From YouTube (GQ Channel): The Truth About Pence’s Despicable NFL Stunt

Into what they will turn this nation, if we don’t stop them, is a totalitarian, plutocratic, theocratic, white supremacist Republican Reich! RESIST!!

From The New Yorker: A poll taken after Vice-President Mike Pence made headlines on Sunday with an abrupt early departure reveals that a broad majority of Americans hope that Donald Trump follows Pence’s example and leaves early, as well.

In a striking result, the poll shows that Trump’s early exit would be approximately a thousand times more popular than the one Pence participated in on Sunday.

While Pence defended his decision to leave early on Sunday by saying that he did it out of patriotism, a substantial majority of Americans agreed that a premature departure by Trump “would be, by far, the most patriotic thing he could ever do for his country.”

And while the price tag of Pence’s departure on Sunday, estimated by some to be approximately a quarter of a million dollars, raised eyebrows across the country, poll respondents overwhelmingly said that they do not care how much Trump’s departure costs, as long as he leaves.

Andy, what can I say? AMEN!! RESIST!!

From NY Times: This past week, reports that Harvey Weinstein had sexually harassed women for years came to light, making it crystal clear that not every woman in Hollywood has had the chance to walk our path. Abuse, threats and coercion have been the norm for so many women trying to do business or make art. Mr. Weinstein may be the most powerful man in Hollywood to be revealed as a predator, but he’s certainly not the only one who has been allowed to run wild. His behavior, silently co-signed for decades by employees and collaborators, is a microcosm of what has been happening in Hollywood since always and of what workplace harassment looks like for women everywhere.

In spite of his support for many progressive causes, I hope that he is severely punished for his abuse of women, and is, in the process, given the therapy he needs to learn that women are individuals to be respected, not objects to be used. Republicans have been saying Democrats are hypocrites because we cover-up for Democratic abusers. This is not so. The only difference in my attitude between Weinstein and Resident Pussy Grabber is that there is no need to impeach Weinstein, who deserves to be treated like a Republican, because he is acting just like one. RESIST!!

  1. 4:51  Interesting.

Quiz – How much do you know about mental health?  Right or wrong, taking it unlocks 50¢ for mental health care.

Keith # 132 – Well.  It’s refreshing to see what I think I have to call prophetic anger.  I am not enough of a prophet to declaim what he declaims, true and accurate though it is.  My reaction was to worry about people who would fall for this cheap trick.  At a time like this, Keith is good to hear.

TNY – Straight news, but well said .

NYT – Jimmy Kimmel is one who has been called a hypocrite by Republicans – but as he points out, he has done plenty of Bill Cosy and Bill Clinton sex abuse material in the past.  No, we don’t cover for our own.  That is purely Republican.

Cartoon – Now if that were an archeological dig, it wouldn’t be so nauseating.  But in 3,000 years, there will be nothing left of our society that would even make a respectable dig.

    • The absence of diggers will balance the absence of anything to dig up. 18

I unlocked 50 cents, but did it with an email account I never open.  That quiz has to be all about SPAM.

      • I didn’t use my main email account either, but one that I look at every couple of months.  But I wanted to know and didn’t want to compare enough maps to find out.  I’ll let you know (eventually) if my other account gets flooded.12

  2. That cartoon is being much too kind to the Goofus Oligarchical Pr*cks!

  3. KO: So spot on, with Keith’s words. Yes, it was a sleasy stunt!!

NYer: Lordy, I wish they would both GO!!! lol, Andy.

NYT: Republicons are just the worst, aren’t they?

Cartoon: Horrible, and they don’t care.!!!

Hope you have a good evening, Take good care, and Thanks, Tom.

  4. Keith: Well said!
New Yorker: Go, and take your imbecile cabinet with you!
NYT: Weinstein is loathsome, but so is Faux News, now working to connect him with the Clintons.  He donated to the Clinton Foundation?  That, in and of itself, does not make him a close buddy of the Clintons.  And, if he were,  guilt by association is only for the mentally feeble…oh,my, yes, the GOP, and its followers.
Faux News will very probably not tell you that Rumpy has claimed that the NY Times set up Sen. Corker, to make his comment about the WH having become an “eldercare” operation, OR that grumpy has now attacked Corker’s height.  If I did not know better, I would say that Rumpy is really loosing it now…but he’s never had it!

  5. Puzzle — 4:07  Interesting looking bridge!

YouTube — The US will be “a totalitarian, plutocratic, theocratic, white supremacist Republican Reich!” if Drumpf and the Republicans are not stopped! — I so agree!  Perhaps Drumpf’s wall should be used to contain Drumpf and all republicans, including white supremacists etc, to one state, say Kansas where the Kochs are.  Put a dome on it and they can eat and breathe their own pollution while the rest of the country thrives on progressive policies.  I can dream can’t I?

The New Yorker — Not straight news, but I wish it were!

NY Times — Weinstein was thoroughly castigated by Hillary, and as she said, despite his support for her campaign.  He, like the Pussy Grabber, deserves a public “flogging” for his transgressions.  On the radio news this evening, there was a report that his wife is leaving him.  That won’t be a pretty thing to sit through.

Cartoon — Yup!  Brought to you Drumpf and the odious Republicans (Is there any other kind?!)

    Resist, Persist and Remove!!!

Sorry I missed commenting yet again yesterday — it was a busy Thanksgiving.  Sunday was a delightful turkey dinner with my Persian friends who are more like family, and Monday was a second Thanksgiving dinner with Métis friends.  Today was a day with several meetings with the last one finishing about 2000 hours.  I had a short nap when I got home, but now it is back to bed.  Tomorrow is another busy day.  I hope there is nothing for Thursday so I can do some laundry, otherwise I’ll be going about naked.  Not a pretty sight!!!

  6. Keith Olbermann: Keith verifies what we had concluded here yesterday: it was a cheap PR stunt concocted between the two of them. The fact that VP Pence has sunk to the same level in the dreg at the bottom as Drumpf could be an indication that this administration is trying to put on a front of unity despite the obvious power play and discontent emanating from the White House. The question is if this is a sign of Drumpf, Pence and their white supremacist buddies wanting to turn America into an authoritarian and homogeneous state or that they are merely regrouping, waiting for the final assault which will impeach and indict them all. I do so wish it to be the latter.

TNY: Nothing to add to that, Andy!

NYT: Republicans are over the moon with the Weinstein sexual harassment case, because they think they can use it as a dearly needed diversion and start throwing mud at Democrats. But the mud doesn’t stick as progressives don’t have a problem denouncing Weinstein’s disgusting behavior or that of anyone else, left or right, now or in the past. And Republicans won’t be able to turn this into the infamous “you can’t say it’s wrong if everyone else is doing it too, even some of your guys” argument. No, they won’t get Drumpf off the hook now that “leftie” Weinstein is exposed. 09

  7. Thanks all.  Hugs! 23
