  1. Bill is so spot on! Well said, Bill, well said!

    Cartoon: Yup!!

Hope that you have a relaxing day, take good, good care, and Thanks, Tom.

*Just saw your link, JL, I'll look at it next.

  2. 3:57 and nothing to eat.  Bummer.

Bill – "The tragedy of the Trump voter is that they never learn to stop hating the underprivileged and start hating the overprivileged."  Now that's a meme.  I'll be working on it.

Cartoon – They desecrate the flag if they so much as look crosseyed at it.

  3. I'm so glad to see you posting from home again, TomCat. Welcome Home!

But 'just out of hospital after surgery' + 'a pancreatitis not fully recovered from' + 'in quite a bit of pain' ≠  "a major load of tasks to complete today". I can understand you don't want to be in bed right now, not after having been there for longer than bearable while in hospital, but you really should take it easy and not be worrying about your to-do-lists right now. Lynn has done a wonderfull job covering for you and Joanne and Nameless have done their bit to keep going smoothly too, and I'm sure they'll continue to do so for another few days so you can concentrate on recovering fully.

Sorry to be such a Mom, but I'd really like to keep my favorite feline giving Republicans their due for a long time to come.

  4. I second that!  TAKE  IT . EASY!  We need you to be healthy.

  5. Good to see you back in the saddle.

    HEADS UP:

There will be no coming "Friday Fun".  I'm heading up to Illinois on Monday.  I had scheduled Mom's postponed annual physical (we have routinely done them around her Veterans' Day B-Day – but w/ all the activities for her 100th we put it off) for Tuesday.  And this past week she said she wanted to discuss beginning Hospice Care w/ her PCP at that time.

Of course w/ Mom being 100 y/o now, I long ago knew this day would eventually come.  But it'll still be a bittersweet visit this week.

But she's still as sharp as tack, and seems to be doing well, so I don't see anything in the very near future.  But it's not up to me …

    • I know that conversation all too well having done that with my mother.

Have a safe journey.  Give your mum a big Canuck hug from me!  She has to be a great lady . . . look at the off spring she produced!

    • Have a safe journey, Nameless.

I can understand you'r not looking forward discussing Hospice Care with her, but she sounds like a very sharp centenarian lady indeed and must feel she needs to have things in place even if there seems to be no urgency now. It must give her comfort to know that she can still arrange it herself, with your help, and that she will be taken care of well in a place of her own choice. But a bittersweet visit, as you say, nevertheless.

Your mother is a wonderful and strong woman, I imagine one who has always taken the bull by the horns and great at arranging things. Wish her all the best for me.

    • Congratulations to your mom!

    • Nameless, I wish the circumstances allowed me to wish you a great trip.  Your mother's quality is evident in the character of her son.  May you accomplish what you need to get done with as little pain as is possible.  Hugs!

    • Well, I can't say it any better than everyone else has.  My Mom's move to care was percipitated by a broken hip, after which she went into care and decided to just stay there, even after she recovered to the point that I could not keep up with her and her walker.  So we bypassed that discussion, but I am sure you and your Mom will do it superlatively well.

  6. Puzzle — 3:52  Your train was speeding right along!

I don't want to step on your toes so let me know if you're back FT or not.  If not, I will do some OTs.  I didn't do one today because I was too tired and I had church etc.

Bill Maher — "…leave U out because God knows they will."  So true! . . . and humourous the way Bill says it.

    Cartoon — I agree . . . Republicans routinely desecrate the flag.

    Resist and Persist!!!

I just ate a most delicious piece of cheese/herb and garlic focaccia.  There was so much fresh garlic in/on it that I should not have problems with those blood sucking Republicans for several days, at least.

    Welcome back.  Don't overdo things!

    • Wow!  Maybe we can just encircle congress with garlic, what do you think?

      • It should be good against blood suckers!

      • Do you think anyone might suspect something when all the Republicans in Congress dropped dead?  (How many Reps would it take for a quorum in the House if all the Republicans dropped dead?)  May this House be safe from vampires!  (Oh, and I forgot – what about the lobbyists?)

I can JUST HEAR all the right wing pundis if all Republicans dropped dead along with Joe Manchin and Cory Booker – "See?!??? BOTH SIDES DO IT!!"

    • Squatch I am back to FT, sort of.  I'm not fully recovered, and hane a few months of medical mayhem coming up, between my first catteract surgery, and all the appointments I had to put on hold because of my strained chest muscles and Pancreatitis, so whenever you can, I MORE than appreciate your contributions.

Let me know if the garlic works!

  7. TC, may you have physical happiness, mental happiness, be free from danger, and have ease of well being!

  8. Thanks all!  Hugs!!
