Hire American?

Other than kissing Putin’s ass, a prominent part of the campaign of Donald "Peach Pinocchio" Trump was "Buy American – Hire American".  That always struck me as strange, because all the third rate products he sells to sheeple, stupid enough to buy them, are of third world or Chinese manufacture.  Now we learn that he’s just as big a hypocrite about hiring Americans.

President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club needs to hire 35 waiters for this winter’s social season in Palm Beach, Fla.

Late last month, the club placed an ad on page C8 of the Palm Beach Post, crammed full of tiny print laying out the job experience requirements in classified ad shorthand. “3 mos recent & verifiable exp in fine dining/country club,” the ad said. “No tips.”

The ad gave no email address or phone number. “Apply by fax,” it said. The ad also provided a mailing address. It ran twice, then never again.

This was an underwhelming way to attract local job-seekers. But that wasn’t the point. The ads were actually part of Mar-a-Lago’s efforts to hire foreign workers for those 35 jobs…

From <Washington Post>

Joy-Ann Reid also covered the story.

I’d like to thank Joy-Ann for the wonderful job she did, filling in for Rachel Maddow, during her absence.  That said, welcome back Rachel, who returns this evening.

Considering the draconian anti-immigrant regulations that Trump and the Republican Rectum Reich are currently pushing, this is beyond excuse.  It’s just one more of the innumerable examples of IOKIYAR.

  1. Oh, well, he just uses “immigrant” to designate “brown and black people.”  So of course he doesn’t think he is a hypocrite.  He just wants black and brown workers as temps so he can dump them when the season is over.

I did listen to the following segment about the hotels – which I had read about – but I’m still glad I listened. Ve-ry in-ter-est-ing.

  2. Well, we know he’s a hypocrite and a pathological liar, so this doesn’t surprise me.What an A – – !!!!

    Thanks, Tom.

  3. I think we all knew that Drumpf put himself up for candidate for two reasons: to boost his enormous but extremely fragile man-child ego and to make as much money out of it as he possibly could. And when he didn’t give up his assets and made his children, who were supposed to run his business for him, his most important advisors, Republican Congress let him get away with using the presidential office as a lazy and immoral money-making scheme, an extension of his Drumpf business empire. And that of course has always included hiring cheap immigrant labor, and probably illegal immigrants too. Drumpf’s policies are nothing more than the screaming TV ads of a used-car salesman. You have to look under the bonnet to see how hypocritical they are

Jo-Ann Reid’s , Rachel Maddow’s and all other media host’s reportings are very admirable and they should keep them coming fast and thick because one day they’ll help tip the bucket. But until that day, this will be ignored and diverted from by the Drumpf administration. With bellicose talk against North Korea, for instance.

  4. During the campaign, the issue of those repugnant hats came up — they were made just about anywhere except the US.  Then some showed up with “Made in the US” labels, but not surprisingly, they cost more than the earlier versions.  All the time he was talking up a storm about American workers and bringing back jobs to the US.  Talk is cheap, especially when it has its origins in other countries where labour is cheaper.  Drumpf does not like his reputation tarnished . . . nor his flow of money.  He’s the best, most successful person on the planet.  Just ask him!  His business practices certainly do not support that at all

There, without doubt, needs to be another investigation into his flogging of the emollients clause, if it isn’t already a target.  Joy’s piece was excellent as was the piece following on the DC Post Office building.  Following that piece, there was another focusing on Drumpf and his businesses and business practices.  Follow the money and you will find a man making money from his position as national leader, and I am not referring to his salary!

Republicans must bite the bullet and impeach the bastard before he makes them totally untenable as a party.

    Resist, Persist and Remove!!!

    • I had forgotten all about those nauseating hats. ??He must be a very (mentally) sick puppy to secretly do whatever he feels like if it makes him money and then tell others in public they can’t do the same. He’s even sicker if he things he can get away with that because he’s president now and nobody will notice.

  5. Yes! There is an immigrant (once removed) who is ruining America!

  6. He uses anything to benefit himself!

  7. Thanks, amen, and stinky sticky hugs to all! 23

  8. Ah, thank you for bringing forth the truth about his connection with immigrants. When will he get it? His lack of respect for so much diversity is appalling and absolutely unacceptable in this nation of immigrants. His behavior on so many fronts is sending America down the rabbit hole where we will be anything but safe. AND so many people are realizing the truth now and are putting their efforts in the positive good for all. The Trumpster doesn’t realize it, but the good for all will even include him.
