A new month is upon us, and I’m quite busy.  I swapped out the poll and voted on the new one.  I did today’s research.  I’m writing today’s articles now.  When I’m done, I’ll make the graphics and do the research for tomorrow’s Monthly Report for November.  Then I’ll publish today’s articles and do my Care2 stuff.  Somewhere in that mix, I’ll make and eat lunch.  Finally, I’ll pop off George and rest.  All along, I’m listening to the news, waiting for the Reich to explode over Flynn flipping.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 4:31 (average 5:31).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (Daily Kos Channel): Sen. Sherrod Brown blasts the GOP Tax cuts

Keep calling your Republican Senators. RESIST!!

From The Last Word: Fmr. GOP Treasury official: Tax cut bill makes no sense

Bruce Bartlett, who worked in the Reagan Treasury Dept., says Republicans are cutting taxes as if it’s a game of golf: just trying to get to the lowest number possible without thinking of the impact on the deficit or the middle class. John Heilemann also joins.

There’s a simple explanation for this. They haven’t "done the work", because they know that the analysis will ever say want they want. It’s not that people have no jobs. It’s that those jobs pay too little. RESIST!!

From Think Progress: During an interview with CNN on Thursday, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) was asked if he’s concerned about recent reports that President Trump has been privately questioning whether a recording of him bragging about groping women is legitimate and that he remains interested in racist conspiracy theories about President Obama’s birth certificate.

Instead of answering, Graham tried to turn the tables and attacked the media for reporting about those issues in the first place.

“You know what concerns me about the American press is this endless, endless attempt to label the guy as some kind of kook not fit to be president,” Graham said.

The notion that Trump is “some kind of kook not fit to be president” isn’t merely a media creation, however. Graham himself used those exact same words to criticize Trump during a Fox News interview in February 2016, back when he was supporting Jeb Bush.

Lindsey Poo earned his PhD (piled higher and deeper) in Bullshitology. RESIST!!

Sherrod Brown – I am about as grateful for him as I am for Jeff.

Lawrence – I don’t think there was anyone in the Senate who BELIEVED the bill would increase revenue.  I think they just didn’t give a damn.  Did Mnuchin lie?  Do bears shit in the woods?

TP – Well, Lindsay is now firmly over on the alternate reality side now.  Any prior statements which suggested gleams of sanity must have been hallucinations.

Oh, Happy Birthday, Vivian!  I wish it were a happier world for you – and you probably do too.

Cartoon – Like so much, this wants me want to do THIS to that elephant:

  2. YT/DK: The Senate is voting, or about to do so now, and as wonderful as the take-downs about this skuzzy legislation are, I’m afraid it is going to pass.  Ryan will explode in a frenzy of orgasms, McConnell will have his crap eating smile carved into his face, and the Empty Orange will have a piece of “work” to boast about.  He will take full credit for it, see it as his “Most wonderful bigly legacy forming,” and will then insist, again, that Time Mag. list him as the “Bestiest Fake fuhrer of the year!”
Last word: As above…and since it “Makes no sense,” it is exactly what the GOPIGS want.
TP: So, here is Graham taking back the one thing he’s ever said in public that ever made ANY sense!  Next, he’ll do the tDump thing about doubting that the video of him saying that tDump is a kook, was really him.  There has been no GOPIG, in my memory, who has taken responsibility for being human.
    Vivian, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

  3. DK: We’re in this insanity together, and yes, fight, and resist!! Kudos to you, Mr. Brown.

TLW: Yea, looks like they have enough on their side (rethugs) to pass this. Makes me ill.

TP: Playing the ‘blame’ game. He sure showed his true colors to his Fuhrer.

Happy Birthday, Vivian!! Hope you have a wonderful and Happy Day!!

    Cartoon: *Joanne, love the picture!!

Sounds like you have a lot of going on. Hope that you have a good evening, take care, and Thanks, Tom.

  4. Happy B-Day, Vivian!

As my brother would also point out, “I don’t look a more than a year older – because I’m now ONLY a year older!”

  5. As usual, I’m in late and that means that the GOP did it:

The Senate passed the most sweeping tax rewrite in decades early Saturday, with Republicans lining up to approve an overhaul that will touch almost every corner of the United States economy, affecting families, small business owners and multinational corporations, with the biggest benefits flowing to the highest-earning Americans. The New York Times December 1, 2017

     and

I was just handed a 479-page tax bill a few hours before the vote. One page literally has hand scribbled policy changes on it that can’t be read. This is Washington, D.C. at its worst. Montanans deserve so much better. pic.twitter.com/q6lTpXoXS0

    — Senator Jon Tester (@SenatorTester) Dec. 2, 2017

I have to read all the details later, but for now I’m not in the mood to comment on the article you worked hard on, TomCat. So sorry.

  6. I’m also late for this, but

    Happy belated birthday, Vivian!

  7. Thanks all.  Pooped Hugs! 23

  8. Happy “Belated” Birthday… I hope you had a nice Birthday Celebration with your Family & Friends.

    Hugzzz, Jim.
