I’d like to say yesterday went well, but my Ophthalmologist’s front office really screwed the pooch.  The doctor was waiting for me at a different office, where they have all the equipment needed for both tests.  However the only way I had been notified was in an the fine print of an online appointment reminder notice at their web portal.  That’s the wrong way to inform someone who can barely see!  So I had to reschedule the main test, and a technician performed the small test that required only partial dilation.  When I was done, I asked Tri-Met if the could move up my ride home and they got me 45 minutes sooner.  I was frustrated and exhausted from recent heat and humidity, so I just posted that I was OK, and went to bed.  Except for a meal break and Republican depository breaks, I stayed there until morning.  I’m feeling recovered, but groggy.  The poll change and Monthly Report will be a few days late.  I’ll finish ASAP.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 4:11 (average 5:47).  To do it. click here.  How did you do?

From YouTube (GQ Channel): Has Michael Flynn Already Flipped on Trump? | The Resistance with Keith Olbermann

From Keith’s mouth to God’s ear. RESIST!!

Also from YouTube (GQ Channel): The GOP Must Take Responsibility for Trump | The Resistance with Keith Olbermann

Why don’t they? This is likely to be the last time that Republican leaders will ever have an opportunity to strip mine all the nation’s wealth, give it to billionaires,  and create a totalitarian state. If they desert Trump, their chance goes with him. May they rot in hell. RESIST!!

From YouTube (MoveOn Channel): Robert Reich: 7 Reasons Trump’s Corporate Tax Cuts Make No Sense

Of course the Reich in the Left, Robert Reich, is right and the Reich on the Right, the Republican Reich, is anti-American. RESIST!!

From All In: Report: From start, Trump pushed to lift Russia sanctions

  1. 3:43  Watch the claws, I fear it might "pop."

Petition regardging "murder insurance," i.e., to protect "Stand your ground" shooters from consequences.
Having worked in insurance myself for about ten years, I can't be shocked that this is happening.  But I am shocked – or at least surprised – that Chubb is one of the companies.  Chubb has maintained an excellent reputation for a long time, and I kind of hate to see them flush that down the tubes.

Oh, lord, what a mixup!  I'm so sorry!

Keith #81 – Interesting, certainly possible, but, as he says, highly speculative.  But we can hope.

Keith #82 – It's quite possible that they are not worried about being "damned in history" because they know there will be no history.  Certainly they are xoing their best to make that true.

Reich – It's easy to forget how the graduated tax system works anyway.  If the top tax bracket is, just for example, 40%, NO ONE pays 40% taxes EVER, because the 40% is only applied to the difference between the next highest bracket and the actual total.  Everything below that is taxed at the rates of lower brackets.  But, of course, that is factual, so no Republicans are aware of it (they probably don't do their own returns – or understand how to do their own returns!)

All In – Apparently the prime idiocy at Yahoo News – which does exist – comes from the commenters rather than the staff.  Issakoff certainly appears to know which way is up.

Cartoon – Oh, boy, that is a good one.  "Pseudo-atheist."  Yes.  You know why God created atheists, don't you?

  2. KO: Pleeeeez say it's so!!

KO2: Your comment: your next to last sentence is what I say/think every day.  "I am an American".

    All In: om.g. Scary!!!

Sad to read of the mess up re: your appt. Hope that this day is better for you. Take care, and Thanks, Tom.
    Gotta run!

  3. Puzzle — 3:48  Puddy Tat, JD saved you from putting your claws through the walls of the Bouncy Castle, and I am the rear guard.  If you punctured it, you'd be space born and then what would we do?

YouTube — I saw these yesterday when I was doing some research.  . . . and yes I listened to them.  I could not wait!  We can only hope that Flynn has flipped on Drumpf.  Speculative it might be, but it does make a lot of sense.

