It’s that time of week again, and I’m happy to share four video clips from Bill’s show last night.  Enjoy!!

Monologue: The Worst Responder

Not a real disaster? Not a real President. AMEN!! My authentic thoughts and my authentic prayers complement each other, and my prayers are in no way an excuse for inaction.  Bill is proselytizing his atheist religion again.  (Because I consider it a religion for him, does not mean I think it is a religion for authentic atheists.)

Russell Brand: Recovery

I’d like to have the opportunity to become addicted to living in a post Republican nation, but they are not the ludicrous gargoyles that govern. They are the ludicrous gargoyles that are incompetent to govern.

Billy Crystal

They depicted Trump very well.

New Rule: The Party of Poopers

While I do agree with him about the Hot Car Bill, I think most regulations Democrats legislate are good and necessary.

Enjoy?

RESIST THE REPUBLICAN REICH!!

  1. thank you, resist

  2. Bill – The monologue reminds me of the second story in Erinyes today “I know you’re goung through the worst time in your life.  Let me pull up your account.”

I see a lot of atheists proselytizing in comments at Raw Story and AlterNet.  I don’t think a lot of people realize what a religion is – and I include both those who profess to have one, and those who profess to have none.

I couldn’t help wondering what Brand was up on during this show.  I have seen him before and didn’t realize he had so little impulse control.

Billy Crystal – I still remember him as the gravedigger in Branagh’s “Hamlet.”  That’s a great compliment, as the role itself is not THAT memorable.  Quote regarding “Respect the President” – “People ask me all the time: why do you talk about Trump so much?  He’s just trying to do his job.  Leave him alone.  And I’, like:  I was living my life and this guy comes along and wants to deport my friends, demonize the people I love, degrade women, wreck the climate, destroy the economy, destabilize the world and endanger the life of every living thing on the planet.  Leave him alone?  That motherfucker needs to leave ME alone.”  Sorry I don’t know who said it.

New Rule – I’ve been saying for years – well, at least months – that we need to stop talking about “regulations” and start talking about “protections.”

    RESIST AND PERSIST !!

    • Good point about protections, although the Republican reply would be that they were regulations, not protections.  Many would agree, because we’ve been calling regulations regulations as long as I can remember.  How could we avoid that? 01

  3. Really enjoyed listening to Billy Crystal, he’s my kinda guy!

    All good, Thanks, Tom.

  4. Maher#1: I do not watch him except for on TC’s blog, but I do not see him proselytizing atheism here.  “thoughts and prayers,” as spoken by the GOP are exactly what he calls them, a way of saying “Tough shit, move on we don’t care.”  It is a condescending way of expressing alligator tears with words.  Prayer is comforting, has a placebo effect, and is authentic to the one praying.  People in a disaster, who survive, and were praying are seen as having been saved by a miracle, but those who were praying, just as fervently, and did not survive, are not available to comment on the failure of their prayers.
Russell Brand: Turned him off at moment 2:30!  I’ve not seen him before, had to go to to wikipedia to check him out.  I think he was high on himself, IMHO…from the walking out onto the stage in THAT way.
Billy C:  Scott Pruitt VERY MUCH realizes which agency he is head of, and wants to destroy!  The times DT is silent…excellent point!  The guy does not go on Twitter, and create silences about the things he wants to avoid, or does not know how to address, but he does so in person.
New Rule: “…until we get rid of kids altogether.”  Well, give Pruitt enough time, and the toxins in the air will kill us all, and then we’ll “…be rid of kids altogether.”  But Bill has a good point.

    • Mitch, I would agree with you, if bill had stopped with describing what Republicans do.  That was not proselytizing.  But he went to to say that “Thoughts are the opposite of prayers.”  That insults all who pray and is proselytizing. 40

  5. Thanks all.  Hugs! 22
