It’s another day with record high temperatures and 90%+ humidity.  It looks like I’ll have to wait a week for seasonable weather to return and I slept poorly.  Tomorrow and Sunday are High Holy days in the Church of the Ellipsoid Orb.  May the Orb shine its holy light on your team, if they have survived.  TGIF!!

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:02 (average 5:38).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (Media Matters Channel): Fox News urges war with North Korea

Barf Bag Alert!!

This is where Trump forms his policy. Take away his TV! RESIST!!

From YouTube (Late Show Channel): Stephen Colbert’s Midnight Confessions, Vol. XXXVI

Trump tried that elevator trick, but his is too short to reach any buttons. RESIST!!

From Time: U.S. President Donald Trump’s readiness to threaten the use of America’s nuclear arsenal has unnerved diplomats and academics and inflamed tensions with North Korea over the first year of his presidency. Now former nuclear missile launch operators are adding themselves to the list of concerned observers.

In an open letter to Congress on Thursday, a group of 17 former nuclear launch officers argued that President Trump “poses a clear and present danger to the country and the world” and warned that “there are no reliable safeguards” to prevent Trump from deciding to launch a nuclear missile on his own.

The letter was published by international nuclear disarmament advocacy group Global Zero, and follows a similar letter written at the close of the 2016 presidential election.

I could not agree more! RESIST!!

  1. 3:43  Seems unsportsmanlike to go after a bird that tame.

    New (copyrighted) cartoons

Just in case anybody read about Walmart giving raises and bonuses, and had a passing suspicion that there might be some sanity there, nope.

Fox – Can’t stand to watch it.  What the chyron says they are “making” it’s my understanding they already have – which is a great reason NOT to start a war.  But Schmuck a l’Orange will not see it that way, I’m sure.

Colbert – He really should have bought more tan and brown crayons and fewer peach.  I don’t THINK he’s a racist!  BTW, totally off topic, but he is a DNA cousin of Ted Danson.

Time – Didn’t work then.  Won’t work now.  But that’s no reason not to try.  Miracles have happened.

Cartoon – And eight years ago there was an earthquake in Haiti. Ask Anderson Cooper.

  2. BBA: Good grief!! Ugh!! I don’t watch Faux news, but this is insane!!

Colbert: “Dump Life’s Useless Baggage”. I immediately thought of Mr. Dumpty. Funny sins, imho. lol

Time: YIKES!! He’s been a clear and present danger since he’s been in office. imho.

Cartoon: Yep. And….I agree w/Joanne’s comment. Anderson was overcome w/emotion, I got choked up watching him talk about it.

Hope that you can sleep better…enjoy your evening, and Thanks, Tom.

  3. YT/MMC: I’m not going to go there, to that “Horses**t” place, but I am not surprised at their lack of sanity.
YT/LSC: If it only were no worse than “Useless baggage!!!”
TIME: These 17n people ought to combine with the 39 psychologists who warned that tDump was dangerous, months ago!

  4. MM: Too bad there will be nobody left to bring these war criminals to trial after Drumpf takes their advise and starts the chain of events that will take us all out of our misery and terminate this planet once and for all.

Stephen Colbert: Worried about the cute polar bears having gone extinct before he gets the chance to use the wrapping paper with them on it. Sad, too true. Stephens take on Pope’s idea of getting rid of useless baggage: excellent 04

Time: ‘President Trump “poses a clear and present danger to the country and the world”’ I think I heard somewhere that FAux News has some very suitable options to deal with situations like that. Pre-emptive strike, Faux News?

Cartoon: The fact that this blunder was rectified should hold out some hope for other rectifications.

  5. Puzzle — 4:03  That bird is better at jumping through hoops than I am.

Media Matters — If it was not clear before that Faux Noise was the Republican Reich’s propaganda wing, it should be now.  This is totally irresponsible!!

“President Trump did exactly what you do when you’re dealing with a bully and a tyrant.  He faced him down.   He said you know that is a nice Hermit Kingdom you’ve got up there.  It would be a shame if it turned into radio active rubble.”

These idiots fail to realise that with the strength of the weapons today, turning North Korea into radio active rubble condemns the rest of the world to a nuclear winter.  Wasn’t Chernobyl enough to show that fallout spreads on the global winds?  And that was nothing compared to a nuclear strike!

The Late how — “Trump tried that elevator trick, but his is too short to reach any buttons.” — No doubt!  May that also be the case with the nuclear launch button!

NY Times — The definition of the name Trump — “a clear and present danger to the country and the world”.  And what do you do with someone like that? . . . you lock him up without any media privileges, and throw away the key!!!

Cartoon — Republicans obviously didn’t learn the lesson!

I have not had the energy to do anything these past 3 days.  Hopefully, things are looking up.  Sorry to hear that you did not sleep well again.  That really screws the pooch!  Hope for better times ahead!

  6. Thanks all.  Very sleepy hugs! 33

  7. I don’t know how true this is, but I have heard that when the POTUS’s doctor examined Trump’s rectum, he found the Orange One’s head. 06
