Last night the power in my room went down, and the Labor Day Relief Clerk was so ignorant that he could not find the right circuit breaker box.  Wendy had to come rescue me, and I spent the night in a motel room.  I’m exhausted and need to take the day off.  RESIST!!

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:14 (average 4:46).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

  1. Aren’t the circuit breaker boxes labeled?
Isn’t there a handbook on what to do for the clerks?
    Any training for clerks?
So many questions and so few answers…

TC: A Magical TC… Looks like you “survived” once again with the help from your awesome person, Wendy.

  2. 3:43  Cute little fishie.

Oh, good grief.  What a travesty.  Please rest.  It seems to be a slow news day for now – that could change, but tomorrow will still be soon enough.  “Save DACA” petitions all over my inbox, but many are the same one, just sponsored by a huge number of groups.  Evacuations starting in Florida but no actual landfall yet (that’s probably the thing that can change the fastest).  Everything will still be here, no matter how hard we wish there are things that wouldn’t.  A statue of Wendy would look very nice in lieu of some Confederate jerk.  I’d support it.

Cartoon – Killing innocent people.  The best thing we do, it seems.

  3. I 2nd everything Jim P asks

  4. What Jim asked! WTG!! Wendy! so glad that she was there to help you! Cartoon: A true Resister, this is so sad.

re: DACA. Watched KO’s vid on “Your Grandfather is Rolling in his Grave.” This is very distressing to me, and to echo Keith’s question…”What are we doing?” So very heartless/cruel of dt/sessions to do this. I know several students that are DACA, and I have no words to express how sad I feel.

Get your rest!! Thanks and take good care, Tom.

  5. Thanks to Wendy for coming to your rescue! Be sure and tell her we ALL thank her for well-deserved rescue! Heat is a big killer this year. And you don’t get any cooler when stuck in a cement building.
Got a few good picks on the draft. I need some more to relieve my starters. And some of my starters ain’t they are cracked up to be! Thanks for all the help, TC. I’m ready, hopefully, for Game 1!

  6. Puzzle — 3:15 Sorry little fishie but I could not catch the Puddy Tat!  I have one piece of advice if he tries to eat you: bit him back!

Well didn’t you have a swell night . . . NOT!!!  I am glad that Wendy could help you get settled for the night.  She is such a sweetheart!!!

Cartoon — From my reading of history, Crazy Horse was murdered years before 5 Sept 1877, but he lost his life 5 Sept 1877.  Why is it that people hold such contempt for cultures other than their own?

    Resist, Persist and Remove!!!

It has been up to about 28 C (82 F) today and for the most part cloudy and humid.  It is again very, very smoky.  I did not go out earlier because of the smoke, but big mistake as it is worse now.  Of course we have air quality alerts right now.  Must go as I have to get to the Post Office before it closes.

  7. You poor feline, your apartment building has a habit of breaking down when it’s most inconvenient, i.e during some holiday or other when there’s someone temporary and clueless is on watch. Thank goodness Wendy came and resolved your problem. You are so lucky to have her, but I’m sure you’re very much aware of that and frequently let her know how much you, and all of us, appreciate her. Take care and catch up on some sleep, TomCat.

Cartoon: Crazy Horse’s murder represents the between 100,000 and 500,000 native Americans killed by the US government alone.

  8. Glad you have Wendy!

  9. Cartoon: I visited the Crazy Horse Monument a number of years while riding my Harley across the country in South Dakota, with a stop-over during the Sturgis/Black Hills rally (the largest motorcycle rally in the world). The Monument was quite a sight as it is still being constructed on privately held land in the Black Hills. The Crazy Horse Memorial carving will be 641 feet long and 563 feet high when completed, and it will be the largest sculpture in the world. Also nearby is the Mount Rushmore National Memorial. Here are two links for Crazy Horse:

  10. Thanks all.  Hugs.  This would normally not have been a problem.  It only happened, because it was Labor Day night, and everyone was gone except for a substitute night clerk, who had never been in the building before.

    Pooped Hugs! 19
