From NY Times: President Trump on Thursday named Kris W. Kobach, the Kansas secretary of state who has pressed for aggressive measures to crack down on undocumented immigrants, to a commission investigating vote fraud, following through on his unsubstantiated claim that millions of “illegals” voted for his Democratic rival and robbed him of victory in the national popular vote.
Mr. Kobach, who has championed the strictest voter identification laws in the country, will be the vice chairman of the commission, which will be led by Vice President Mike Pence and is expected to include about a dozen others, including state officials from both political parties, said Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the deputy White House press secretary.
Mr. Trump signed an executive order on Thursday creating the commission, which Ms. Sanders said would have a broad mandate to review policies and practices that affect Americans’ confidence in the integrity of federal elections. Marc E. Lotter, Mr. Pence’s spokesman, said that voter suppression would be among the topics studied by the commission, which he said would take a wide-ranging look at problems at the state and national levels. But the order makes no mention of suppression or voting restrictions, specifying only “improper” or “fraudulent” registration and voting as issues to be explored.

Keith #74 – It's sad that we need to appeal to intelligence communities throughout the free world because we (not present company, of course) have turned our government over to an autocrat, who has executed a coup. But that is certainly where we are, isn't it? I hope there are a few people left who remember Hitler, Mussolini, Franco, and Hirohito, so that they will realize Keith is not kidding when he says "the freedom you save will be your own;" and hopefully they will be able to convince others too young to remember.

At 16:54 this afternoon, all hell broke out here! There was a brief flash and then the deafening sound of thunder which seemed to be right above my home. Then came another, and another, and two more still. At some point during that 10 minute period, the rain started . . . and then an unrelenting hail storm. There was about 2 cm of hail on the road which remained fot several hours. It is still thick on the roof and the grass. I have never seen its likeness. So climate change is a hoax?

The first was pretty nasty. It caused a chile-like cloud.
"When it rains it pours", are these the first signs of a deluge? Hope not, for all our sakes. Don't take too much on, TomCat, rest when you feel you need too; the waters aren't rising yet.
Keith Olbermann: "We, the citizens of America, are the victims of a coup." Yes, sadly, you are. And Keith's plea is as much an imploration for help from all sides to give America the information needed to stop this coup in its tracks as a warning to all within reach of Drumpf and his henchmen that they're about to make sure that all evidence against them will be destroyed.
Your caveat is true to a certain point. Some months ago, when it became clear that Britisch and Dutch intelligence services had direct knowledge of members of the Drumpf campaign team meeting with Russians in Britain and The Netherlands, the Dutch Secretary of the Interior already admitted to journalists that the Dutch needed to tread lightly on this matter as the American president could easily harm the Dutch. At the time he meant that Drumpf could harm our not-inconsiderable trade with the US. Perhaps European countries now also fear the trigger-happy finger of this lunatic dictator on the nuclear button, but for now they will keep that to themselves.
YouTube: Kudos to Jeff Merkley; well said. Of course obstruction of justice in itself is an offense for which Drumpf should be impeached, with the investigation continuing of course in order to have him arrested and thrown in jail for treason as soon as he's impeached.
NYT: Oh no, first we have a cover up of all things related to the Russian scandal, now we can expect the FABRICATION of "voter-fraud facts" that "support" Drumpf claim that 3 million illegal immigrants voted for Hillary from Kobach. And who's going to pay for this insane charade? You bet: the taxpayer.
Also note: " Kobach […] will be the vice chairman of the commission, which will be led by Vice President Mike Pence…". Watch that wolf in sheep clothing Pence, enabling Drumpf right into his presidential grave, getting everything ready just the way he likes it for when he stabs Drumpf in the back and takes over from him.
