Today is the best I’ve felt in weeks, and I napped this morning, so I’m publishing and sharing links, expending the minimum effort to do so.  I doubt that I can tomorrow.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today;’s took me 3:06 (average 4:33).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From The Oregonian: Portland and Multnomah County’s top elected leaders committed Monday to transitioning to 100 percent renewable energy sources by 2050.

Mayor Ted Wheeler and County Chair Deborah Kafoury made the announcement at the June Key Delta Community Center in North Portland, a one-time gas station that’s been converted into a green building.

Wheeler, just a few months into his mayoral term, says he has no illusions the energy goal will come easily. "They will be difficult to achieve," he said of the push to meet all electricity needs from renewable sources by 2035, and to transition away from all remaining dirty energy sources, primarily fossil fuels in the transportation sector, by 2050.

"We’re actually going to have to make deliberate steps, and deliberate investments, and deliberate policy changes in order for this to become a reality," he said, "and I’m committed to that."

Good news is just so very rare. Oregon leads the way. RESIST!!

From YouTube (MoveOn Channel): ELIZABETH WARREN: The Cover-Up In Trump’s Taxes

I fully endorse the marches and marchers tomorrow. Find a march near you. RESIST!!

From The Rachel Maddow Show: British intel agency reported Trump campaign Russia ties: Report

Rachel Maddow reports on the latest developments in the investigation into connections between the Donald Trump campaign and Russia, including a report by The Guardian that British intelligence agency GCHQ first raised concerns as far back as late 2015.

Did I see this coming? You all know. Where there’s smoke… and the room keeps filling with more and more smoke. RESIST!!

  1. Wow!  See the posting I just put up at C2, about possible arrests coming as early as next week:  http://www.care2.com/news/member/565542931/4047440

  2. Sounds like the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter – you've turned the corner!

  3. The Oregonian: WOW!!! Great news! I'm jealous, this is really positive news headed in the right direction.

MO: Kudos to Ms. Warren for speaking out about the truth, on dt's taxes. I can't attend, but will be passing the info on locally to those who can: Austin Tax March" April 15, 2017 • 12:00 PM Texas State Capitol, 1100 Congress Avenue, Austin, TX 78701

RM: Love how she explains (in detail) what happened, with these intelligence reports. Sure hope they start the investigations quickly! The video after this one…..about Maribel Trujillo is just absolutely heartbreaking, the AG is an evil, heartless man, alongside dt, imho. Just unbelievably horrible and sad.

Cartoon: Like the Titianic, this nation is sinking. Low. ;-(

Glad to read that you are up and about, and feeling better. I'm off to church services, the Stations of the Cross here in a bit, I feel the need to pray for our future in regards to our great Nation. Hope that you have a great evening, take good care, and Thanks, Tom.

  4. Read your note in the Personal Mail just now, Tom, and just want you to know that I'm with you, in thoughts, and prayers.

Take all the time that you need, I'm not going anywhere (for the forseeable future). Just ease in slowly, and get well at your own pace.

Hugs and good vibes to you. Thanks, Tom.

  5. glad you are feeling better, be well

  6. 3:44  Rather a dreadful pun on "Clear as a bell" – but what a gorgeous Celtic knotted rope!

Oregonian – Oregon doesn't make me homesick, but it certainly does make me jealous!  Congrats!

What Pat said.  We are all with you, at your own pace.  Love and hugs.

YT Liz – I love how smart she is – and how good she is at explaining it so any fool can understand.  I won't be marching except in spirit – but I will be there in spirit.

Rachel – I'm assuming all the "anonymous sources" are anonymous because they want to go on breathing.  Stay tuned!

Cartoon – Made a very popular movie.  And the games.  OMG, the games!  My favorite is probably Hidden Mysteries: The Fateful Voyage, but the half dozen or so I have are all good.

  7. Puzzle — 3:49  Well this bell might be able to summons you to dinner, but you can't eat it!

The Oregonian — This is what it takes . . .

"We’re actually going to have to make deliberate steps, and deliberate investments, and deliberate policy changes in order for this to become a reality," he said, "and I’m committed to that."

It would be great if EVERYONE did this.  It is the only way to save the planet for all of us.  Well that and stopping Drumpfenfarten from his saber rattling and warring ways.

YouTube — Spot on Elizabeth Warren!  She says: "Washington stop working for the lobbyists and billionaires and start working for the American people."

In an article in Alternet, one Congressman from Oklahoma tells his constituents his version.

"In an April 10 town hall, Mullin engaged in another difficult meeting. His constituents repeatedly told him that he worked for them as a public servant but Mullin believes it is a service he provides to the constituents.

