I’m back in the saddle.  The eye sees great.  I am still very tired because of the heat, the humidity and the smoke.  Today and tomorrow will be moderate, but before the building cools down, the next heat wave will begin on Friday: six straight days over 90°.  ARGH!  Safeway.com delivered groceries, and I just finished unpacking and putting them away.  Wendy is coming this evening to de-stink the filthy TomCat.

  1. 4:55  I lost a few seconds to sneezing.

I got George Takei’s (roughly) weekly email this morning, and one of his links is to a page of Twitler jokes.  This:  “Steve Jobs would have been a better president than Donald Trump. But that’s like comparing apples to oranges.”

First round of voting in the Corporate Hall of Shame starts (write-ins allowed):

Last night but I inly saw this morning – what I consider a “must-read” history “diary” on the Holocaust.  With a refrain:  “People got used to it.”  I’m pretty sure no one here is getting used to it, but I’ll bet we all know people who are.

Keith # 113 – “There is no soul.”  He took a while to get there, but then, he had to present ALL the evidence.  And he did.

K Conjob – And she said it with a straight face.  OK, it’s barely possible that she interprets his neediness, his constant desire for praise, as humility.  But it isn’t.

    AB/DK – Good list.  Thanks.

Cartoon – Yup.  The extreme weather from climate change, seen in the U.S. (there are other places of course), IMO began with Katrina.  Sandy was Katrina 2.0.  Harvey is Katrina 3.0.  And counting.

  2. KO: Every word that Keith speaks of, is so, so true. Nothing from this manbaby, nothing. “Good Luck to Everybody”! Like we’re in a contest, to the people of Texas. Insert cuss word right about now, or two or five. *Slate: 1 day ago: “At least 14 people are reportedly dead in the Houston area, including a family of six who are thought to have drowned in a van and a police officer who drowned in his patrol car. More than 3,500 people have been rescued, and about 30,000 are thought to have been displaced, including 9,000 or so currently taking shelter at Houston’s convention center.” Most cities here are taking in the displaced, homeless, and providing bedding, food. 50 inches of rain. Complete and total devastation. It’s heartbreaking.

KC: I’m not a drinking woman (anymore), but I’d probably would be around this idiot. She’s so full of it. He, Pat R., didn’t ask me, about the one thing I think about dt. I’d have said, ‘A–Hole’, and he’s quite the contrary of humility. He doesn’t think of anyone except himself. It’s all an act. No empathy, his mental state has taken a vacation, or gone out the window.

AB/DK: Very worthy link, and passing this on as well.

    Cartoon: A MEN!

Relieved your eyes are doing so good! I get tired reading of all the chores you do, on a daily basis! Sorry about the heat. Get some rest. Take care, and Thanks, Tom.

*My problems are minimal compared to folks 12/30 miles away, (east), in the rural little towns of Smithville, and LaGrange where streets and homes are flooded. Houston/SA are flooded as well. We are recovering in my little town. Thank you, TC for your comment, as well as friends caring comments here, and all are appreciated.

Has anyone seen this yet? “Trump Confounds the Silence on YTube: *youtube dot com/watch ?v= IYwamUxAFco&t=36
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYwamUxAFco&t=36s

  3. trump is soul-less……and I can’t even get through Mrs Conjob once she said the exact opposite of the truth…..,,more GOP opposite world

  4. Get used to this orange scourge?  Maybe my Trump loving idiot cousins, who are maintaining a loud silence within my life.  Like most Republicans, I expect, they will never admit to having been mistaken.

  5. Keith Olbermann: Soulless and tone deaf: two more spot-on descriptions to add to the long list of negative descriptions of this miscreant. Are there any positive descriptions on the other list at all? This demented old man has failed the country more than once and is now failing the people of Texas and of the fourth-largest city in America, the same way he’s going to fail the people of Missouri soon. He’s promising the people in Texas that all will be rebuild really soon, another promise he’ll break soon. Let’s hope the real state and federal rescue agencies will support all the people in the states afflicted by Harvey and its aftermath, and will have enough resources to do so.

RWW: I wondered if I should spend my M bytes on viewing the likes of Kellyanne, and given the title I thought it might be comical, so I did. But no, it was only disgusting. She’s clearly trying to remain in his favors with all the sacking that’s going on in the White House, and her obvious brown-nosing sounds like a load of pathetic ?

