It’s been a busy day with a lot of time spent sorting out what Amazon Prime Now does and does not have for next week’s grocery order.  It’s also the coldest day of the year so far.  I just learned that both Corker and Rubio have signed off on the Tax Scam.  Grab your ankles!

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:06 (average 4:48).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

From YouTube (MSNBC Channel): Weak President Trump Political Clout Further Eroded By Election Losses

Republicans are so devious that, to win a close race, they will get their Fuhrer to endorse the Democrat in that race. RESIST!!

From Daily Kos: Quinnipiac University did a national poll with a few questions about Donald Trump. Among the highlights (or lowlights) was what happened when they asked voters for the first word that comes to mind when they hear the name “Donald Trump.” The results are not going to make the notoriously thin-skinned megalomaniac happy. Here are the top responses:

#1 — IDIOT

#2— LIAR

#3— INCOMPETENT

Given more than one word, the responses were not much better for the deeply unpopular Trump:

I would have picked a MUCH better word! RESIST!!

From NY Times: 1. Record temperatures around the world

Last year, Earth reached its highest temperature on record, beating marks set in 2015 and 2014. While that partly reflected the influence of El Niño, a cyclical event in the Pacific Ocean that can raise global surface temperatures, a new study led by Thomas R. Knutson of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration concluded that the record warmth worldwide “was only possible due to substantial centennial-scale human-caused warming.”

Two separate studies also found that unusually high temperatures across Asia and the Arctic in 2016 “would not have been possible without human-caused climate change.” Such forceful assertions are rare: Typically, scientists will only go so far as to say that global warming made an extreme weather event more likely to occur. In these cases, they went further, finding that such extreme warmth could not have happened in a world without rising emissions.

I shared one result of the Republican War on Mother Earth. Click through for the other four listed. RESIST!!

  1. 4:42  They are real fighters, so watch yourself.

Congratulations on the religious ecstasy …

This cartoon is too copyrighted to show … but it certainly is accurate on the tax scam.

These Doug Jones petitions are separate from the joint group ones

As so many are pointing out – our comedians have more compassion and better priorities than “our” politicians.
    And one more for CHIP

Rachel – Yes, I’m familiar with Iowa District 3 – as familiar as one can be if one doesn’t live there, just has a friend who has family who live there.  Yes, this was impressive.  In Texas I’ll be supporting Beto O’Rourke.  You are right that Republicans are that devious … but I am far from convinced it would work for them.

DKos – Yes.  The entire poll is hysterical.. I encourage people to click through.

NYT – Sure is too bad Republicans think the Old Gray Lady is purely fake news.

Cartoon – Oh, so there are a FEW gifts Republcans will allow kids to receive.

  2. Jones’ upset win in Alabama is a glimmer of hope that we need in these dark times. We may yet turn this country around by legal and peaceful means.
DK: I have a feeling those were the top three PRINTABLE responses–
Global warming is REAL, it is happening right now. But our bungling buffoon that thinks it is POTUS orders the term “climate change” removed from government sites. He is like the toddler who closes his eyes and thinks that he can make his angry parents go away.
    Cartoon: All too true.

  3. RM: Encouraging except for the tax bill. Love seeing the Resistance!!!

DK: A–Hole comes to my mind, instantly. The top 3….ok…but he’s still an A==!!!

NYT: Very, very concerning, and sad. What are we leaving for our children, grandchildren and future generations?? to live here on Mother Earth? btw….I viewed the short video of the dying starving polar bear in the Canadian Arctic Archipelago, and it drove me to tears. This is what’s happening globally.

    Cartoon: UGH times 1000!!!

WOW!!! Good score for your guys!!! We play the Jags Sunday. Enjoy your evening, and take good care, thanks, Tom.

  4. DK: Yeah, my word would not have been printable in a prime time show!
NYT: The Koch boys funded a research project with a Professor Muller, a few years ago.  Muller was a serious skeptic before the study (gee, is that why they picked him?), but after the study, he, and others similarly, became believers!  Of course the ****suckers did not publicize the results!

  5. Rachel Maddow: I wish she had gone on for hours with the list Republicans are worried about instead of less than 12 minutes, it’s gratifying and comforting. But it builds up hope and fortifies me for the next month or so when I’m Down Under again and because of terribly slow and too expensive reception of the internet can’t view videos. Shades of things to come when net neutrality is killed?

DK: In percentages the top words that come to mind to 1,211 surveyed voters IDIOT, LIAR and INCOMPETENT were very low (53, 44 and 36 voters – not percentages – respectively), but low percentages on such open-end questions in surveys is standard and a lot of people may have had trouble sticking to only one. 13It’s both remarkable and mind boggling to see that 35 thought of “leader”, 35 of “strong” and 21 of “great”. Even in a poll Drumpf turns out to be divisive. 41But overall 30 of 48 five people agreed on were negative. Your a**hole came in 6th, TomCat (I think that is the word you’re referring to, isn’t it).

NYT: If scientists (in this case two independent groups of them) come up with conclusions in such strong wording, you can be sure their data supports them very strongly with very significant findings. Which is a good thing if their conclusions weren’t so depressing in the knowledge that the leadership of one large country (and large contributor to global warming) is ignoring them.

Cartoon: Yes, some new additions to their arsenals under the Christmas tree is their idea of peaceful bliss.

  6. Puzzle — 4:08  I know who is going to attempt to eat fishie for dinner!

TRMS — Are people finally catching on that Drumpf is a narcissistic, racist, xenophobic, homophobic billionaire who cares nothing for anyone but himself?  It sounds like it!  He appeared to ride in on a white horse last November, but he appears poised to depart with the garbage.  I hope the Democrats can hold that line and advance it.

Daily Kos — My first thought was f***ing asshole because just one word was not enough . . . actually 2 isn’t enough either.  It boggles the mind that anyone can see Drumpf as a leader.  A dictator, a bully . . . yes, but leader, never.  JD is right . . . read the rest, especially the comments. They are definitely unforgiving and rightfully so!

NY Times — And Drumpf wants to keep drilling for oil etc.  The Times has another article about drilling in the Arctic Refuge.  This is totally disgusting and we need to hold our politicians and ourselves accountable.

Cartoon — Yup!  I just wish their earth was located somewhere else!

  7. Thanks all.  Hugs!

My word is printable: sphincter. 05

    • IANAMD, but I respectfully submit that there are more than 37,000 sphincters (and more than 9,000 different KINDS of sphincter) in the human body.  The other 36,999+ and 8,999+ are offended.
