The heat wave is over, and it’s 60°, but the humidity is 97%, so it’s still sticky.  I slept poorly last night, due to humidity and AC noise, but I did catch a two hour nap this morning.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:36 (average 4:37).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

From YouTube (GQ Channel): The Shame and Cruelty of the GOP | The Resistance with Keith Olbermann

Amen Keith! Be vengeful!  Ruin their careers!  RESIST!!

Also from YouTube (GQ Channel): Is a Grand Jury Now Looking into Trump? | The Resistance with Keith Olbermann

May the drip… drip… drip… give way to SPLAT! RESIST!!

From The New Yorker: Moments after House Republicans voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act on Thursday, millions of Trump supporters celebrated the imminent loss of their health insurance.

From coast to coast, Americans who cast their votes for Donald J. Trump expressed jubilation at finally being relieved of the burden of being insured in the event of catastrophic illness.

“Ever since President Trump was inaugurated, I’ve been counting the days for him to take away my health insurance,” Carol Foyler, a Trump supporter in Houston, said. “Today I just want to say thank you, Mr. President, for keeping your promise.”

Andy, reporting the intellectual level of deplorables is not even news.  After all, they voted for him.  RESIST!!

  1. 4:12  A much better looking narcissist than – well, you know.

Oh, wow.  Now HERE's a business model that is a real public service

Keith #69 – History, history.  I don't play the markets, but if I did, I think now would be a great time to invest in antiemetics.  (I think you, TC, have the barf bag market already cornered.)  "These men don't suffer – hell, half of them don't even speak English."  Oh. My. F***ing. God.

Keith #70 – Oh, the Eastern District of Virginia.  And the Main Justice National Security Division.  Well, those are actual things.  And now we know he is talking about Federal grand juries, which we didn't know before.  As Keith says, what kind of warrants (besides sealed)?  "Sessions was not honest."  Well, that's throwing roses at it.  I still think it's a bit early for hope.

TNY – Too bad for those supporters they were not in the Capitol Building.  I hear the GOP put out a cart of the finest potables.  Since alcohol kills pain, they'll need some down the road.

Cartoon – Oh, yeah.  Isn't THAT the Pravda.

    • I like the business model, but forhet the ashes.  Mail me as unrefrigerated raw meat and let them clean up the mess.

  2. KO69: Well said, Keith, well said!! Liberal tears, indeed!

KO70: Please, say it's gonna blow! I hope it happens, and quickly! (like next week)!!!

NYer:  Gawd, how can they party, after doing something so callous to the people? Sick!

    Cartoon: Of course!

It was quite chilly this morning here, but it warmed up nicely. Hope that you have a good evening, get some rest, and take good care. Thanks, Tom.

  3. KO69: "For that which is morally wrong can never be politically right." Madame Chiang Kai Shek.  "Morally?"  These pseudo-Christians do not know the meaning therof, or CHOOSE to ignore it, all the while telling everyone else that they have some god-given right to tell them how to live!  Lucretius: "Too often in time past, religion has brought forth criminal and shameful actions. …How many evils has religion caused!"

"“The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.”'- Ralph Waldo Emerson  "…honorable…compassionate?"  OMG, could their Jesus  have understood, even used these concepts, if not actual words?  Could be!  Do these craven, greedy, pigs give a damn? Not at all!   But, Rumpy's VP, Pence,  is a "Born again Christian," for whom his religion is "…more important than my country!"  PLEASE LET THERE BE A HELL!!!!!

    KO70: Be still my heart!!!!!!!!!!!

New Yorker: “Knowlege is a priceless gift, but the illusion of knowledge can be more dangerous than ignorance.” (Pico Iyer) Frigging idiots bought into his blatant bullshit!  They thought they knew something we "dumb" liberals did not!

'Toon: Pravda! Why didn't Murdoch think of that?

  4. I went to save my response and it disappeared so this is an abbreviated version as I have a raging headache from some dental work done this afternoon.

Puzzle — 3:30  Unless you are iron deficient Puddy Tat, this birdie will not make a very good fricassée.  Just as well I saved you from yourself.

YouTube — This rather reminds me of Ebenezer Scrooge from Dickens' "A Christmas Carol", without the redemption.

"… with Scrooge at his money-lending business. He despises Christmas as a "humbug" and subjects his clerk, Bob Cratchit, to grueling hours and low pay (giving him Christmas Day off with pay, begrudgingly and considering it like being pickpocketed, solely due to social custom). He shows his cold-heartedness toward others by refusing to make a monetary donation for the good of the poor, claiming they are better off dead, thereby "decreasing the surplus population." "

Republicans are Ebenezer Scrooge out to make life extremely difficult for all the Bob Cratchits of this world, and they do it with black souls that only have concern for themselves.  AMEN Keith!

YouTube — Where there is smoke there is usually fire.  I hope Drumpfenfarten does not try to fire Boente like he did Sally Yates and Preet Bharara for doing their jobs.  I would think of that as obstruction and Drumpfenfarten must be held accountable.

The New Yorker — This isn't satire, it's reality.  The deplorables have no one to blame but themselves if they find themselves w/o health insurance and a major illness.  The trouble is, they are taking the rest of the country down with them.

Cartoon — Pravda, fair and balanced just like Faux Noise.

    Resist and Persist!!!

  5. I hope you can catch a few more naps when the humidity goes down, TomCat. Portland must look a bit like a Turkish hamam now, covered in a fog and with condensation dripping everywhere, I imagine.

Keith Olbermann #69: Keith is so right about this. Representatives of the rich and powerful like George Frederick Baer and his ilk were of the same cloth as the rich and powerful running the country today. A cloth made of sheer greed, no morality or humanity at all to be found in the loom. So be calmly, quietly, persistently, permanently vengeful. Don't just hope they'll get what they deserve after they die and burn in hell, make sure they get a taste of it before that. Ruin their careers and make them go bankrupt; let them feel the misery that millions do because of their sadistic and greedy decisions.

Keith Olbermann #70: Can't wait for all of this to be confirmed and to see Drumpf's and Pence's name on that list.

    TNY:

  6. Thanks all!  Hugs!