YouTube — The image of Nero watching as Rome burned is so apropos to Drumpf.  I can visualise him sitting on his golden throne in Trump Tower casting his eyes down to the streets below where average Americans walk in the ashes of their lives all precipitated by his greed, his lies which are so numerous that Noah would not have had space for them on the ark so he took animals in pairs, and his belligerence.  I really do sympathise with you Americans.  And Drump, he is IMO, an enemy of the state.  As usual, good commentary from Keith.

Robert Reich — Robert Reich is, like always, on the button.  Drumpf and Republicans are only interested in their own financial gain and that of their close CEO buddies.  I can hear Drumpf now saying about the middle and working class Americans, "let them eat cake."

All In — Quid pro quo = treason in the lexicon describing Drumpf's actions.  I hope Mueller will nail Drumpf's ass to the wall, as well as those of his minions!

Cartoon — In the beginning, Robespierre was not the Republican supply-side athelist but through the Reign of Terror he certainly moved that way.  Here are some quotes which are attributed to Robespierre that show just how un-Republican (US Republican) he was, at least in the beginning:

The secret of freedom lies in educating people, whereas the secret of tyranny is in keeping them ignorant.

The king must die so that the country can live.

Any law which violates the inalienable rights of man is essentially unjust and tyrannical; it is not a law at all.

    Persist and Resist!!!

What an ordeal you had!  I hope you gave them a piece of your mind and that the doctor's office learned from the feedback.  They, of all people, should understand how stupid this all was.  At least you are better rested, but that has now necessitated another outing.  I am sitting here with my big boy, Primo snuggled in beside me like usual while the other two are upstairs on the bed snuggled together.  Bliss is having furbabes who love you.
  4. I'm so sorry the appointment yesterday went so terribly wrong, TomCat. I hope the main test can be done shortly, quickly and with good results so this mishap won't interfere with the date set for your first eye operation.

Keith Olbermann #81: If Flynn is talking, something that doesn't seem too far fetched, then I sure hope he doesn't get any immunity for it in return, unless the talk leads to the definitive and rapid nailing of Drumpf. Even then Flynn should not get away with full immunity; he must do some time in jail if the world order is to turn right again.

Keith Olbermann #82: "They could have stopped this" may well be the epitaph on the headstone of the GOP, were it not that by the time this drama has played itself out, and the bomb they own has gone off, there is no one left to engrave it.

Robert Reich: It's the third time that a Republican President's tax plans that give corporations large tax cuts, and cuts on education, welfare and housing to pay for it, will start America on the race to the economic bottom. Only this time the plan will do it in overdrive. Yet Americans have learned nothing, a large group refusing to see or believe that this will benefit the already filthy rich only at their own expense. So sad that so many people need to feel it (again) to believe it. Oh well, they soon will. Let's hope they start to believe it before the next elections.

AI: I'm almost starting to feel sorry for all those committees and bureaus investigating the wrongdoing of Drumpf and his acolytes. Not a day goes by without some new revelation being added to an already yugely long list, and all these investigators hardly know which way to investigate first and give priority to. There seems to be more than enough to impeach/imprison the whole lot of them, but clues are not enough where irrefutable evidence is needed. And with Republicans behind the steering wheel of most committees it seems unlikely that the digging for that evidence goes deep or fast; possibly because some are them are afraid that they're digging their own graves at the same time.

Cartoon: Not a nice prospect for any revolution.

  5. Sorry to hear of your eye travails.  I do hope they learn something from it (and apologized profusely) while you calmly and patiently POINTED OUT THE ERRORS OF THEIR STUPIDITY!  (I know I would have had to bite my tongue.)

Not only does Sec. Reich make excellent points – he does it in an easy-to-understand and entertaining way.

When he was Sec. of Labor, for Clinton, I had NO IDEA he was such a talented sketch artist.

Reminds me of Sen. Al Franken's ability to draw the map of the United States … FREEHAND!

I have a friend in the Twin Cities who actually got to see him when he did it at the Minnesota State Fair:

  6. Thanks all.  Hugs.  It won't interfere with the surgery, but I had to reschedsule my Prosathetist tro July to make it fit.