AB/DK/Cartoon: Wish I had more to spare, but I’ve already contributed to flood relief in Asia where extreme monsoonal rains have had over a 1000 people drown already, with no letting up of rain in sight (as they are monsoonal), while Africa millions are about to starve because of famine caused by prolonged droughts. Climate change is hitting people everywhere, and still Drumpf/Republicans deny it and rather turn back the clock and make things worse than lose out on some short term capital gain.

Glad both eyes are in good working order now, although not yet pointing exactly in the same direction. You’re probably more bothered by the double vision now that sight in both eyes is equal again, I guess. Enjoy the cooling down as much as you can, TomCat, and catch up on some sleep before the next heat wave strikes.

  6. Puzzle — 4:25  Don’t forget Puddy Tat, this is your fishing buddy so you don’t have to get your paws wet!

YouTube — “But look into the soul of a president like Trump, who as black swirling waters engulf the nation’s fourth largest city, could only envision only the government workers and the safety of the FEMA director, …” — At this point I was castigating my computer screen saying “Impossible!  He has no soul!” and then I started laughing at the utter stupidity of Trump.

Keith went on . . . “Look into the soul of Donald Trump and what you’ll see is there is no soul.” — I wholeheartedly agree! Keith finally said what I have thought for what seems forever.

RWW — Kellyanne is as delusional as Drumpf!  Whatever she is smoking, I don’t want any because I might sound just as stupid and delusional as she does.  He’s not in the game for power and greed?  Bullshit!!!  That is exact for the wildfire relief.ly why he is in the game.  He does not give a rat’s ass about anyone but himself!

Act Blue — What little I had, I contributed to the Canadian Red Cross for wildfire relief.  Both are related to climate change and are negatively impacting the lives of so many people.  Republicans don’t give rat’s ass about that!

Cartoon — And Republicans say there is no such thing as climate change!  What do they say now?

Fortunately, it was much cooler here today and Thursday will be about the same.  But look out on Friday through Monday at least!  The word is HOT! . . . mid 30s C (mid 90s F).  Not my preferred temperature. I am so glad that your vision is now so good. Can you imagine when the rest of the work is finished? You’ll be a born again Puddy Tat!

  7. Kellyanne et al lie so much – make that constantly – I bet they could fool a lie detector test.

No, wait … that requires measuring heart rates, and those folks are heartless.

Maybe a mirror would be a better test, just to be sure they have reflections.

  8. I forgot to post this for the other day in Personal Update 8/29/2017.

Olbermann: Keith makes some very valid points in this segment #112. The republicans are not going to do anything right away to impeach Drumpf. Drumpf is doing the dirty work for the GOP with his cabinet picks and executive orders. These are some of the things, items that the GOP have been wanting to do away, change for a very long time. Drumpf has become the GOP’s “fall-guy” whether anyone cares to admit it all or not.

Drumpf’s impeachment will come, most likely, from his financial & political ties with Putin and Russia’s banks. The State of New York is in the wings just in case.

Let us remember that Drumpf may have had help from russian hackers but he also had help from the GOP in castigating voters all around the many different parts of USA, most particularly in the three states of Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

Drumpf’s mouth has gotten him into a lot of trouble ever since he became the Dolt .45. He has left his mark. The GOP cannot control him, his mouth and his twitler account, anymore although lately, Drumpf has been “appearing” in an attempt to look and act “normally” and “presidentially”. Drumpf continues to fail miserably, insistently demanding that the WALL be built or he will shut down the government. The GOP has, in their wings, VP Pence. Pence will act more “presidential” than Drumpf ever could and will carry out the GOP’s agenda along with his own agenda as well.

One other item: Drumpf has, undermined, circumvented the law on several occasions already. His most recent one was the pardoning of Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

Ok, enough of my little “rant”. lol.

Here is John Nichols of the Nation talks about his new book, “Horsemen of the Trumpocalypse: A Field Guide to the Most Dangerous People in America.” The book looks at who is running the government under President Trump, from Betsy DeVos, to Scott Pruitt and Elaine Chao, to Steven Miller.
