I have a major mess today.  Safeway’s computer system is dawn, so my grocery delivery from Safeway.com, which was supposed to be here by now, has been indefinitely delayed.  I have to wait up until they arrive, which means I get no rest  How frustrating!  Wendy will be here this evening.

Under Republican moral code, "choice" includes justifying any perversion. RESIST!!

From All In: Texas sheriff threatens charges over anti-Trump sticker

Based on this update, I like this gal! A Saguaro suppository for the fascist Sheriff. RESIST!!

From NY Times: The Federal Communications Commission released a plan on Tuesday to dismantle landmark regulations that ensure equal access to the internet, clearing the way for internet service companies to charge users more to see certain content and to curb access to some websites.

The proposal, made by the F.C.C. chairman, Ajit Pai, is a sweeping repeal of rules put in place by the Obama administration. The rules prohibit high-speed internet service providers, or I.S.P.s, from stopping or slowing down the delivery of websites. They also prevent the companies from charging customers extra fees for high-quality streaming and other services.

The announcement set off a fight over free speech and the control of the internet, pitting telecom titans like AT&T and Verizon against internet giants like Google and Amazon. The internet companies warned that rolling back the rules could make the telecom companies powerful gatekeepers to information and entertainment. The telecom companies say that the existing rules prevent them from offering customers a wider selection of services at higher and lower price points.

  1. 3:47  Restful.

So sorry about Safeway!  It has finally started delivering in my Zip code, and I tried it out yesterday – I was luckier than you.  I hope it doesn’t end up being too late!

DKos – The only time I ever succeeded in shutting someone up on choice was with a comment along the lines of abortion being not about killing, but about saving lives.  I pointed out that there are a whole lot of people alive today who would not be if their mother’s lives had not been saved by an abortion before they were conceived.  (And added that I am one.)  I doubt whether I convinced anyone, but at least the person I was responding to didn’t come after me, as they usually do.

All In – Another thing has since happened – She is making extra stickers and selling them … and they are selling like hotcakes!

Net neutrality – I am signing everything I can.  I fear too many people do not know about this, or do not grasp that it will affect them.

Cartoon – Two who died the same day who deaths did not make news, though they normally would have, were C. S. Lewis and Aldous Huxley.  It was a terrible day in so many ways.

  2. BBA: No moral highground?? Geesh! I guess they want to get all the pervs, abusers, in office. Why not??! dt is one.

All In: Kudos to Ms. Fonseca!! I hope she wins her lawsuit, I like her style !!! 😉

NYT: Like Joanne, I am signing every petition I can see, if there’s any more out there, send to me. I’ll sign.

Cartoon: I remember this day vividly. A very, very sad day. It was the first time that I saw my beloved father cry, alongside of millions of Americans that day.

Oh no!! I hope you get your delivery soon!! HI, Wendy. Hope that you get a chance to rest/relax, take care, and Thanks, Tom.

  3. DK: One can wonder why this former economic adviser is asked for an opinion by CNN to begin with, but the man obviously thinks that if voters were OK with voting for Drumpf right after his “locker room talk” video came out, they’d be quite OK with being represented by a child molester too. Anything is better than a Democrat, and a morally depraved pro-choice Democrat at that, right? Moore is not only a child molester of course, he’s also a hard core, bigoted, but anti-abortion Republican which traits will make up for under-aged-pussy grabbing in the eyes of a lot of voters. And if Moore does win the election, we know that all is forgiven and Congress will welcome that one vote they so desperately need with open arms.

AI: I wouldn’t have put in those words exactly, but Ms. Fonseca has every right to voice her opinion on a bumper sticker and not be harassed by a Sheriff trying to score some cheap political points ahead of running for Congress next year. He is abusing the power pf his office as Sheriff for personal gains and I hope Ms. Fonseca manages to sue him for it. Go for it, girl!

NYT: Yup, rolling back Obama’s regulations on behalf of the greedy telecom giants is the one and only reason  Ajit Pai was made chairman of the F.C.C. Their sock puppets score again at the cost of American consumers (and soon consumers everywhere, I bet).

Cartoon: I was only seven then, but I remember my mother crying. JFK’s murder made a lasting impression on me.

I hope you didn’t have to wait too long for your groceries and everything you ordered for your Thanksgiving meal was delivered in time, TomCat.  Don’t forget to rest between cooking the different dishes and enjoy the day with some serious ellipsoid meditation.

  4. Thanks all.  Hugs! 23

  5. Ugh! Sorry about your Safeway problem. Is there not another store that delivers?
Equating reproductive choice with molesting children? Then again, this comes from crotch-scratchers that think Earth is only 6000 years old. Didn’t watch because I don’t want to my lose my T-day dinner. Even if it was just sushi – I’m by myself, family is scattered, and the circle of friends with whom I usually have that feast has broken up. So, it’s fancy sushi and a couple bombers of craft beer.
Re the anti-Trump sticker: I’m no prude, but on the back of one’s pickup, out in public view, is really not the best place for the F bomb. There are politer ways of expressing one’s disgust with the Orange Ogre.
