Yesterday, I was so tired that I actually thought it was Saturday.  I finally realized my error after lunch.  It's a good thing I did, or I would not have scheduled my follow up with Amanda (Prosthetist).  The too hot for May weather has returned.  I expect a high of 90°.  The Portland Rose Festival just began, waking me up last night with a fireworks display.  Historically, the Weather always turns to crap for the Rose Festival, but not this year.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today's took me 3:00 (average 4:49).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From Daily Kos: This humorous bit takes only several seconds to watch, but the laughter/smile will most likely linger much longer. On Thursday, Jordan (@JordanUhl) posted a hilarious GIF clip on Twitter, adding:

I don't care if this is fake I'm pretending it's real

0527TrumpPope

Trump considers the Pope to be a soft liberal pussy. In the absence of absolute proof that it's fake, we have to conclude this is a real Trump attempt to grab a pussy. RESIST!!

From NY Times: The Democratic defeat in a hard-fought special House election in Montana on Thursday highlighted the practical limitations on liberal opposition to President Trump and exposed a deepening rift between cautious party leaders, who want to pick their shots in battling for control of Congress in 2018, and more militant grass-roots activists who want to fight the Republicans everywhere.

Rob Quist, the Democratic nominee in Montana, staked his campaign on the Republican health care bill, but he still lost by six percentage points, even after his Republican opponent for the state’s lone House seat, Greg Gianforte, was charged with assaulting a reporter on the eve of the election.

The margin in this race was relatively small in a state that Mr. Trump carried by more than 20 percentage points last year. But Mr. Quist’s defeat disappointed grass-roots Democrats who financed nearly his entire campaign while the national party declined to spend heavily on what it considered, from the outset, an all-but-lost cause in daunting political territory.

The DNC is dead wrong. Failure to fight Republicans anywhere gives moderate voters everywhere the impression that the Democratic Party does not care about them. On the other hand, we may have lost the Montana war, but we won enough of the battles to make it worthwhile. We made the Republican Party spend millions more than grass-roots Democrats did to defend a supposedly "absolutely safe" seat. Furthermore, the Gianforte body slam audio will be hung around the neck of Republican candidates everywhere, because that act actually increased Gianforte's support among Montana Republicans, who sent him $100,000 within 24 hours. RESIST!!

From Raw Story:

But Media Matters and others have been debunking Hannity’s fake news for years. Here are 5 of his more baseless theories:

1. CIA framed Russia for hacking the DNCFox News reported on Russia’s hacking the DNC as well as the January 6 Intel report. [Faux Noise delinked] Yet, less than 48 hours after a Wikileaks dump of the Vault 7 documents (March 7), Hannity began citing Breitbart’s reporting of the scoop: “WikiLeaks: CIA Uses ‘Stolen’ Malware To ‘Attribute’ Cyberattacks To Nations Like Russia.”

The Fox News host was joined on his show by retired 9/11-truther [Fascist delinked] and torture proponent Army Lieutenant Colonel Anthony Schaffer.

“Sean, we did it. Not me, but our guys, former members of NSA, retired intelligence officers used these tools to break in there and get the information out. That’s what the Democrats don’t want to talk about because it doesn’t fit their narrative,” Shaffer said.

“You’re telling me this whole Russian story that the media has been running with for months and months and months — that it was our people that did it, and they put the fingerprints of the Russians on it?” Hannity asked.

“That’s right,” Shaffer said, although he then admitted on-air he had no proof.

Barf Bag Alert!!

What hogwash! I shared one. Click through for the other four.  RESIST!!

  1. 4:59  I'm moving slowly in general today.

Who knew that Portland, OR would end up in the tropics.  My Mom, who grew up there, is probably spinning in her grave.

DKos – There's that ditch again!  (Not to burst your bubble, but look closely at the Oaf of Office's shirt cuff in both views.)

NYT – I certainly agree that spending no money in hopeless races convinces the voters there that we don't care about them, and we can't have that.  Alas, it's also true that our finds are not unlimited.  If only!  But another side effect of Republican trickle-up policy is that we end up with Democrats who simply cannot afford to give what the party needs.

