Except for cooking in preparation for Sunday, I’m spending a lazy day.  I need all the the rest I can get.  It’s dead, so this is my only article today, and I shall not be sending links messages on Care2.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 2:30 (average 4:41).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From Washington Post: A lawyer for former national security adviser Michael Flynn informed an attorney for President Trump this week that he can no longer discuss the special counsel’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, a sign that Flynn may be preparing to cooperate in the probe, people familiar with the investigation said.

The call from Flynn lawyer Robert Kelner to Trump attorney John Dowd came Wednesday evening and is a potentially ominous sign for Trump and his close associates. Before this week, Kelner had been communicating with lawyers for Trump.

The split suggests that Flynn, who has been a top target of special counsel Robert S. Mueller III and his team, may be looking to share information with the prosecutor and his team.

As much as I would hate to see this Nazi get off, I’d welcome it, if his testimony takes down his Fuhrer. RESIST!!

From Alternet: GOP Insider Bruce Bartlett: ‘The Republican Party Needs to Die’

Onetime Reagan White House aide Bruce Bartlett on the media’s massive failure and his own party’s living death.

Click through for an excellent read. I agree with this Republican. RESIST!!

From Politico: The nation’s cartoonists on the week in politics

Every week political cartoonists throughout the country and across the political spectrum apply their ink-stained skills to capture the foibles, memes, hypocrisies and other head-slapping events in the world of politics. The fruits of these labors are hundreds of cartoons that entertain and enrage readers of all political stripes. Here’s an offering of the best of this week’s crop, picked fresh off the Toonosphere

I can’t show you, due to © restrictions. Click through to see the toons. RESIST!!

  1. WP: Read about that this morning. The hole is getting deeper and wider……eeeeek!! (in a good way!)

AN: Great article, my favorite – dt: “He’s a useful idiot”. I too, agree. in wishing the GOP would fade into the sunset.

Politico: Modern World, and David Horsey. All good though!!

    Cartoon: Yep, sure have!!

Glad to read that you are relaxing today. Just an FYI here, Navy lost to Houston 24-14. Bummer! Hope that you have a good evening, take care, and Thanks, Tom.

  2. Quite a few recent incidents appear to be pointing towards a total meltdown of the Trump regime and of the Greedy Oligarchical Plutocrats. Hold on tight, folks – it’s gonna be a bumpy ride.

  3. 4:26  I wish they had told us where this is.   It looks so … interesting.

WaPo – I also read about this this morning, although very quickly (and not at WaPo; I’m temporarily maxed out).  I did, however, notice that there are also other possible reasons for this development.

AlterNet – Glanced this morning and bookmarked to read later – but may not be able to do justice until Sunday.

Politico – I do so love David Horsey!  Even on the (extremely rare) occasions when I disagree.

Cartoon – I’m not actually sure they ever evolved enough to devolve

  4. Thanks for all you do.

  5. Loved the cartoons!
To say that tRump is shooting himself in the foot is putting it mildly! Anyone that can’t tell the difference between ratting on themselves and just keeping his MOUTH SHUT CANNOT be president of the US! PLEASE! PLEASE! Get rid of this stye on the US’s eye NOW!

  6. WP: I can’t imagine Flynn getting off without any indictments to his name if he rats on Drumpf, not unless he’s got some information that is proof enough to indict Drumpf on. Mueller wouldn’t waste all this time on combing through all that material to end up empty handed and Flynn walking away free. I hope. We’ll see how serious this really is when Drumpf starts attacking “that fine man” Flynn and threatening to fire Mueller.

Alternet: It’s easy to agree with a Republican insider like Bruce Bartlett because he’s old-school: conservative politics may be his cup of tea in abstraction, but everything the GOP now stands for in the plutocracy they’ve helped create is alien to him. Bartlett is a RINO, if that. He doesn’t believe conservatism is dead, just that the GOP has turned into a zombie. His analysis of the role of the media makes a lot of sense, especially with the rise of right-wing media like talk radio by Limbaugh and his ilk: “Well I think the simple answer is that liberals and centrists are perfectly content with the mainstream media. They’re very happy with the New York Times and the Washington Post exactly as they are.” With that, Bartlett doesn’t say that the mainstream media is, or was, liberal or leftists, it was independent and factual, and that suited liberals just fine. But you can already hear the Limbaughs and Hannitys of the right-wing media focus on this, and telling their followers that Bruce Bartlett agreed with Drumpf that the mainstream media is in the hands of the lefties and therefore fake. They’ll twist and turn reality until it fits the alter reality they’ve created.

Politico: Love those cartoons. Of course for political cartoons it can’t be said very often that a picture  is worth a thousand words because they often rely on text too, but they manage to get very close. Brilliant. Thanks for posting, TomCat.

Cartoon: Actually I think evolution is continuing but a new species is in the process of branching off: Homo Altrightus Nescius.

Glad to read you’re taking things easy, TomCat. Enjoy your Thanksgiving-style dinner with Wendy on Sunday.

  7. Thanks all!  Pooped Hugs! 16

  8. Puzzle — 4:07  Amazing!  I am under the average even though I am shaking like a leaf with a 3.1 blood sugar low.

Washington Post — I can’t think that Flynn would enjoy a stay in the Crowbar Hotel (prison), nor would he want to see junior doing so.  So if he feels Mueller’s wagons are circling in very close, he will try to make a deal.  If rolling over on Drumpf is the price, he’ll do it.  What’s the expression — there’s no loyalty among thieves?  This development is going to make Drumpf even more irritable and unstable.  From Flynn to Drumpf: Happy Thanksgiving!

AlterNet — “The Republican Party needs to die. It’s already a zombie. It’s brain dead.” — AMEN!  I was reading this last night before I checked the OT.  Very interesting and I can hear today’s conservatives calling Bartlett a Benedict Arnold.  I agree with much of what he says.

Politico — They are all good but I especially like Drumpf ready to carve up the US eagle for the Thanksgiving meal and the one of Manafort lining up with the rest of the turkeys for a White House pardon.

Cartoon — I’m not sure they ever evolved.

Have a great dinner with Wendy!  She is definitely a keeper!  It does not need to be Thanksgiving Day to have Thanksgiving.

  9. WP: I had thought they were coming for Flynn, but I agree with your spin on this…if only!
Alternet: The GOP may well be far along in it’s dive to ignominy and history…R.I.H.
Politico: Really liked the Alex Jones piece!  He seems to be in the same alternate universe as Sarah H.
‘Toon:  Nice to see the GOPIGs finally admit it.
