It’s Thanksgiving week, and I have nothing special planned for Thursday, other than my annual interlude with the Ellipsoid Orb.  My celebration is Sunday, because I can treat Wendy to a holiday meal.  She’s tied up with her own family on Thursday.  So I’ll be doing a lot of cooking this week.  Otherwise, I’m still improving and resting as much as I can.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:13 (average 5:20).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

From YouTube (RWW Channel): RWW News: Alex Jones Is Having More Children So He Can Beat The Globalists

Barf Bag Alert!!

This is the intellectual side of the Republican Reich. The rest are even crazier. RESIST!!

From Washington Post: A federal judge issued an injunction to permanently block President Trump’s executive order to deny funding to cities that refused to cooperate with federal immigration officials, after finding the order unconstitutional.

The ruling by District Judge William H. Orrick in San Francisco comes in response to a lawsuit filed by the city of San Francisco and nearby Santa Clara County and follows a temporary halt on the order that the judge issued in April.

Orrick, in his summary of the case Monday, found that the Trump administration’s efforts to move local officials to cooperate with its efforts to deport undocumented immigrants violated the separation of powers doctrine as well as the Fifth and Tenth amendments.

Kudos to the judge for making his temporary order permanent (pending appeal).  RESIST!!

From NY Times: The Justice Department sued to block AT&T’s $85.4 billion bid for Time Warner on Monday, setting up a showdown over the first blockbuster acquisition to be considered by the Trump administration and drawing limits on corporate power in the fast-evolving media landscape.

By challenging the deal, the Justice Department is taking an approach to antitrust issues that is starkly different from the Obama administration’s. In 2011, for instance, the department approved a similar deal — Comcast’s acquisition of NBCUniversal — after imposing numerous conditions on the transaction.

If AT&T’s bid for Time Warner were to go through, the merger would create a media and telecommunications behemoth. By itself, AT&T is one of the nation’s largest internet and telephone providers. With its 2015 acquisition of DirecTV, the country’s largest satellite company, it also became the largest television distributor in the United States.

I oppose this merger for other reasons, but it should fail for those reasons, not because Trump is pissed off at CNN. RESIST!!

  1. 5:14  Goethe’s last words.

Congress can’t stop Trump from picking Census chief who believes ‘competitive elections are bad for America’

RWW – The only thing I can think of more disgusting than Alex Jones having more children is being one of his co-conspirators in that.  Disgusting is probably not a strong enough word, actually.

WaPo – Pretty clear – but the Republican capacity to ignor truth will no doubt lead to an appeal.

NY Times – Yes, my jaw dropped when I saw this.  I couldn’t wrap my head around why.  I guess “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” does explain it, sort of.  Anyway, it’s something to be grateful for.

Cartoon – Marana tha!  (referring, of course, to Mueller.)

  2. RWW: What’s really scary about him, is that people tune in and listen to him. ugh!!!

WP: YAY!!!! Good News! and Kudos to Judge Orrick with his injunction!

Cartoon: The National Archives now owns the tape, and has tried several times to recover the missing minutes—most recently in 2003—but without success.*wiki

Glad to read that you are continuing to rest. Relax, and enjoy your evening, take care, and Thanks, Tom.

*Joanne: Very concerning. All I can say is ‘oh, sheet!!’ I’m embarrassed for the University of Texas!

    • Aw, Pat – more bad news for the Navy – I am so sorry.  As I write the WaPo says some have been found but their condition is not known.  I surely hope all are found soon and in at least repairable condition!

  3. TY/RRW: He needs to look in the mirror when he calls others “Sick psychopaths!”  Utterly delusional, just a step away form “word salad,”…and he gets paid for this trash?
    Wa.Po.: Wonderful!!!
NYT: It should fail because the last thing we need is further consolidation of communication companies.
‘Toon: And THOSE were the “Good old days!”

  4. Puzzle — 4:54  I’m still in the dark!

Fantasy Football — At least I am not on the bottom, and in a week or so, endthegop will be underfoot as well.

RWW — Will somebody please take the microphone away from this lunatic!  Alex Jones is one sick puppy who does not make any sense at all.  And please, do not let him reproduce!!!

Washington Post — I heard about this yesterday and was very happy.  Now, may the appeals go down in flames, the quicker the better.

NY Times — I hope the merger fails because that consolidates too much power in one hand, so to speak.  It will mean less and costlier access to things such as the internet.  NPR reported that FCC Chairperson, Ajit Pai, has set 14 Dec 2017 as the date to vote on the reduction of regulation of cable and telecom companies.  Can anybody say “Bye, bye net neutrality”?  This is definitely not consumer friendly and one more Obama era decision that is being trashed.  Drumpf and his lackeys are throwing the country under the corporate bus.  I wonder how much stock Drumpf and his lackeys actually hold in these companies.

Cartoon —  Tricky Dickie!  I never did lick the man, and damn Gerald Ford for pardoning him.  May Drumpf go down in flames and not get a pass from whomever replaces him.  I know, wishful thinking.

I had an excellent turkey dinner last Saturday evening thinking this past weekend was your Thanksgiving.  I guess I’ll just have to do it all over again on the correct weekend.  Good thing I adore turkey!

  5. RWW: I didn’t need any barf bags for this idiot, just some help to get me off the floor where I ended up laughing too hard. I wonder if my medical insurance covers a ruptured disk as the result of a rant of a American radio host who isn’t a comedian but should be in a straitjacket. I had the biggest laugh picturing Alex chasing some women to have them make some kids for him. Come to think of it, do you think this will his line of defense when complaints of his groping start to come in? “I have to make more kids to stop the elite from killing us!” 333333

WP: Kudos to federal judge Orrick for turning the ban from temporary into permanent. Well, permanent until the administration’s appeal, that is. But Orrick has found Drumpf’s executive order to deny funding to sanctuary cities unconstitutional on three separate counts; it’s hard to see how higher courts can deny all three of them.

    NYT:

    TomCat!

The Justice Department should block this merger because it should prevent any resulting corporation to get a monopoly on the market, not because Drumpf wants to block it for personal reasons.
