I’m off for my fasting labs soon and am rushing to write as much as I can get done before I leave.

Back and pooped.  I was in the Lift Bus for 2 hours.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 5:06 (average 7:10).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (Late Show Channel): Chris Hayes On Trump-Russia Allegations: Why Is Everyone Acting Guilty?

Seeing Chris in a reversed role is interesting. RESIST!!

From YouTube (MSNBC Channel): International Women’s Day Observed Around The Globe

Kudos to women everywhere! RESIST!!

From NY Times: North Korea’s leader, Kim Jong-un, has invited President Trump to meet for negotiations over its nuclear program, an audacious diplomatic overture that would bring together two strong-willed, idiosyncratic leaders who have traded threats of war.

The White House said that Mr. Trump had accepted the invitation, and Chung Eui-yong, a South Korean official who conveyed it, told reporters that the president would meet with Mr. Kim within two months.

“He expressed his eagerness to meet President Trump as soon as possible,” Mr. Chung said at the White House on Thursday evening after meeting the president. Mr. Trump, he said, agreed to “meet Kim Jong-un by May to achieve permanent denuclearization.”

First, I hope they aren’t left alone together, because Donnie Tiny Hands, etc. would be intellectually outclassed. Also, I think the only reason Trump accepted the meeting is that Kim must have given him grabbing privileges on Kim’s Army of Beauties. RESIST!!

  1. 6:49 I understand dahlias are quite tricky to grow … or at least to grow well.

A serious feel-good story (with cats even)

Chris – Someone pointed out that stupid criminals do act guilty. Smarter ones are able to dissemble. But that requires skill (such as the skill to fake empathy) and this regime doesn’t have it.

Women – There was a conversation in comments (paraphrased): “Happy International Women’s Day to all women. Where I live it is customary to say this.” “Where do you love? No one where I live ever says a word.”

NYT – The thing that everyone seems to be missing, it seems to me, is HOW IN THE WORLD DID CHUNG ACCOMPLISH THIS? Maybe HE should be our President! God knows we could use someone who can work miracles.

Cartoon – Yup. Here we go again.

  2. LSC: I enjoy watching and listening to Chris, It was nice to see him on Cobert’s show.

MSNBC: Loved this! 575 women have declared their intention to run for the House, the Senate, or Governor. WooHoo! Right on, Ladies! We got the power! Kudos to all Ladies here too.

NYT: I can just see dt getting off the plane with his smile, waving to the masses….and being complacent in this situation/meeting. Hell, he’s probably better off in N. Korea than being home, after Mr. Mueller keeps on with his investigation(s). Sadly, they won’t want him either. lol

Cartoon: Awful, and so sad. It’s a cruel word now. I pray that History does not repeat itself, with dt in the office.

Glad you got home all right, (that’s a long time though). Hope all your testing comes back positive too. Get your rest, relax, and take good care, enjoy your evening, and Thanks, Tom.

  3. MSNBC: Ladies rock!
NYT: I expect that Donny Boy will find a reason to abort the meeting.
‘Toon: Damn, don’t give the GOPIGS any new ideas!

  4. Stephen Colbert: Interesting indeed to see Chris Hayes being interviewed for once and, not bound by a script for a show, giving us some of his theories and thoughts. Chris is a professional and won’t slander or create false facts of course, but he he opted some very interesting ideas for more collusion between the White House and Russia.

MSNBC: Good to see so much women join in celebrating Women’s Day around the globe, sad that it took so much women to suffer before that threshold was reach, but we’re getting unstoppable now and we’ll get there. Powerful message by Danai Gurira.

NYT: Drumpf hear what he wanted to hear in Kim Jong-un’s message, saw a great photo opportunity and a way to divert the press from all the scandals, allegations and investigations and accepted to meet without consulting any of his advisers (again). This is of course an indication of how this summit would go: Drumpf arriving at the at the table, completely unprepared but for what Faux New told him that morning, and thinking he can bully Kim Jong-un into a deal. If it ever gets to a summit, because the White House is already backtracking, asserting that Kim Jong-un needs to de-nuke before a meeting can take place. Yeah, right. Kim Jong-un already has a victory to placate his people with: Drumpf accepting his invitation unconditionally, backtracking will now only make him stronger.

Cartoon: And around and around we go…

Take the weekend to recuperate, TomCat.

  5. I hope that at least the 2 hours on the bus was coming AND going.

  6. Puzzle — 5:03  I like the colours!

Late Night — If it walks like a duck, quakes like a duck, then it must be Drumpf and the Republicans.  Ducks have more empathy!  Quite different, but enjoyable, seeing Chris on the other side.

MSNBC — Benazir Bhutto, Indira Gandhi, Golda Meir — just 3 strong women in leadership in our times, but not the only ones.  There are and have been many other women who have provided strong leadership in government, business, science, academics and the list goes on.  Here is a short video that makes my point.

NY Times — And now the WH is saying that Drumpf was just babbling when he agreed to the summit.  I would like to think that a summit could accomplish a lot, but I won’t hold my breath.  At best, Drumpf is a loose cannon subject to fits of bullying, lying and stupidity.  That assumes there is a “worst” option, but I am not exactly sure what it is.

Cartoon — The pattern that the Republicans copied!

Rest up Puddy Tat . . . the war is not over!
