I’m back in the saddle after my appointment, and if you missed it yesterday, both my eyes are in fine shape.  I think I made the right choice when I chose lens replacements, whose best focal distance is the distance from my screen, since that’s where I spend most of my time.  I have reading glasses for close in and distance glasses for out and about.  My new glasses will be progressive.  (I wouldn’t dream of wearing Republican glasses!!)

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 2:45 (average 5:00).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

From YouTube (GQ Channel): Trump’s “Condolences and Sympathies” Won’t Cut It

I could not agree with Keith more. RESIST!!

In sharp contrast, here is part of the Republican view.

From YouTube (RWW Channel): RWW News: Dave Daubenmire Says Vegas Shooting Was ‘The Wrath Of God’ On A Wicked Nation

Barf Bag Alert!!

Republicans love to use Republican Supply-side Jesus (the polar opposite of the real Jesus) to justify their terrorism. RESIST!!

From YouTube (MoveOn Channel): Ari Berman on Egregious Gerrymandering

I’m hopeful, but given the current makeup of SCROTUS (Republican Constitutional VD), I’m not making any bets. RESIST!!

  1. 5:27  That’s not a huge dog as dogs go, but it’s a pretty big one for a cat to eat.

Happy 25th Anniversary, Barack and Michelle!

Keith # 129 – “Warmest Condolences” indeed.  If you want a detailed second Amendment history lesson, I recommend this story.    It certainly opened my eyes about Patrick Henry, for one.  And Keith’s analysis of the way words are used throughout the Constitution is very tellng indeed.  Yes.  We need to thwart our ammosexuals and glocksuckers by any means necessary.

RWW – Dunning-Kruger in the flesh.

MoveOn – It’s going to come down to Kennedy, apparently.  I’m hopeful too, but, as you say – but.

Cartoon – Of course that is an automatic.  With a revolver, you can see chambers.

  2. The 2nd Amendment is, albeit arguably, the most misunderstood part of the U.S. Constitution. Gun nuts harp on the second part while ignoring the first. What part of “well-regulated militia” don’t you understand, folks? The early Americans/USers didn’t want a standing army because they were keenly aware of how a powerful military could easily stage coups. Yes, way back then. They wanted to substitute a citizens’ militia for a regular army. Thus, the 2nd amendment isn’t about gun ownership – it’s about providing for the common defense.
The “wrath of god” bozo apparently has been spending too much time in the pharmacy section. Seriously, his eff-tard Jahoovy has removed its magical protection? Does that explain Columbine, Sandy Hook, Virginia Tech, et cetera – hell, does it explain the Holocaust? If the Vegas bloodbath was a “wrath of god” thing, the shooter would have aimed at a hip-hop festival or a Democratic rally. Anybody recall goons shooting at the Women’s March, or the March for Science, or any of the satellite marches? Nope, me neither. People like him make me oh so thankful that I don’t believe in that crap.

  3. KO: Good video. It is gun control. 272 shootings of 4 people or more this year, so far. That’s frightening. And now, they want silencers on the guns so no one can tell where the shots came from (or to locate the gunman), course they’ll (gop), say something different, of course. WTH is wrong with this picture?!?!?! dt, keep your ‘warmest condolences’ in your MAGA hat!

    RWW: Bleck!

    Cartoon: Good Lord, spot on!!

Great news! about your eyes. Yes, we’re (me/spouse) are both progressive down here, and also for glasses. lol. Hope that you have a relaxing evening, take care, and Thanks, Tom.

  4. Keith: “Warmest condolences and sympathies.”  Even these words were probably out into his orange orifice by someone else.  272 mass killings in 274 days!  We have become so inured to the self-slaughter that we do not even hear of most mass murders unless they are especially dramatic, local, or involve celebrities of some sort.  Not only the NRA needs to be done away with, but perhaps the GOP, itself.  The GOP has long been the bought supporter of any industry that has sought to make make a few damned shekels by poisoning, even literally, the country, or the globe; killing us individually, or ensemble!  They are “a race of mendacious hypocrites, ever ready to accuse others of dishonesty in order to cover up their own talents for scheming and dissembling, etc., etc.” taken from pg. 113 of “Friedrich Nietzsche,” by Curtis Cate
RWW: “We have an unlimited ability to ignore our ignorance.” Daniel Hahneman
“Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful.” (Seneca)
“Knowlege is a priceless gift, but the illusion of knowledge can be more dangerous than ignorance.” Pico Iyer

  5. TC, I am very glad about the news regarding your eyes!
Move-On: Well, if SCOTUS rules against Gerrymandering, does that mean that some fool of a self-procalimed Bible thumping clown will “know” that “That is why God took Justice Scalia from the court before this case got there.”

  6. Puzzle — 3:13  Sorry puppy, I just could not catch up to that mangy Puddy Tat to save you.

YouTube — 272 mass shootings in 274 days in the US.  Not a record of which to be proud.  This is not the old wild west, but by this record, anyone on the outside looking in might think so.  The gun junkies say guns don’t kill people, people kill people.  The gun is simply a tool, but a dangerous one.  So if people kill people, why aren’t there stricter regulations round ownership — background checks, licensing, training, liability insurance etc?  “Warmest condolences” doesn’t cut it.  Drumpf needs to show some real leadership and get this  American made problem under control.  But we know he won’t because that would alienate him from much of his base.  Sorry America, but you are out of control!

RWW — This says it all for me!

MoveOn — I agree with Ari Berman, but I am not about to hold my breath that SCOTUS will make the correct decision.  One could argue that since the greater percentage of minority voters support Democrats, partisan gerrymandering by Republicans should be unconstitutional.

    Cartoon — Yup!

Fantasy Football — Yes, and I intend to beat the crap out of you, or in other words, you’ll be under my feet!

  7. So sorry, still trying to shove it in to those bags, although I’m now down to the details and trying to fit 200 grams (2 ounces) into a 100 gram (1 ounce) bag. I hope to find some time to watch all those videos and read the articles tonight and may come back for comments.

  8. Olbermann: Keith’s take and interpretation of the 2nd Amendment is spot on. Have a listen. Recommended. (CC)

RWW Channel: I’m so tired of barfing. I elected to skip this video on “Dave Daubenmire Says Vegas Shooting Was ‘The Wrath Of God’ On A Wicked Nation”.

MoveOn: Egregious Gerrymandering in Wisconsin is the state that gave Drumpf the Electoral College to him. Wisconsin has the toughest voting restrictions than anywhere else in USA. PLUS these factoids:

Did you know that according to Wisconsin’s Election Commission, restrictive Voter ID laws resulted in 41,000 fewer votes this year than in 2012?

Did you know that Republican voter ID laws prevented 200,000 people in Wisconsin from voting in 2016 — and Trump only won that state by 22,000 votes?

Cartoon: Yup, and to top it all off, the NRA supports the GOP’s “Negotiating Position”. Once again, I reiterate that the NRA must be declared as an American Terrorist Organization.

    .

  9. Thanks all.  Busy Hump Day Hugs! 17
