I read Robert Hamner’s short story and have seen the Star Trek episode many times. I could not agree more. It’s not just Trump. Almost the entire Republican Party refused to admit it’s happening, let alone do anything to stop it. RESIST!!

Spot on, Keith! For me, it’s not, nor has been, just a normal day at the office, @WH, (everyday). It’s an emotion that seeths and is directed at the traitor(s), who blithely think it’s another normal day at the office. It’s not. And I feel it every day since the Führer took office, and with his cronies. It’s a foreboding.

Keith #95 – Yes, I remember that Star Trek episode also (I was older than eight, though). “Sending our freedoms in to be destroyed.” Yes, that is exactly how I feel. Analogy – whether as exposition or as story – still communicates best, doesn’t it?

Sorry to be a pain JD, but your French needs a hand — It can be “résister et persistent” or “résister à et persistent”. The infinitive “résister” is used as “à” is then implied — resist to something. Or this:
“résister aux Drumpf et aux politiques du parti républicain
persistent”
However you have used the 3rd person plural for resist and the 2nd person plural for persist, which you would not mix like that.
I know, I am a pain in the ass so I’ll shut up now . . . or you can tell me to “taise toi!” or “ferme la bouche!”

What Google said was that the imperative is exactly the same as the indicative except with no subject. Clearly I was more careful to get the second person on the second verb than on the first one. Frankly. I thought it looked funny too, but I have romped through so many languages where different categories of verb conjugate differently, I didn’t question it hard enough. At least the point is made.
On the other hand, it could be a look-out post for seafaring marauders.

Keith Olbermann: When Keith quoted the former FBI agent, now associate dean at the Yale law school Asha Asha Rangappa “If the president intends to stay true to his oath…”, I could only wince. The president knew exactly what the Russians had done to make it possible for him to take that oath – well, as exact as Drumpf is capable of understanding anything this complex, that is – and I’m certain he never intended to uphold this oath then or now other than he saw fit. And that doesn’t include serving the country or the people. A taste of Armageddon indeed. He, Putin, and the GOP must be stopped.

When you think about how the Republicans are so pro-life, this whole idea flies in its face. That said, the GOP is only pro-life until the baby is born. After that, anything goes. The lack of freedoms already exists but we must ensure that these freedoms are returned and citizens to not become mere political pawns anymore than they already are. Resist and Dump Drumpf! . . . and all the Republicans.

I hope your nap was refreshing and your appointment successful. I am so looking forward to you having some clarity in your eyesight! Thoughts and prayers. Not long ago, I finished lunch which was leftovers from last night’s dinner — saffron rice with a stew of lamb. lentils, tomatoes and okra. I had never had okra before and it was good. I am certainly expanding my food repertoire with all the Persian cooking. Our classes went well as we sat outside under an umbrella. There was a good breeze and not too hot. Sareena likes to play catch me with the hose and she got sopping wet from me and from her mum. Ah, to be 8, almost 9 years old. She is doing several weeks of summer school to help keep up her French and improve her English reading and writing skills. Good thing she is enjoying it.
Trump, or his associates, maybe both, were fully aware of the Russian interference, and satisfied with the results. He would like for the investigations to go away, and our Republicans in Congress probably would too.
“If the president intends to stay true to his oath….” (Lona, I just saw that that is the same quote you pulled from the story). This president stays true to nothing…beyond that which he sees as his most immediate need, in, or at, any given moment. A recently seen cartoon shows a monstrously silly little Trump-child, grinning broadly, clutching his hands to his chest, and saying, about Putin “He gets me!” While Putin sits next to the fool, with a cold, dry look in his eyes, saying “I got him!” That is apocryphal!
It does seem that we have long, now passed some tipping point on this asshole, and I do hope that the FBI is just biding its time, dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s!!!!! And wondering what else Trump, and or his spoor, will drop into their laps.
