It’s that time of week again, and I’m happy to share three excellent video clips from Bill’s show last night.  Enjoy!!

The Apprentice: Nuclear Edition

Bill said what I said. He just did it hilariously.

Rep. Adam Schiff: Authoritarianism vs. Democracy

The only way to counter Trump is to put Democrats in charge of Congress. You’re either with the Democrats or with Trump and the Russians.

New Rule: Social Media is the New Nicotine

I must be healthy. I terminated Facebook years ago, and, while I still belong to Twitter, Google+ and Tumbler, I never go to any of them.

RESIST!!

  1. Bill I – Ah, yes.  This is the one summarized by the cartoon.  Yours is funny too.  his is just longer.  (Though Americaragua is a bit of an insult to banana republics anywhere.)

Bill II – Well, I am far from the only one now saying Adam Schiff is starting to look pretty Presidential.  And he picked out the actual most worrying headline – "Leader of the Free World Meets Donald Trump."  (The scariest of all, of course, wasn't a headline – it was a throwaway – when he referred to "my military.")  As for impeachment charges, even though we may not have the power to institute an impeachment, dang, it wouldn't hurt to have the charges already written, would it?

(Digression – Bill O'Reilly is now blaming George Soros for his being fired.  Who knew BillO sexually assaulted Soros?)

Bill III – I have never been on any of them.  I have a gmail account, so I could easily get into Google+, maybe even accidentally.  But I work at NOT doing that.  Not that I am completely social media free.  There's always Care2 and Daily Kos and Politics Plus.  But at least those have positive purposes!  Oh, and I don't even own a smartphone.

  2. Bill: TGIF, after a week of WTF. Priceless!! Great videos!!

Social media is the new nicotine. I turn all tech off in the evening. It gets to be too much. I noticed when one goes to a restaurant, or to an activity, most folks lean over to check their phones, or FB account. I'm not techie enough to do that, as I just talk on it, or text an answer to a question. At my age, I can't keep up. And that's a good thing. imho.

  3. "TGIF after a week of WTF" — LOL!!!  Is it ever TGIF?  Drumpf and his sycophant cabal go at it 7 days a week non stop!

"Welcome to The Apprentice – Nuclear Edition" — LOL!!!

To replace Comey, "they are looking for someone fair minded, independent, and Trump's son-in-law" — Talk about mission impossible!  Fair minded and independent are oxymorons when it comes to Trump's son-in-law.

"What are Republicans saying to themselves behind closed doors?  They must be shitting their pants." — Before Bill answered his own question, I answered with exactly the same thing.  I think I am smarter than the average Republican!

It was good to hear Schiff.  He makes so much sense!

I have to admit that I have FB but I have no idea how to use it for the most part.  Other than that, I use a google search engine and I have a gmail account for signing online petitions.  I am so committed to my smart phone that I frequently forget to charge it.  I'd rather stick with PP and Care2 where I can learn things.

Such a treat to have 3 Bill Maher vids!

    Resist and Persist!!!

    • Search engines are not social media, nor is PP, which is primarily an information site.  Care2 has some social media functions, but I use the political news area.

      • I know that and I'm sure Squatch does.  What we meant (or what I meant and I think she meant) is that we do come here to check on our friends sometimes.

  4. Had hoped the screenshot of those pretzels were ones used to, a la Bush, choke Trump to …

(My Hippocratic Oath – and moral code – prevents me from proceeding any further … barely!)

  5. Bill was hilarious and right on top of it and so was his guest Adam Schiff, but for me the best segment was the one in which a man yelled at a Republican at a town hall meeting: "When are you're going to be an American, not a politician!"
Schiff then answered Bill's question when Republicans would finally do something about Drumf with something I've been repeating here over and over again: "They all want something from this president before the wheels come completely off the wagon…Then they'll get a spine."

Don't have a smartphone, not on social media, in a more hate than love relationship with Care2… but then I've never smoked either. My only "addiction" is to Politics Plus.

    • "My only "addiction" is to Politics Plus."

Fortunately there is no "12-Step Program" for that.

And I'm glad I never even joined Facebook.  When I eat out for lunch (which is quite often), the vast majority of Millennials (Gen Y) and Centennials (Gen Z) that eat together simply fiddle w/ their phones THE ENTIRE MEAL.  They do NOT engage w/ each other at all!

  6. Thanks all!  Hugsd!!  I'm addcted to lovely ladies. wink

  7. Bill is Priceless!    Americaragua is spot on!  "When are you going to be an American….!" is the line I, also, thought was just so perfect!  the reason, Bill, the GOPigs can not govern is that they do not wish to, they only ant their agenda!, as Schiff so clearly pointed out.  We need to keep up the momentum going forward:RESIST!!!!!!!!!!   I am on C2, in terms of social media, and nothing else, got off that job/career site, whose name I can not now recall, some years ago, have a very old non-I phone, and use it for calls and texts, period! When I hit it the wrong way, and it says "Please say a command." all I can think of is "Shut the F up!"   I am sad that no Big Tobacco people ever got pilloried for their decades of propagndist mis-information, that cost so many lives and suffering!  And, now, in the fossil fuel industry, which has been doing the same thing about gobal warming, a CEO can always hope for a promotion to the presidential cabinet, rather than jail!

Bill II: Have you not seen me write, here, that my biggest issue with Obama was buckling under to McConnell about the Russians, in July?   I could be wrong, perhaps it was not McConnell, or he was just a piece of it, but, hd the ususally wonderfully golden tongued president open his mouth about that, we would not have this!

  8. Bill Maher was FANTASTIC! Loved EVERY second of it!

    Thanks, TC!!!
