It’s another day, and I was busy this morning with paper work.  I also composed my grocery order in time for Store to Door to call for it.  As usual, another day in the Republican Rectum Reich has brought a new scandal.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today;s took me 4:50 (average 6:32).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (GQ Channel): Here’s How Trump Could Already Be Prosecuted | The Resistance with Keith Olbermann

Nixon was impeached and almost charged for covering up corruption and a 3rd rate burglary. Slick Willie was impeached and almost charged for covering up a BJ. What does Trump deserve for covering up high treason? That’s right, but Republicans refuse to obey the law.  RESIST!!

From The New Yorker: Three men alleged to be prominent Russian spies inexplicably gained access to the Oval Office last week and held a high-level meeting there, according to reports.

Eyewitnesses to the meeting said that the three Russian agents spoke at length and shared sensitive intelligence material, at times laughing uproariously.

After approximately an hour, the meeting broke up, with two of the spies leaving the Oval Office and the third remaining behind.

News that agents of the Russian Federation had somehow eluded the Secret Service in order to hold a meeting in the Oval Office sent shock waves through Washington on Monday evening.

Andy, there is no satire there. RESIST!!

From NY Times: President Trump boasted about highly classified intelligence in a meeting with the Russian foreign minister and ambassador last week, providing details that could expose the source of the information and the manner in which it was collected, a current and a former American government official said Monday.

The intelligence disclosed by Mr. Trump in a meeting with Sergey V. Lavrov, the Russian foreign minister, and Sergey I. Kislyak, the Russian ambassador to the United States, was about an Islamic State plot, according to the officials. A Middle Eastern ally that closely guards its own secrets provided the information, which was considered so sensitive that American officials did not share it widely within the United States government or pass it on to other allies.

Is this why Russian press was allowed in, but US press was not?  Were it not his right to declassify, this would be high treason. After this, no sane leader will share intelligence with the US again . RESIST!!

  1. 4:52  I guess I got the point.

Keith #75 – We probably are aware of everything Keith presents, but it's handy to have it all in the same place.  He didn't, however, mention that, during the meeting with Russians in the Oval Office (you know, the one where the Russian press was allowed and the American press was not), the Citrus Cynic actually revealed classified information.  Even if it is possible for the President to use his judgment to declassify informaton at whim, frankly, this pisses me off.  And, as we know more, it appears it was not even ours (the US to declassify, but information from Israel, and will likely result in the death of at least one source (and his or her family.)  Oh, but what's a little blood spilled among fiends [sic]?

TNY – Real news, but he says it so well.

NYT – Exactly the way he thinks.

    • From Daily Kos user Tzimisce:

Can this get much worse? The rundown:

      1) Release of intel was not to combat a current threat, help in a military operation, but to brag about how good his intel is.

      2) The intel was code word top secret.

      3) The intel belonged to an ally. (not his to release)

      4) Released information to Russia.

      a) to people who are known intel operatives for Russia.

      b) same operatives that caused half his staff to get in trouble regarding the Russian scandal.

      5) Sends out entire national security team to swat this down. They basically deny things no one is saying, so fail.

      6) Trump says he did it, and he can, so what? Undermining #5.

      7) Now we discover the ally is Israel, who Trump is visiting in his first overseas trip.

So in word salad form: top secret intel, russia, israel, betrays ally, no strategic advantage. If you mixed that together and added “Hillary Clinton” what would be the GOP reaction? It really isn’t hyperbole to say that articles of impeachment would be drafted.

    • Terrifying, isn't it?

That is a great resist gif, Joanne….

  2. KO: Spot on! Love these videos.

NYer: Yea, no humor, just the facts.

NYT: This makes me ill. Imho, "Lock HIM up!! "

    Cartoon: U.G.H.!!

Hope that you get all your chores done, enjoy your evening, take care, and Thanks, Tom.

  3. KO: UNBELIEVABLE, but this is what you can get when you do not consider the character of the person for whom you vote!  Rumpy, with Alzheimer's or not, with Malignant Narcissistic P.D, I'll bet, (and who says that because a person/façade has the latter, he can't aslo have the former?) is his very own worst enemy!  And, maybe ours!!

Borowitz: Damn, here he goes doing straight news, again!

NYT: Can you imagine what kind of imbecity he might act out on his upcoming trip to the SAUDIS, Israel, Italy and Belgium?  I can almost see them calling N. Korea and asking about joining forces!

Cartoon: "…but this is what you get when you don't consider the charatcer of the person for whom you vote!"

  4. Never a dull moment with this president, TomCat. This morning on the news here they discussed how Americans were starting to worry about the mental state of their leader. Some apparently were worried he was cracking up under the strain. Made me wonder what it takes for Drumpf to do before they realized he's cracked years ago and that his insanity is running rampant: strangle one of his advisors?

Keith Olbermann: Kudos to Keith. By now we already know that Drumpf has indeed asked Comey to let go of investigating Flynn; it was not at dinner but two weeks later, in February in a meeting at the Oval Office, so Drumpf's seventh offense has not been  committed last week, but is is nevertheless no  longer "a stretch" but reality. It is real enough for Chaffetz to demand all FBI documents to be delivered to the House Oversight Committee. If this is another step in derailing the FBI investigation or a newly found "courage" to really start investigating Drumpf & Co. will be debated here extensively, I'm sure.
Keith ends his argumentation perfectly: "Who needs Russian smoke, when the White House is on fire".

TNY: Andy, the only thing slightly humorous here is " two of the spies leaving the Oval Office and the third remaining behind."

NYT: Turns out the " Middle Eastern ally" is Israel which now has to fear that Russia will share the details of this intelligence with its largest enemy in the region: Iran. Could anyone do more damage in a week than this man who some call president?

  5. Puzzle — 4:17  I think I got the point of this exercise, bless my pointed head!

YouTube — What a list, and that was from one week!  Keith laid out the potential charges so well.  I read an article that according to Public Policy Polling, 48% of Americans support impeachment, up 2% from February.  The US cannot survive 4 years of this bullshit! . . . not without irreparable damage.  Impeach NOW!!!  I know Republicans won't because they don't care about the country, only their on wallets!

The New Yorker — “None of these three men should be anywhere near the White House.” — Actually, none of the 4 men should be near the White House — 3 Russians and Drumpf!

NY Times — I repeat what I said above "Impeach NOW!!!"

“The White House has got to do something soon to bring itself under control and in order,” Senator Bob Corker, Republican of Tennessee and the chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, told reporters at the Capitol, adding, “It’s got to happen.”

Drumpf is a loose cannon that MUST be reined in and it seems some Republicans already know that.  The problem — Drumpf is incapable of changing.  A piece toilet paper has a better chance of staying out of the sewer.

    Cartoon — Asshole!!!

    Resist and Persist!!!

  6. Seems appropriate to post this before the next avalanche of Drumpfomania:

  7. The (hopeful) Silver Lining:

It'll get Twitler removed from office – either impeach, resign or 25th Amendment.

But I do have one concern w/ Pence taking over (assuming he's not bee too complicit in all the Trump shenanigans – a distinct possibility): Since he's not batshit crazy he may actually stand a better chance of moving the republican right-wing agenda through Congress.

  8. Thanks all!  Hugs!
