I was awake most of Monday night, because I had cotton mouth, as I was allowed no liquids.  The Surgery Center was efficient.  During the surgery, Christine told me that the cancer surgery had made the cataract more difficult to extract and the pain drops were wearing off.  When she applied more drops, I had a brief moment of intense burning, but otherwise there was no pain during the procedure.  I got to look through the eye this morning, and the effect is phenomenal. The vision is clear and colors are brilliant.  The computer screen is still blurry, because I have to wear my glasses, which are intended for distance, to protect the eye.  I can’t wait to get the other eye done.  This is today’s only article, because I have a follow-up appointment this afternoon.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 2:35 (average 4:19).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (GQ Channel): A Timeline of Treason | The Resistance with Keith Olbermann

It is what Keith says it is: a timeline of treason. RESIST!!

From The Rachel Maddow Show: Trump, Putin had second, undisclosed, hour-long encounter at G20

Ian Bremmer, political scientist and president of The Eurasia Group, talks with Rachel Maddow about the revelation of an undisclosed second encounter between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin that left US allies concerned and no official record.

Consider this in the context that Jared Kushner tried to establish a backchannel of communications with the Russian government, so that nobody in the US government would be aware of what is said. Why does the Trump Reich want to hide dealings with Russia from America? It seems clear that the second meeting between Trump and Putin included only a Russian translator was also a safe way to discuss quid pro quo in secret. That’s conspiracy. RESIST!!

From The New Yorker: Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell was rushed to the hospital late Monday night with what doctors diagnosed as a low white-vote count.

Doctors at Walter Reed Army Medical Center said that when McConnell arrived at the facility his white-vote count had fallen below fifty and he had gone into shock.

Dr. Harland Dorrinson, a physician at Walter Reed who is monitoring McConnell’s condition, called his low white-vote count “very serious.”

“Mitch McConnell needs a white-vote count of at least fifty in order to function,” he said. “If it falls below fifty and stays there for an extended period of time, he cannot survive.”

Dang Andy! So that explains it. This might give Bought Bitch Mitch a chance to socialize with his pal, Antonin Scalia. Winking smile RESIST!!

  1. 4:35  There is a new strain of red chili, hybridized in (of all places) Wales, which is so hot you can’t eat it.  One bite, it hits your throat, you lose the ability to breathe.  Of course it’s not intended for food but for medical applications.

So glad the surgery went well!  Flying colors indeed!

Keith #97 – KellyAnne Conjob will go to her grave denying that evidence is evidence.  We can only hope that some who see this will recognize it for the truth that it is.  (BTW, in 96, he ran over the evidence asking whether we yet have enough to impeach.  I think we do, but not enough to convict.  Besides, I want bigger things for him than impeachment now.)

Rachel – If you think this is bad, wait till you find out abour Rohrabacher.  Remember even before the election Kevin McCarthy “joked” that Rohrabacher was one of two getting paid by Putin, the other being Trump?  Well, guess what.

TNY – From Andy’s page to God’s eyes!

Cartoon – Doesn’t matter what, Republicare is associated with tombstones and death.

  2. KO: ‘Timeline of Treason’., aptly said, they are all dangerous. Makes Tom Clancey’s espionage novels look like children’s books! Like father, like son, all liars!! (and anyone associated with dt). Keep ’em comin’, Keith!!
    RM: Scary. Scary, indeed.!!!
    NYer: Hilarious! LOL, Andy.
Cartoon: Yea, now ain’t that the truth??
Relieved to read that you can see out of your operated eye now. That is really good, good news! Hope all goes well with your follow-up too. Enjoy your evening, take good care, and Thanks, Tom.

  3. Love Randy Rainbow!!

    Thanks, Joanne for this!

  4. Glad all went well with your surgery!

  5. Puzzle — 3:33  This one is all yours Puddy Tat!  Spice up the dawg you were hoping for but didn’t get to eat yesterday!

YouTube — Müeller should hire Keith to lay out timelines for the investigation since he so good at it!  It helps to focus the investigation and make things more clear.  I agree with JD on #96 having watched it yesterday.

TRMS — OMG!!!  I am impressed that Müeller had the ID etc of the 8th person.  Money laundering has been for years a big part of my work along with KYC, and undermines the economy, the law, and in this case, national security.  Drumpf knows no bounds — he thinks he is king!  Foreign leaders are right to be concerned.

The New Yorker — May McTurtle forever be plagued by the symptoms of low white-vote count — ” a feeling of hopelessness and uncontrollable sobbing”.

Cartoon — Amen, forever!  I heard today on our news that Drumpf actually “threatened” some senators by asking if they wanted to continue being senators.  Good thing it is the electorate of each state that elects their individual senators.  Drumpf may be able to influence any funding that senators receive from the RNC during election campaigns, but as far as I know, that’s it.  Drumpf is a USDA grade A asshole!

    Resist and Persist!!!

This is a video of George Carlin talking about Republicans back in 1988. Like usual, George is funny, but he sure does have them pegged. Enjoy!!!

  6. So glad your cataract operation worked out so well and has given you back vision in one eye to start with, TomCat. Hope the follow up was fine too.

    Next:

Your gorgeous mug arrived today! Thank you so much, TomCat. It’s wonderful and has perfect lettering. I’ll treasure it forever and I’m sure to take it Down Under with me next year. I had to make a selfie, or footsie if you like, because my husband won’t be home for a few days yet to do it, and I doubt we’ll have time to make a picture next week because we’re leaving soon after for another Aussie month. But I’m sure you’ll recognize hedgehog feet when you see them.
Because I’m almost always the last in to comment, I doubt if many will see this. So feel free to put the picture up again if you want more people to see what a wonderful Big Mouth Mug you’ve sent me.

Keith Olbermann #97: It took him a little longer than I expected, but timeline expert Olbermann was as good as his word and has provided us with the whole Timeline of Treason. To date, that is, because this line isn’t finished yet, I bet. This video should be cast in gold and Keith commemorated in the hall of fame as soon as Drumpf, Pence and the rest of them are impeached and/or locked up for good.

Rachel Maddow: I was up late last night and came across CNN Europe who also had Ian Bremmer on to give an update on this dinner-meeting, which was first denied and now talked down to insignificant and only 15 minutes by the White House. there was also another gentleman of importance there (sorry, forgot his name) who linked this ‘unchaperoned’ meeting with America suddenly, and without warning, withdrawing its support to anti-Assad (and anti-Russia) rebels in Syria yesterday. America has relied heavily on these rebels to fight the Da’esh, and now that’s done for the most part, they leave these rebels to be annihilated by Syrian government troops, assisted by Russian airstrikes. It now must be clear to all but the GOP: if you leave Drumpf alone for a minute to talk unprepared and off the record to another world leader, he sells American interests for a dollar and a pat on the back.

TNY: 03Brilliant, Andy! I especially liked that doctors couldn’t find additional white votes that are compatible with McConnell”. But despite a white-vote count below fifty, Mitch has enough strength to keep his teeth sunk in Obamacare. They want to just repeal it without replacing it, leaving 32 million people without insurance over the next ten years while still having the premiums of insurance skyrocket. Deficits may go down a little, but that won’t last long when the uninsured end up in the emergency wards again. Taxpayers (not the 1%) end up footing the bill again.

    Cartoon: For now…indeed.

  7. Thanks all!  Very tired, but in the saddle hugs! 12
