It’s another super muggy day, and I’m very tired, because I slept intermittently last night.  So please pardon my brevity.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:09 (average 4:37).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (Jimmy Kimmel Channel): The Porn Donald Trump Doesn’t Want You to See

Barf Bag Alert!!

Frankly, I don’t believe it. It overrated his performance. RESIST!!

From Daily Kos: Republican senators Joni Ernst and Chuck Grassley have been back home in Iowa to hold small town halls in rural areas, places they probably thought would be ‘safe spaces’ from angry voters. WRONG. The rural voters who turned out were not happy with Donald Trump and they unloaded on Ernst and Grassley. In one particularly embarrassing moment for Sen. Ernst in Red Oak, Iowa (population 5,476), she drew laughter and scorn.

Pig Nuts Barf Bag Alert!!

Joni Pig Nuts is too stupid to know that both Sweden and Finland are between Norway and Russia. RESIST!!

From NY Times: It was a made-for-TV moment, perfect for a presidential campaign advertisement.

His fists clenched and his voice rising, Senator Cory Booker, Democrat of New Jersey, delivered a 10-minute verbal thrashing to Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen this week, recalling his “tears of rage” when he learned that President Trump had used vulgarities to describe African nations.

Not to be outdone, Senator Kamala Harris, Democrat of California, who was seated next to Mr. Booker, also skewered Ms. Nielsen, suggesting that Americans could draw a “reasonable inference” that she is racist.

The next presidential election is nearly three years away, but in the Capitol the race is already unfolding, with no fewer than six senators — Mr. Booker and Ms. Harris, Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, Bernie Sanders of Vermont, Kirsten E. Gillibrand of New York and Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota — eyeing the Democratic nomination in 2020, with each angling to get to the left of the others.

Personally I think this is premature. Our eyes need to be focused on 2018, not 2020. RESIST!!

  1. 4:40 Not enough info to determine species, or whether it’s toxic. But even a non-toxic one would have made my furbabes barf.

Comment on a Raw Story article by Disqus user dixonsteele (almost certainly no relation): “I’ve wondered what happened to Ryan’s balls. Now I know. An Italian grandmother from San Francisco keeps them in her purse.”

Just in case anyone missed the WONDERFUL tourism ad that Zambia got out of our dictator’s comments:

    Kimmel – Barf emoticon.

Ernst – Grassley got hit too. Hooray for Iowans! (But the very top of Norway does reach over, past the northern borders of Sweden and Finland, and touch some territory that appears to belong to Russia. Not that she knew that. Ignorance just got lucky this time.)

NYT – Premature indeed! It’s even premature to think about eliminating. 2018 is critically important!!!

Cartoon – Well, of course not! Even HE probably knows he’d fail.

  2. YT(JKC) Yep, for once tRump actually paid someone. (Say, are those really underpants – or a diaper?) Speaking of porno – can anybody possibly think of anything that would be more obscene than the Orange Ogre naked?

DK: More evidence not so much that the GOP is coming apart at the seams as of just how unstitched those seams have become.

NYT: The Dumbocrats are going to have to return to their progressive roots if they want to kick Rethuglican butt this fall.

    Cartoon: All too friggin’ true!

  3. BBA: Barf !!!

DK: Good for those Iowans who stood up to her bullsheetery !!! lol

NYT: The time is ripe for all of us to stand up, fight for our right(s)!! WTG, to those fellow Dems who make their presence known.

    Cartoon: Darn tootin’!!

Get your rest, enjoy your evening, and take good care, Tom. Thanks.

  4. Kimmel: Too real.  Orange ogre naked? S**thole, there goes my appetite for supper, thanks, Freya!
DK: Sweden and Finland?  Just minor details?.
NYT: Too soon, indeed, if this is the beginning of the push, about which you may very well be correct!  Nonetheless, resistance to the s**thole president is welcome any time.
    ‘Toon: Form?  What’s a form?

  5. Jimmy Kimmel: I’ve been watching a few very recent clips of Stephen Colbert,, Seth Meyers and even Jimmy Fallon, and the way they bash Drumpf is very similar to Kimmel’s: no restrictions and all out. The same can be said for political cartoons. Drumpf, aided by Republicans, has managed what no other American president has managed before: have a country lose all respect for the Presidential Office. All that has happened over the course of a year; I don’t think Kimmel’s “porn clip” would have aired a year ago.

DK: Hope to see a lot more clips of people standing up to Drumpf, and Republican sock puppets like Ernst and Grassley. Their stupidity and perfidy equals Drumpf’s and scorn and laughter should be all they are getting.

NYT: Amen to your comment, TomCat. Way too early to start cat-fights among Democratic presidential wannabees. Now is the time to unite and fight the Republican Reich in 2018.

Cartoon: Nope, because he knows he hasn’t got a White House staff to coach him through filling in the right answers to a test or form.

  6. Norway does actually have a common border with Russia, though it’s quite short.

  7. Puzzle — 4:17  Such a beautiful butterfly with iridescent blue on its wings.  Too beautiful to eat Puddy Tat!

Jimmy Kimmel — Just the thought of this makes my skin crawl!  How revolting!

Daily Kos — I read this a couple of days ago followed by an article about Snake in the Grassley’s town hall.  Yeah, it was good to see her squirm and good to note that her district seems to be trending a little bluer.  Likewise, Grassley squirmed a lot at his and was challenged.  The pair are useless partisan hacks . . . but then, they are Republicans.

NY Times — Oooo, some Republican barbecue! . . . although the meat is rather rancid!  I agree that 2018 is the most important time on the radar, but I think these potential Democrat candidates for 2020 would do well to campaign for 2018 Democratic candidates for Congress . . . take some leadership!

Cartoon — Of course not.  He thinks he’s above all this bureaucratic BS!  He’s a Republican after all.

The past 2 days were very busy days with physio, teaching and a shitload of appointments, so getting in to comment has been almost impossible.  I had my annual eye exam and while my distance vision is not as good as it has been necessitating glasses for distance, my short distance is just fine with no change.  The best news though, there are no complications from diabetes!  Hope you are able to get some sleep Puddy Tat!  I get my best sleep when I take Trazadone before bed and it is non addictive.

  8. Thanks all.  Totally pooped hugs! 19