“One, you say you pay for me to do this, that’s bull crap, I pay for myself to do this,” Mullin claimed. “This is a service.”"

I venture to say that this is a common belief amongst all Republicans.  They are a bunch of whiny pissants.

TRMS — So well done!  It would surprise me if Drumpfenfarten and his minions were not at least charged with treason by the end of 2017 or very early 2018.  As you said, where there is smoke there is usually fire!

Cartoon — Ah, the USS Drumpf!  The HRMS Ttitanic seems to be a fitting analogy for the Drumpf administration.

    Resist!!!

I am super glad that you are feeling well enough to post today!  Easy does it only doing what you can comfortably do.

  8. Great news in Oregon – TC feels better and Oregon is going renewable.

As for the orange moron, lots of folks getting impatient – including me.  Hurry up, already and do something about this madman.

  9. BOMB (Mother of all Bombs) April 14 2017

Mother of all bombs costs how much?
$320 million dollars have been spent for 20 already made Mother-of-all-Bombs (the Moab or GBU-43/B) also known as technically called the Massive Ordnance Air Blast. It has a unit cost of $16 million.

The United States Defense Department likes to show off. After proving it can move with the quick strike capability of a cobra as it did when it launched 59 tomahawk missiles at a Syrian airfield, the Pentagon on Thursday decided to up the ante by showing its muscle. They dropped the largest non-nuclear bomb against ISIS in the Nangarhar Province in Afghanistan.

The GBU-43B known as the Massive Ordnance Air Blast (MOAB) or the Mother of All Bombs, is a 20,000-pound monster. It took $314 million to develop and has a unit cost of $16 million.

U.S. Drops Its Biggest Non-Nuclear Bomb on Afghans, Already Traumatized by Decades of War

    Published on Apr 14, 2017
    – In Afghanistan on Thursday, the United States military dropped its most powerful non-nuclear bomb ever—the Massive Ordnance Air Blast, or MOAB, nicknamed "The Mother of All Bombs." The 21,600-pound bomb reportedly unleashed an explosion equivalent to 11 tons of TNT with a mile-wide blast radius.

One report says that the villagers were warned of an impending bomb drop in their area. It also said that the soldiers were leaving before the bomb drop.

Another report says that no soldiers were killed in the MOAB drop.

Still in another report says that 94 soldiers were killed leaves me to question the accuracy of the report considering that the MOAB tends to vaporize humans in the path of the blast.

Russia has developed a bomb that has the capability to be 4x the power of US MOAB but the plans were shelved.

The MOAB has been sitting around in storage for at least a decade since it was first built at the early days of the Iraq war. This is the first time it has been used in combat. For more reading, photos, videos and descriptions (graphs) on this MOAB:

  10. It must be the time of year, the time of resurrection of nature and spirit, that makes you feel much better now, TomCat. And steady does it, as you're already so wisely implementing in your approach. Assess how you feel each day, and if you're not up to it, or if you need to save your strength for all the upcoming medical upheaval you're facing, then go with the flow right back to bed.

TO: Some good news indeed: a commitment to a realistic, yet visionary policy with the right perspective. Kudos.

Liz Warren: Spot on, so join her and

    MARCH TO RESIST!

Rachel Maddow: Many saw this coming, but also saw a GOP and a Congress who did everything they possibly could to keep this contained. As far as foreign spy branches and governments were concerned, they didn't feel it to be very opportune to hand out, and even less push, all the information they had. Our Dutch Minister of Internal Affairs meekly replied, when asked about the Dutch intelligence services having picked up on meetings between members of the Drumpf campaign team and Russians associated with the Putin government in The Netherlands, he wasn't going to comment on the information that was handed over to the American intelligence bureaus any further because Drumpf was a very powerful world leader and he could hurt The Netherlands, i.e. its trade relationship with the US, really badly if he wanted to. By then the Dutch government had already witnessed Drumpf's bullying of other nations in his first two weeks of "presidency".

Cartoon: The GOP Titanic has been making water for ages now, when is it finally going to sing, taking Drumpf with them?

  11. Thanks all.  Not feeling as well as yesterday, but hanging in.  Hugs!!

  12. I love Elizabeth Warren! She don't pull NO punches, NO matter who they are aimed at!

    • If Paul Mannafort is retroctively registering as a "foreign agent", how far BACK does that registration go? Back to when he was working on tRump's campaign? How far back in the donald's campaign?

Sounds like there is going to be some REAL STUFF coming out SOON! Can't wait for this stuff to be over with and we can see what the ashes of our democracy is left!!!
