I found an alternate delivery service for the time Store to Door is closed.  It’s a family business and costs much more than Store to Door, or Safeway.com, but I’d rather pay more than do business with Safeway.com, after the way they treated me.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:06 (average 4:59).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Congrats to Vivian and Seth, who lead the league.  Condolences to Jack, who remains under the Squatch.  The coming week is the last in our regular season.  Playoffs start on week 15.

From YouTube (Full Frontal Channel): Web Extra: Speaking Of Cutting Taxes For The Rich

Thanks Sam! Bingo! RESIST!!

From LA Times: Rep. John Conyers Jr. of Michigan, the longest-serving member of the House of Representatives, stepped down today after his support among fellow Democrats collapsed amid accusations of sexual harassment by several female employees.

Here is the difference between Democrats and Republicans. We pressure our scandal-plagued members to leave office. Republicans give theirs a formal endorsement from their pervert Fuhrer and extra campaign cash from the RNC. RESIST!!

From The New Yorker: Hoping to put to rest a mystery that has long bedeviled the nation, Donald J. Trump’s personal lawyer, John Dowd, revealed on Monday that it is actually his voice that appears on the notorious “Access Hollywood” tape.

Speaking to reporters, Dowd said that the so-called locker-room talk attributed to Trump had actually been carefully crafted by the former reality-show host’s legal team and then read aloud by Dowd himself.

Additionally, Dowd said that comments widely thought to have been made by Trump indicating that he believed that Frederick Douglass was still alive were also Dowd’s handiwork.

“President Trump was about to say something about whether Frederick Douglass was alive or not, and I stepped in at that moment and said that he was,” Dowd said. “I stand by that statement.”

Dang it, Andy!! You just gave them the idea!! RESIST!!

  1. 5:01  Got the blues, got the blues, got those tropical fish blues so bad.

From the Daily Kos Elections Team:  “In a normal universe, it would be shocking to see the leader of the Republican Party endorse someone with credible allegations of sexually assaulting minors against them just to obtain tax cuts, but nothing more perfectly encapsulates what the modern Republican Party has become in the age of Trump.”

Ryan Grim at The Intercept has put up a petition to MSNBC regarding Sam Seder, because “MSNBC, under pressure from the so-called “alt-right,” severed ties with contributor Sam Seder over a tweet from 2009 that was criticizing liberal defenders of Roman Polanski. MSNBC simply misread the tweet and over-reacted to the pressure from the far right. They should pause, think, and reverse this cowardly decision.”  Link HERE    Background at Daily Kos HERE

Sam – Well done.  Not that anyone needs economists to tell them it doesn’t work.  As long as anyone poor or middle class is still alive and has not died from malnutrition or a pre-existing condition, he or she knows that.

    LA Times – Yup.

    TNY – SMDH.

Cartoon – But where’s the gun?

  2. As if we needed more proof of what an incompetent eff-up our so-called POTUS is.

Mark Twain wrote, “If Christ were here there is one thing he would not be—a Christian.” How absolutely true.

  3. Sam: Well done, and said. We’re screwed.
LAT: Absolutely, the rethugs wouldn’t have it any other way.
NYT: Unreal. Dowd’s driving the clown car for his Führer.
    Cartoon: Sad.
Glad that you found another venue for your food delivery. Hope that you get some rest, take care, and Thanks, Tom.
*Joanne, thanks for the link re: Mr. Seder. Signed. There are 6,916 signatures collected. (so far).

  4. Full Frontal: Bill Clinton, that scuzzy liberal/commie, did what for the economy?   LAT: That’s the ethical way to go!  An abomination on the right! NewYorker: Dowd might as well go work fro Penn and Teller (no negative aspersions meant, guys) ‘Toon: Can you imagine???

  5. Puzzle — 3:59  Is this one safe to eat?  If it is, it won’t be very satisfying.

Fantasy Football — Did I ever kick ass in week 13 or what? — 122.72 to 69.88 for Jack.  This week it is endthegop in my sights which given they don’t really exist anymore, is an automatic win for me.  That means 5-9-0 for me, the same as endthegop.  So it is up to the Fantasy Football gods to see if I advance from 7th to 6th place.

LA Times — “He also called for a public airing of settlements paid by other members of Congress as a result of sexual harassment allegations. The settlement involving Conyers became public because he used money from his congressional account to pay the former aide. Other settlements have been paid from a centralized House account and remain secret.” — I wonder what the outcome would be . . . mostly Republican???  The fact that this list is kept secret is rather troubling.  Let’s have some transparency since these settlements are paid from public funds.

Full Frontal — Bruce Bartlett: “… what they really want is a deficit caused by tax cuts because then they have an excuse to slash benefits for the lazy poor.” — I agree with Bartlett with one caveat — the poor are not lazy!  A truthful admission from a Republican!  Too bad that the Drumpf voters have yet to understand this, although I think some are going to very soon.

The New Yorker — ““Let’s be clear,” Dowd said. “Since Donald Trump was elected President, he has done nothing.”” — Oh the irony of that statement!

    Cartoon — Very sad!

  6. Full Frontal: Put some economists in front of the camera who do not work for the 1% and have integrity and you get the real story: The Laffer Curve (probably called The Laugher Curve among the 1%) is fiction and is only been proven wrong. And you get to hear the rest of the story too: the tax cuts are only the beginning for a win-win-win situation for the rich. They make millions of dollars because of the tax cuts, but the national deficit will explode. Which is a good thing for the rich too, because then they can slash benefits for those lazy poor, freeing even more money for them. Even the French aristocracy didn’t take it that far before they ended up under the guillotine.

LAT: Good thing Conyers stepped out, it is the ethical thing to do. But if it is only done by Democrats to show they have higher standards than Republicans, i.e. for political reasons only, then the accusations the women made were in vain, the real but underlying problem is not addressed but taken away from them and nothing will change.

TNY: Great piece of satire, Andy; except for the last line:

“Let’s be clear,” Dowd said. “Since Donald Trump was elected President, he has done nothing.”

    Too true.

  7. Thanks all.  Pooped hugs! 35
