It’s that time of week again, and I’m happy to share three excellent video clips from Bill’s show last night.  Enjoy!!

Monologue: Constant Covfefe

"Binge watching the fall of the Roman Empire, set to the music of Benny Hill…" Love it!

Ass-Kisser of the Month

If Trump’s aides tell him that’s Bill making those absurd complimants, Bill will have a fan for life.

New Rule: Get Low

Leading Democrats need to stop caring how things look and start caring about how things are.

RESIST!!

  1. Hadn't seen these this week.
    Did you see this?
Bill Maher apologizes for using racial slur during 'Real Time' interview

    • I did post this thought elsewhere and have had no response as yet – but it seems to me that his usage may have been as benign as it could be (other than not using the word at all).  The gist if what he was saying is that he does not consider himself good enough (i.e., strong enough, having enough stamina) to work as a field hand.  I don't see that he was intending to deprecate anyone except himself.

  2. Bill I-II – Well said.  I think I'm glad you didn't include the segment for which he may be in trouble.

Bill III – While I understand and, to an extent, share Bill's frustration, I can't fully agree with his solution. Our base is not like the Republican base.  Our base will not respond well to the kind of aggression which is Republicans' stock in trade.  Of course, he did say there is a middle ground – yes, there is, and we certainly need to look for it.  But the fact is that Nancy Peolosi was not wrong IF you consider how the evidence will appear to this Republican Congress, or let me say this Reoublican House of Representatives, which is the body that would have to do the impeaching.  And BTW I do not think that Adam Schiff is being idle.  But, unlike Trump, he's a man who does not blurt out all he knows.

  3. Bill is generally spot on.  He takes current events and couches them in humour but he is always making a point.

Thanks Pat for the heads up on Bill's faux pas.  I knew there was a controversy but I did not know what it was.  It was inexcusable but I think it was not intentional and at least he apologised.

    Resist and Persist!!!

  4. Three excellent excerpts from a great show which sadly also included a huge mistake, I gather. I'm glad you didn't post it, TomCat, even if it still had been available, which I guess it isn't, but that unintentionally racial faux pas for which Bill sincerely apologized would have taken away from the masterful pieces you put on offer here.

I can really share his frustration and that of millions of other Americans over the meekness with which Democrats accept their beatings time and time again. Perhaps they do not need to stoop as low as Republicans and kick them in the genitalia when the go low, but a swift kick in the butt would surely be in order. And a little less walking on eggs could do the trick too if they remembered those are Republican eggs they're stepping on.

  5. Bill I- No mention of possible Alzheimer's?

Bill II- Nancy Pelosi has been a drag on the country for far too long!

Bill III- Joanne is right, it is the Rethuglican congress that, at this point, has to bring charges, and it will not even try to do so, unless the "evidence" is airtight, and on steroids!
