SNL – In this, Will Ferrell justifies his existence. Perfect. I’m so glad too the enablers were brought into the discussion, as well as the Supreme Court.
PP – Well, not just a spouse – friends too. And, for those who have family, family. Reminiscent of the Civil War – no wholesale bloodshed yet, but I wouldn’t rule it out.
DKos – Plenty of deserving assholes out there, but I agree, he’s the most.

Added later: Of all the dumb things to happen on account of the internet but NOT (apparently) caused by malice, just plain stupidity and failure to consider security at even the most basic level, this fitness tracker thing has got to be the most – most – I can’t think of the exact word – irresponsible isn’t serious enough. SNL: You know the country is really in the dumps when you start to long for the times of the worst president in history. But…but…but…that surely is Drumpf? No, he’ll go down in history as a criminal, a racist, a colluder, a pussy grabber, an obstructor of justice…anything really. Anything but a president.
PP: Do you think we’ll ever see the time when we get #Ididtoo where women come out and confess that their reason for divorce was their husband being a die-hard Republican Drumpf voter?
DK: Hubby and I had our giggling moment again when our news showed this clip of Drumpf in Davos:
Then we felt embarrassed for America. Drumpf really has made it the laughingstock of the world and people are now openly showing their disdain for him.
Funny thing though, when I look up Drumpf’s videos on YouTube, Republican agents have already been hard at work, placing some heavily edited versions of the same videos on there with some robot commenting how well (as a rockstar!) Drumpf was received, how he ruled Davos and how liberals won’t admit to that. Then they have these robots cricking up the views and likes, making sure theirs are the first you get to see. I then really have to dig deep to find the unedited one I know are there. The Republican (Russian?) trolls are really hard at work everywhere, the managed to get theirs on first view spots every time I looked.
Cartoon: There is a wonderful 4-part documentary series on BBC1 right now, called Six Wives with Lucy Worsley giving a modern and more feminist view of Henry and his 6 wives. The political intrigue at Henry’s court which cost some of his wives their head and forced others into his bed is bewildering and calls the White House at this moment in time to mind.
At the time of Henry VIII, the patriarchy was in full swing, and no one so much as looked at it, let alone questioned it. In the Trump White House, the patriarchy is back in full swing. It’s only baffling to those of us who have been questioning it for decades, with some good effect (which the patriarchs can’t abide, of course.) So your comment is right on point.

Daily Kos — I saw this in AlterNet first the other day. I must admit that the situation was described as “Lustily booed” and “a loud stream of boos” but it was not that loud . . . but certainly it was well deserved! Now distance from any microphone would make a big difference. In any case, just the fact that it happened shows that Drumpf is a clear and present danger to freedom of the press and democracy. Calling him an asshole, which I have done repeatedly, no longer seems adequate. Even a f***ing asshole is no longer adequate. I just don’t know where the expletives will stop!
Cartoon — When I think about Henry VIII, I think of the 60s song by Herman Hermits “I’m Henry the 8th, I am”. Being a history person, I have read a fair amount about Henry VIII and his lineage which includes Elizabeth I of course. When the right wing nut jobs start talking about the Founding Fathers intending to create a Christian state, it is the religion wars in Britain from Henry’s time forward that informed their desire for freedom of religion.