Raw Story – Yes – While we were all looking at Alex Jones, Hannity has been there all the time.  This most recent Democrat he has been trying to slander, however, has a family, and they are NOT happy.  What scum!

Cartoon – Republicans no doubt stole his property.  That was the point in the cases of the vast majority of men who were tried, convicted, and hanged.  All their property was forfeited to the state, leaving their families destitute.  Which is why Giles Corey in Salem is my hero.  Women, of course, weren't allowed to own property, so the motive in their cases was pure insane spite.

  2. DK: The Pope was not impressed. at.all. lol.

NYT: What a shame for Montana. Can't believe he got 100K from the state Repugs! He should have given some of it to the new reporter he body slammed. Nah….that'd never happen. (sad).

RS: I don't listen or watch Faux news, but I smell lies, lies and more lies.

    Cartoon:  Sad.

Suit against Hillary Clinton over Benghazi deaths and emails is dismissed:

Shame you didn't get much sleep, hopefully you will later on. It's muggy here too, but rain is expected tomorrow, and for a few day thereafter. Take care, and Thanks, Tom.

Company coming in, I always feel sadness on Memorial Day. Here's a video to view, if you wish.
Hymn to the Fallen, John Williams

    • The National Memorial Day Concert on PBS usually at 7 and repeated at 8:30 local time, Sunday, May 28.  Bring tissues.  Preferably a box.

  3. Puzzle — 3:54  Don't eat any fish from that stream Puddy Tat.  With the roll back on EPA regulations, a big corporate polluter just orchestrated a large toxic dump.

Daily Kos — The thought is just gross.  JD, I see what you mean by the shirt sleeve.

NY Times — "…Montana Republicans, who sent him [Gianforte] $100,000 within 24 hours." — 'Rethuglicans' is an apt name for party of 'no' members.  Body slams, healthcare slams, Medicaid and Medicare slams, SNAP slams . . . Republicans are slamming the very people that voted them into power — the white middle and working class.  They don't give a rat's ass about anyone except their millionaire and billionaire benefactors.

Raw Story — Hannity is yet another liar and provocateur that isn't worth the paper his contract is on.  Unfortunately, too many people listen to this POS.  I am very glad that his ratings are falling and that advertisers are backing off.  I hope he joins Rush Limbaugh that way.  They can lie to each other.

Cartoon — In 1487, the Malleus Maleficarum was written by a Catholic clergyman and published in Speyer, Germany.  It outlined among other things, how to identify witches and penalties for witchcraft.  It was a best seller for over 200 years, second only to the Bible.  Whether Europe or the US, witchcraft was most often taken as the wrong of women.  Is that what it means to be bewitched by a woman?

    Resist and Persist!!!

  4. Weather in the northern hemisphere seems to be too hot for the time of year everywhere, TomCat. But that won't prevent Drumpf from walking out of the G20 climate deal of course.

DK: When I first came across this on the internet yesterday, after having seen how Drumpf shoved the PM of Montenegro aside, arm-wrestled Macron and made himself, the biggest waster of American taxpayer's money, ridiculous by berating the gathered heads of state for being mean to these same American taxpayers for not spending enough of their budgets on defense, I believed for one moment that this clip was real. It is so well done and so terribly funny.

NYT: You win some and then you lose some, but the DNC should not for one moment stop backing each and every Democratic candidate, no matter how poorly the outlook is. Six percentage points difference is quite a lot less than 20% points and the next time it might just be the other way around, especially after people have physically and financially experienced felt what Drumpf care has in store for them.

RS: Sigh…No matter how well they do it or how hard they try, by debunking Hannity's fake news the few remaining left-leaning media left aren't even making a dent in this Faux News hero's shining armor as far as his brainwashed admirers are concerned. He still has the ratings and he'll defend Drumpf and his cronies no matter what. The only thing that will get rid of Hannity is the impeachment and conviction of Drumpf and all his associates.

Cartoon: Republicans would have loved to get rid of witch Clinton as easily.

  5. Thanks all!  Hugs!!

  6. So the European countries have now seen America,s Burden! How unfortunate. What a terrible Embarrassment for thecountry! An Crude and Ignorant Lout , who pushes others aside, and has no concept  of polite  behaviour. .,Hang on America,it will surely get worse!
