that will prove how paranoid he is.

  3. MSNBC: Hiding behind the Twit sphere is not doing him well in this arena. The repugs have no spine to stand up to dt.

WP: Very, very concerning, our schools are now ‘war zones’. Sad, as are the 5 explosions in Texas, by a serial bomber.

    Here’s another link: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2018/03/20/explosion-fedex-facility-texas/440810002/

    TPM: Glad they released this.

    Cartoon: They’d love it!

Happy 1st day of Spring! It was quite chilly this morning. But…anything below 70 is cold to me. lol. Hope you have a restful evening, take care, and Thanks, Tom.

  4. YT/MSNBC: Damn it!  tDump did NOT write “The Art of the Deal,”and its author came out famously, saying that he wound up “Putting lipstick on a pig!”  She keeps asking “Why?” will the GOPIGS allow the firing…is she for real?  AS long as he’s president, they get to do whatever the heck they please, with no caring about the consequences!  And she’s amazed that the GOPIG leadership has been silent?  tDump has, apparently, been unleashed, and will go on a rampage, and then blame anyone else he can find! That damned book has led us to this!  Without the book, he never gets on CBS, and is just a clown in some corner of New York, licking Russian boots in the shadows!

  5. MSNBC: It really is starting to look like Drumpf will have Mueller fired, he just doesn’t know how to do it yet. But one of these days, in the very near future, Mueller will have Drumpf appear before him and Drumpf will fire him in a panic, regardless of what his advisers tell him. And as most of us concurred with, Republicans will allow it to happen. And after that? I can only repeat what I’ve said yesterday and hope for a peaceful resolution:
“I hope Republicans realize they already have a large portion of people, who might not even be politically minded or active, against them because they fail to do anything about reasonable gun control. If they then let Drumpf get away with obstruction and demolition of the Rule of Law on top of that, they’ll tear the country apart and who knows where that will lead? A cycle of more and more violent demonstrations after the first peaceful demonstrations were squelched by ammosexuals and SWAT teams alike? Riots? Anything could happen when enough is enough.”

WP: What is there to say/ This is exactly what everyone predicted would happen. One down, how many more to go?

TPM: Unexpected, but nice work here, guys. But back to the drawing board and think how to stop Cambridge Analytica and Facebook from meddling with people’s minds.

Cartoon: With pharmaceutical companies holding out on drugs used in executions, the guillotine may soon be instated in some states, with that exact aim in mind.

I’m on my way to recovering from the onslaught yesterday, but my smile is much the better for it. Though Mueller being fired and the investigation terminated could have the same effect on me and wipe that smile from my face again.

  6. Puzzle — 3:42  Partay!!!

MSNBC — Unfortunately, I think that Tyler is correct.  Congressional Republicans will do NOTHING to rein in Drumpf or protect the Mueller investigation.  This from Politico:

Drumpf is the Liar-in-Chief and there is a good reason why Ryan is known as Lyin’ Ryan.  As Politico posits, why haven’t Republicans even proposed legislation to protect Mueller?

WaPo — To paraphrase Bob Dylan

“How many times must a student die

Before gun control laws are passed?

The answer my friend is blowin’ in the wind,

The answer is blowin’ in the wind.”

TPM — Here in Canada, we have Elections Canada, a non partisan body which administers all federal elections and related issues like the drawing of electoral boundaries.  No political party activity.  Here in BC, we have Elections BC for our provincial elections which runs on similar guidelines.  To have individual states responsible for federal elections in their state promotes inequality of the vote and is asinine.

Cartoon — Balance?  Get rid of the ORANGE “race”.

I was about to post my comment last night when my internet went down.  Arrggghhhh!  This is a quick approximation.  I am trying to get ready for physio and a busy day of a podiatrist appointment and teaching.

  7. Thanks all!  Pooped hugs! 19
