RepublicansOnParade5

Here is the ninety-third article in our Republicans on Parade series, featuring individuals who personify what the Republican Party has become. Today’s honoree is Republican Vulture Capitalist Carl Icahn. He is so honored for using his influence as a Trump advisor to make $hundreds of millions from knowing regulation changes in advance.

Carl Icahn’s role as a special regulatory adviser to President Donald Trump has ended after questions were raised by Democratic lawmakers about potential conflicts of interest with his business dealings in oil refining and insurance.

In a letter to Trump addressing his departure that was posted Friday on Icahn’s website, the billionaire investor denied profiting from his advice-giving role — a possibility raised by critics who had asked administration officials to investigate his work.

“Contrary to the insinuations of a handful of your Democratic critics, I never had access to nonpublic information or profited from my position, nor do I believe that my role presented conflicts of interest,” Icahn wrote in the letter. “Indeed, out of an abundance of caution, the only issues I ever discussed with you were broad matters of policy affecting the refining industry.”…

Of course the Republican is lying.  Rachel Maddow explains just what this Republican criminal did.

Now, can there be any doubt that this greedy Republican deserves his parade?

  1. The only reason he can stand there with a straight face and claim there was no conflict of interest is that Republicans have no sense of humor.  I’m sure the cognitive dissonance goes completely unheard by him.

  2. Signs point to the Trump Regime coming apart at the seams. The Republicans aren’t in great shape. Unfortunately, neither are the Democrats. We are not headed for interesting times – we are living in them. Hold on tight and hope that you survive the ride – it’s going to be VERY bumpy.

  3. WOW! I hope they investigate this! unreal !!
The hits just keep on comin’, don’t they?

  4. Carl Icahn is another perfect candidate for Republicans on Parade, TomCat, of whom many will follow in the coming months when the rats, having made their millions or put their power stamp on history, are found out or leave the sinking White House administration of their own accord before they are found out. This trait is the common denominator in all the nasty characteristics of Republicans. I’m sure Icahn would have bailed out soon after he had made a few more millions for himself had he not been found out.

Icahn’s and the White House’s defense is utterly ridiculous and childish. It’s bananas even for a banana republic. Icahn may indeed never have signed an official document making him a special regulatory adviser to Drumpf, but if he has been given the specific clearance for a job he never was in, they probably both are in trouble. But it would be nice to see Icahn investigated and prosecuted by the state of New York and not by a federal bureau or congressional committee, because that would certainly be an impartial investigation and when convicted Drumpf can’t pardon him, if he’s still around by then.

  5. What Freya said!

  6. He definitely earned his spot!

  7. The only surprising thing about this is how totally UNsuprising it is.

  8. Thanks and AMEN tp all! 22

  9. It seems that Icahn has just demonstrated how not to win friends unless your friends are the very wealthy and can get in on the plan on the ground floor and make a ton of money with you.  The DOJ should be all over this but with Sessions as AG, that is not likely to happen.  Perhaps this is something that Schneiderman can handle in NY since that is Icahn’s base of operations.

Icahn did what Republicans like to do—make money by scamming the system and cheating!  For that, he is definitely due a parade.
