It’s another busy day.  It’s cool, but very humid.  Tomorrow is a holy day in the Church of the Ellipsoid Orb, and my Broncos are bye.  So may the blessed Orb shine its holy light on your team.  Tomorrow is also a Wendy day, so I’ll be rushing and brief.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:46 (average 6:05).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (GQ Channel): The Roots of Trump’s Prejudice

Like Keith, I heard it about both Blacks and Puerto Ricans in NYC in the 1960s, but by then I had already rejected my father’s racism and was a civil rights activist. Since Fuhrer Drumpfenfarten is only two years older than me, he has no excuse. Republicans are racist by choice. RESIST!!

From The New Yorker: Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos offered a spirited defense of her boss’s intelligence on Friday, bluntly asking reporters, “Would a moron hire me?”

“My intelligence can be very intimidating,” DeVos said. “And if Donald Trump was a moron, he would not want to be around people who are intelligenter than him.”

As evidence that Trump does not feel inferior around highly intelligent people, DeVos singled out other members of Trump’s Cabinet. "Leave me out of it for a second,” she said. “If Donald Trump was such a blithering idiot, why would he have hired Rick Perry?”

Would a moron hire her? In a word, Andy, YES!  One did!  RESIST!!

From YouTube (MSNBC Channel): How America Overlooked The Russia Election Hack In One Crazy Day

This was a date that shall live in infamy! RESIST!!

  1. 5:44  Oh nuts.

Keith # 131 – “You’ve Got to Be Carefully Taught.”  Well, maybe.  I think it’s a combination of nature and nurture, like so many other things.  Sure, if you hear things liek that. you can pick up those attitudes as truth.  But if you ever graduate to using your pre-frontal cortex instead of just your amygdala, you can learn, and, more to the point, you can un-learn. I’m not sure that graduation is really a choice.

TNY – Dunning-Kruger can be very, very funny.  “But I used the juice. man!”  It is true that one must be – well, a better person than Donald Trump – to hire someone smarter or better than oneself.  For this reason, the Trum Cabinet (and jurist nominations) were predictable.

Rachel – Hindsight is certainly 20-20, and without astigmatism.  Can the MSM staop asking why the White House didn’t say anything about foreign election interference BEFORE the election any time soon?  And has anyone got any spare barf bags?

Cartoon – Donald Trump never had any exposure to domestic animals growing up – or any time since.  I can probably predict what his reaction to any dog or cat would be – “Disgusting!”  I think the kitteh is safe from being grabbed.

  2. KO: Yes, this ID has no Soul. Nothing, and no Heart either.

NYer: I don’t know why, but I laughed when I read this. It’s pretty funny when I re-read it again too. LOL, Andy!

MSNBC: WOW! Found this to be very telling. Mueller’s investigation(s) and revelations, can’t come quick enough for me.

My guys play the Chiefs here, though it will be early evening. 7:30pm. Hope that you have a relaxing evening, take care, and Thanks, Tom.

  3. Keith: Ryan has no heart, so how is he supposed to have the vaguest idea of whether, or not, the empty Orange has one.  But, Keith is right, E.O has nothing inside, heart or otherwise.  He is a façade, hiding the emptiness.  Oh, he probably does not have a pre-frontal cortex, either, pure amygdala!  He would not have a faculty for parsing the bigotry he may well have overheard.  And, since he is, and has always been all about him, and his idiot marble floor, for instance, he can not be expected to have experienced any cognitive discord…or cognitive anything, of that matter.
New Yorker: I can really imagine deVos praising the intelligence (NOT) of rick Perry!  it is sad.
Rachel: Is it not amazing how the universe, in its phenomenal randomness, can put all this together in one day?  The coincidence is a new lesson in “there is no such thing as bad publicity,” especially in DT’s case.  He got how many billions of dollars in free, mostly bad, publicity, and became the president able to eclipse G.W. Bush in imbecility!!  Did ANY news network sound an alarm, that day, or the next, like “Hey, wait, this other thing is going on, and is REALLY bigger than the clown!!?

  4. Keith Olbermann: The most important thing Keith is trying to convey in this video that Drumpf’s bigotry, racism, misogyny, you name it…is on top of something lacking from birth, something missing right from the start. He may have honed his hatred of others, in this case Puerto Ricans, during his upbringing in New York, but to get it perfected to what it is now needed a very strong pathological base: the non-existence of empathy. Or, as Keith summarized it at the end of his video: “There is no heart.” 03

TNY: Andy can thank Tillerson for having his accurate and honest description of Drumpf become public. Given the people in Drumpf’s administration, Andy can keep this up for days if not weeks. 24

Rachel Maddow: It certainly is strange how White House information about Russian interference in the election was sidelined within an hour and a half by a tape of Drumpf being Drumpf and how the Wikileaks emails hacked from Podesta’s computer and passed on by the Russians only are remembered as “Hillary’s emails.” Nobody even remembers the White House releasing information on Russian interference; it never made the headlines. The fact that Drumpf’s soon forgiven or ignored sleaziness and anything that could be damaging to Hillary got more attention in the media at the time says a lot about what role the media played in the election at that time. 13

Cartoon: Just can’t picture misanthropic Drumpf as an animal lover, so this cutie is probably very safe from his grabbing hands.

  5. Thanks all Hugs! 17
