It amazes me how clumsy improved vision is making me.  I have lots of muscle memory predicated on what I used to see.  Now that I see something different, I’ve become a bona-fide klutz.  I had a busy morning.  I set up all the appointments for my second eye, which is now scheduled for surgery on 8/28.  I also put in calls to my computer tech to help with some networking issues and to Providence Elder at Home to pick up my Advanced Directive.  I’m awaiting return calls.  I have nothing else scheduled this week, so, God willing, and if the creek don’t rise, I should stay in the saddle.  Finally, here is a pic of me in the Surgery Center.  Ladies, you might want to cover your eyes.  Stumpy is nekkid. Surprised smile

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 4:12 (average 5:23).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (MoveOn Channel): Kobach’s Commission

Don’t let Trump, Kobitch, or the Republican Reich take YOUR right to vote away! RESIST!!

From NY Times: Phillip Jones, whose job it is to court visitors to this city, spent months warning anyone who would listen: Economic pain will follow if Texas lawmakers pass laws seen as hostile to gay and transgender people.

But after Texas approved a law that critics said might keep people, on the basis of sexual orientation, from adopting children or serving as foster parents, even Mr. Jones was surprised at part of the fallout: a ban by California on taxpayer-funded travel to Texas.

Kudos! Californicate Texas! RESIST!!

From Daily Kos: The Senate Judiciary Committee notified Trump’s legal team today to:

“immediately take steps to preserve all relevant documents in the possession, custody, or control of the Trump Campaign related to Russian interference in the 2016 election, including documents related to the Trump campaign’s contacts with: Russian government officials, associates, or representatives; any individuals who purported to act or whom were believed to be acting on behalf of Russian government officials, associates, or representatives; anyone who might have been involved in or in receipt of information obtained as a result of Russia’s influence campaign.”

The letter is posted at the Committee’s website.

The Committee also requested "all communications to, from, or copied to the Trump campaign relating to” the following list of 41 individuals and entities, which includes one unexpected name, Jill Stein.

It was not unexpected to me. I’ve been documenting Traitor Jill’s collusion with Russia, since before the election.

  1. 4:35  I suppose he’s lunch today.

If I can handle pictures of Trump (et al.), seeing Stumpy nekkid is a piece of cake.  (I’m expecting new glasses myself – it will have to be next week now – so I suspect I will be very understanding.)

YT/MO – Not just Dems, but even Republican Secretaiies of State are resisting this – mostly on the basis of state laws which prohibit the release of information he wants.  That’s not saying there won’t be people who fall throughthe cracks (I’m sure there will), butit heartens me that this has been the reaction.  “You get what’s public record, and that is ALL” seems to be the most generous.

NYT – Kudos to California indeed.  I doubt whether the Republicans in Texas (or elsewhere) care a curse.  They only care about their hierarchies.  http://www.alternet.org/right-wing/answers-two-big-questions-about-trump-and-gop-keep-befuddling-progressives

DKos – Well, of course that was not unexpected to you.  What is unexpected, however, is that the Senate has come to this point.  How do you suppose they got here?  Are they planning to use her to take heat off of Trump, ya think?

Cartoon – Includes interns, I see.

    • Perhaps.  I don’t know how she was selected for the list, but I’m more inclined to think Democrats did it.  Why would Republicans want to challenge her after all she did in their behalf on Russia’s propaganda network? 10

  2. MO: Yes, Resist! Everyday!

NYT: As well they should. Kudos CA for stepping up, and Thank YOU!

DK: Glad to see the ball rolling on this. Get that shovel ready…the hole is getting deeper.

    Cartoon: I see it’s a family affair.

Great picture, Tom, I’m glad to see a smile too! Enjoy the rest of your day, relax and rest. Take good care, and Thanks, Tom.

    *Flagged abuser.
Joanne, keep up the GOOD work! I learn so much from you, and others. Take care.

  3. YT- I have signed numerous such petitions.  This is a reminder that the North won the war, but the South won Re-construction…and they are still fighting the war!
DK: Jill Stein, and Michael flynn, who’da thunk?  Yes, Tom, I recall your pointers about her well!  Glad to see that her name is there.  I have serious doubts that the papers, and whatever, will be provided!
Photo: Glad to see you smiling.  Yes, your brain has to re-learn your environment.
NYT: Some of my favorite people are from Ca. Rock on!

  4. Puzzle — 4:43  Not my day to rescue fishies!

YouTube — Where was the barf bag alert?  These two conniving cretins make me sick.  As I recall, the two voter fraud incidents from the last election involved Republicans  trying to vote twice.   Drumpf is just pissed because he didn’t win the popular vote, and I dare say that if a popular vote was done today, he would lose by even greater numbers.  Mind there still is no great love for Clinton.

NY Times — Kudos to California for taking a stand for human rights.

Daily Kos — Want to bet that some emails etc from the campaign and the régime disappear, if they have not already?  As far as Jill Stein, it is about time that her contacts were looked into.

Cartoon — Ain’t that the truth!

    Resist and Persist!!!

Good pic!  Stumpy is rather cute nekkid.  I am so glad that the surgery was a success and you are already planning the next one.  You are going to be the “totally new and improved” TC.  Take care.

I was listening to the news earlier and it seems that a Conservative federal politician went to the US and was interviewed by Faux Noise re the $10.5 M settlement to Omar Khadr whose human rights were violated as judged by the Supreme Court of Canada.  Conservatives (formerly Harper’s Harlots) are just stirring a big pot.  Trust them to go to the bastion of stupidity, Faux Noise.   http://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/canada/khadr-quarrel-tests-bipartisanship-on-nafta/ar-AAov2eS?li=AAadgLE&ocid=spartanntp

  5. The top picture much more appealing than the second, TC…

Grateful you are feeling good and doing well.

As for everything else, I’m just waiting for Mueller to order the arrest of all things trump.

  6. MOC: It never ceases to amaze me how Americans, so quick to protest when they feel the government infringes on their right to free speech, or to carry guns or any other right that is dear to them at the moment, care so little for their right to vote or for any other rights so interwoven with our idea of a democracy. That wouldn’t be because Kobach’s “voter fraud” commission (so rightly called voter purge commission by MoveOn) are only taking those rights away first from people of color, then the poor, then immigrants, then progressives…, would it? This is a rhetorical question of course, and the order or speed in which these rights are stolen from different groups is only there to warn you that soon it may happen near you, or to you.

NYT: California leads the way again; let’s hope other progressive states will follow soon. On the other hand it is sad to realize that laws like this Texan POS on the one hand and “retaliation” like California’s ban on the other, will only increase (one of) the enormous gap(s) that is dividing Americans these days. Where will it end?

DK: So agree with Lynn: it’s very likely indeed that (a lot) of papers/information has been destroyed prior to this notice. Is that the reason Republicans have tried to stall this request going out as long as possible? And that Jill Stein has gotten a notice too, isn’t unexpected, but it is a surprise to see it come from the senate committee that has been dormant for so long. Given it is a mainly Republican committee, we better remain on our guard and watch out for Stein being used as another deflection to take the attention away from the Drumpf mafia. Stein should get what she deserves for any collusion with Russia, but it should not take priority over that of the Drumpf team and administration.

Cartoon: And they look so cute and innocent too!

Just like you do in the picture you included, TomCat. And Stumpy looks fine and well-healed, no need to cover him up. Keep yourself rested and relaxed for the next operation in August, TomCat. Good to see they’re making haste with them now so they can get to correcting your double vision shortly after that.

  7. Thanks all TGIF Hugs! 22
