Yesterday was a crazy day.  WWW had a great time with her niece at Santa’s pancake breakfast and got here at about 10 AM.  After we de-stunk the TomCat, I worked getting the blog published and messages out.  By the time we got done, I was completely pooped, so I fell asleep during meditation upon the Ellipsoid Orb.  I had thawed a package of turkey bird leftovers, do I feasted on bird and stuffing.  I still have a 2 lb. pkg. of frozen turkey in addition to the frozen soup base.  Store to door will be off two weeks at the end of December, so I’m trying to arrange alternative delivery to avoid Safeway.com.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:17 (average 5:17).  Top do it, click here.  How did you do?

Religious Agony:

They are now effectively out of the playoffs, so that leaves only next season.  Each loss increases the draft value.

Short Takes:

From YouTube (MoveOn Channel): Dreamers send Paul Ryan a Billboard Pushing for a Clean Dream Act

I support them, but expect to see the Stanley Cup played in Hell before Republicans pass it. RESIST!!

From The New Yorker: Breaking his silence on Alabama’s embattled Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate, Donald Trump warned on Wednesday that dumping Roy Moore could start a “dangerous trend” of believing women.

“I think we need to be very, very careful here,” Trump told reporters. “This is not just about Roy Moore. This is about our country deciding that we are going to start believing women, something that we have never done before.

“This is a very dangerous road we’re heading down,” he said.

Trump cautioned that, if instituted, a new practice of believing women would “totally destroy” the system that the country already has in place. “For years we’ve had a system of believing men,” he said. “It’s worked very well. It’s done a great job.”

Andy, are you planning a return to satire? RESIST!!

From Alternet: President Donald Trump’s lawyer claims his client cannot be guilty of obstruction of justice because he is the president.

John Dowd, the president’s outside lawyer, insisted he drafted Trump’s tweet over the weekend that seemingly confessed to obstruction but argued the social media posting did no such thing, reported Axios.

“The tweet did not admit obstruction,” Dowd told the website. “That is an ignorant and arrogant assertion.”

The attorney insisted Trump could not possibly be guilty of obstruction because he was the chief executive.

That sounds like Crawford Caligula’s Unitary Executive hypothesis. RESIST!!

  1. 5:50  OMG ponies!

I saw a photo of McConnell yesterday that would have made me feel sorry for him if he were a human being.  So, of course, I thought of this:

MoveOn – Yeah, you’re right.  Which, of course, is why 2018 is so important.

TNY – It certainly would be dangerous to HIM.

AlterNet – It didn’t work for Nixon, and it won’t work for Trump – not forever.

I am old enough to have been alive then, but not old enough to remember a time when the US did not belong to the UN.  (Or a time when there weren’t idiots screaming, “Get the US out of the UN!”)

  2. Move On: I have relatives in WI, and I sure will send them this, though I’m sure that they’ve already seen it. They can’t stand the man, me included. Well Wishes to the Dreamers!!

NYer: We need more gals in politics, and for women to call out!! those misogynistic men who believe women are beneath them!! Resist them!!

AN: Gawd, the excuses they come up with. Lying, lying, lying!!

Cartoon: Gulp! Hope dt doesn’t try to get us off/out of the membership!!

Yesterday was not a good day for football victories, (either way). You had a very busy day! Glad WWW enjoyed having breakfast w/her niece, and Santa. Get some rest, and take good care. Thanks, Tom.

*Joanne: What can I say!! Ole Man Fibber & con!! Good one! Thanks.

    • “We need more gals in politics”

Great minds.  That’s exactly what Barack Obama just said (he added something about men seem to be having problems.)

Glad you liked the Roy on the Left.

  3. YT: Ryan could not care less.
New Yorker: tDump could not care less.
Alternet: Nothing but hogwash! Reminiscent of Sarah UpChuck saying that if the president says it, it is, therefore, the truth; reminiscent of Nixon’s reminding the country “You have only one president.” Yeah, and….?

  4. MO: I hate to say it but: “Dream on”.

TNY: Not funny, Andy. You have Drumpf saying what many Republicans, including some deluded women, are thinking, and some even saying out loud.

Alternet: It’s bad enough when Drumpf is screaming that his tweets are wrongly interpreted, but things are really getting bad when his lawyer Dowd has to take the the blame for this particular bad tweet by saying he scripted it (yeah, right), and when that doesn’t help have Dowd backtracking by saying this obstruction wasn’t obstruction because Drumpf is president. How many more ways can Drumpf admit to obstruction? You’d think he’d reached the bottom of the pit he dug for himself by now, wouldn’t you. 26 I think we can expect another “You’re fired” emanating from the Oval Office soon. Let’s hope Mueller’s is following soon after.

Sorry I jumped in the your ditch yesterday. I’m glad you noticed it in time, TomCat. As the Speaker in the video said: “Well done, mate!”

  5. So this isn’t the Broncos’ year. Hang in there. Every team has its bad years.

The Orange Ogre’s regime was doomed from the start. I am not surprised that it started coming apart at the seams during the first year. Meanwhile, We The People need to keep up the resistance. Protest, sign petitions, contact your Congress-critters, and keep raising hell!

  6. Puzzle — 3:59  You do know that the pony/horse is a Democrat don’t you?  Not only that, many countries frown on the consumption of pony/horse meat!

MoveOn — Dreamers represent the future of the US.  I support the Dreamers!  In Canada, we support immigrants and refugees, although there is a case where a family, including a child under 1 year old, was deported back to Sri Lanka last Sunday after 5 years in Canada.  They were an exception.

The New Yorker — Drumpf: ““For years we’ve had a system of believing men,” he said. “It’s worked very well. It’s done a great job.”” — I have said for many years that if women ruled the world, it would be a different place . . . safer, less war, more compassion, more common sense.  Women know all to well about oppression.

AlterNet — ““The case for immunity has its adherents, but they based their position largely on the consideration that a president subject to prosecution would be unable to perform the duties of the office, a result that they see as constitutionally intolerable.”” — And Drumpf is performing the duties of the office?  Gee, I thought he was ranting in a not so presidential way, throwing stones into the foreign relations pond, and golfing more than 30% of his time.  He is the embodiment of a plugged sphincter!

Cartoon — As I understand from my history lessons, the only way the US would consider joining the UN is if it had veto power and a permanent seat on the Security Council.  No altruistic belief in the meeting of minds for a better world.

  7. Thanks all.  Pooped Hugs! 17
