I figure I can get this started before leaving to my Oncologist and finish up when I return.  This is today’s only article.

I was very pleased with my Oncologist.  His preventive strategy is exactly what I wanted and expected.  I’ll set up the cat scans and his office will call me the next day with the results. Here he is.

From NY Times: A large crowd of students walked out of the Notre Dame commencement ceremony on Sunday in protest of the speaker, Vice President Mike Pence, who delivered a speech that mixed platitudes about bright, dream-filled futures with a lengthy rebuke of political correctness on college campuses.

As several dozen students in caps and gowns quietly exited the graduation ceremony, the vice president praised Notre Dame, one of the nation’s most prominent Catholic universities, as “a vanguard of freedom of expression and the free exchange of ideas…

…The protest began as Mr. Pence began his remarks at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Ind., where degrees were conferred on 2,081 students. Online video of the ceremony showed a large number of young people filing out of the stadium as the vice president began to congratulate the graduates and their families. Around them, the audience erupted into a mixture of boos and applause.

Kudos to the students. Follow their example. RESIST!!

From Washington Post: U.S. Rep. Al Green said the phone calls came in not long after he called for the impeachment of President Trump.

“Hey, Al Green, we got an impeachment for you. It’s going to be yours,” one caller said. “Was actually gonna give you a short trial before we hang your n—– ass.”

“You’re not going to impeach anybody, you f—— n—– … You’ll be hanging from a tree,” another one said. “I didn’t see anybody calling for the impeachment of your n—– Obama when he was born in Kenya. He’s not even an American. So f— you, n—–.”

Aha! Reaching out to minorities, the way Republicans do it. I bet AG KKK Beauregard squealed with hooded glee! RESIST!!

  1. Dr. Curti has impressive credentials: Georgetown Medical School, then U of Pennsylvania for Internal Medicine residency then back to Georgetown for Oncology fellowship.

    And glad to hear that you sound like you're in sync w/ his approach.

    Wow!  Thank you for sharig this with us!  It makes your confidence contagious, as it were.

    NYT – I saw one of the videos.  I particularly liked the young lady with the rainbow all over the top of her cap who simply stood and turned around to the rainbow would be staring him in the face.  She was in the front row, too.

    DKos – Thank you for linking to this.  There's not enough material here for a "pithy progressive" and I'm short of time to research.  The best part is that it's a very blue area, one of those where getting the nomination is a virtually certain win.

    WaPo – I here there's a new candy flavor going around: peach-mint.  Under the "M" brand.  Right.

    Cartoon – Ugh.  Yeah.  They thought the world revolved around them.  White supremacists still think so.

    NY Times — I've seen several articles both before the event and at the event.  Kudos to the young lady who stood with her back to Pence the entire time with a PRIDE cover on her cap.  There were others who got up and walked out when he was starting.  One fellow wore a PRIDE flag as a cape.  They all deserve kudos for taking a stand publicly.  I hope there are no repercussions to the students.

    Daily Kos — Kudos to this young man for recognising a need and stepping up, especially when dealing with a DINO.

    Washington Post — I saw this and was absolutely sick about it.  These racist curs are the scum of the earth.  Green is calling for impeachment based on the illegalities that Drumpf and his cabal have perpetrated.  This is not a racial issue, but a legal issue.  Unfortunately, the bone-headed curs don't know, understand or want to understand that all people are created equal.  They might want to review the Declaration of Independence where it states:

    "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

    Cartoon — What JD said!  You'd think the human race would have learned long ago, but no, it keeps making the same mistakes!

    Question: Every time I see a picture of Sessions, I have a vision of a faerie or imp, a black hearted one to be sure.  What do you think?  Ears that stick out, a pointy mouth, a roundish face, a bit of evil in his eyes.

     

    Resist and Persist!!!

    I am glad that your appointment went so well and that the two of you are on the same page.  I trust it has been warm and muggy there today.  Yesterday was 28 C (82 F) and quite muggy.  Right now, it is 28 C (82 F) with a breeze and 28% humidity.  I thought tomorrow was going to be cloudy with some rain, but the forecast does not support that, only cooler than today.  I have to take the babes to the vet's tomorrow so I'd just as soon have cool with no rain.

     

    • The students asked (and got) permission in advance, provided they were not disruptive.  Walking out was not considered to be disruptive.  They should be OK.  Someone there has a brain.

    • Whenever I see a photo of Beauregard Sessions I think of either Granny from the "Beverly Hillibies":

      • He' being referred to on line as the Keebler Elf so much that I suspect if one googled "Keeble Elf" he would come up.  But I love that picture of Granny.  The expression is perfect.

      • Granny was to kiind, and the on ly time an Elf would make Sessions is in the tree with a half moon. devil

  5. Sign the petition to MSNBC: Keep Lawrence O'Donnell on the air

    MSNBC executives plan to cancel Lawrence O'Donnell highly-rated prime time television show "The Last Word" after his contract expires on June 4th.

    This comes at a time when MSNBC has made some dubious personnel changes, hiring Fox News veteran Greta van Susteren and former Bush spokesperson  Nicole Wallace—which suggests that the network is hoping to appease the Trump Administrations.

    No one would love to see Lawrence O'Donnell gone more than President Trump. In 2011, O'Donnell called on NBC to fire Donald Trump from the Apprentice because of his racist birther campaign against Obama.

    Trump even once threatened to sue O'Donnell for defamation, but never followed up on that threat.

    Sign the petition to MSNBC: Keep Lawrence O'Donnell on the air.

  6. Nice to virtually meet Dr. Curti. He's obviously a cat lover besides a good doctor because you were so well in sync, TomCat. Now let's hope all he has to do is keep a CAT-scan on you and you will never enter into one of his clinical trials.
