When I awakened this morning, I felt tired and congested and I have been coughing, so instead of pushing myself, I’m going back to bed.  I hope to return tomorrow,  Hugs!   RESIST!!

  1. "He took us to the MountainTop". May Dr/Reverend King Rest in Peace.

Oh, NO…..get some rest, and some more. Stay hydrated, and did I say rest? Rest and take a nap. Hope that you get better….take good, good care, and Hugs! to you, Tom.

  2. Good choice to return to bed if you're not feeling well and if you feel more comfortable there, TomCat. Grab all the rest you can, dear friend.

  3. Hope you get to feeling better soon!  (I actually took an exta nap today, too)

  4. 5:46 (5:46)  I couldn't do that again if I tried!

If you have been following Free Press's "100 Disruptions" to resist Dolt45, you will know that the disruption for today is TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF!  Apparently it couldn't come at a better time!  If you feel better in bed, is that an improvement over when the muscle pain was so bad you felt better sitting up?  I hope so – I'll be grateful for any improvement.

Cartoon – Yes indeed.  But we are still not in the Promised Land.  We still need to keep on and

    • Speaking of rocking (which Mitch did), your Jeff Merkley really rocked tonight (in fact, may still be rocking).  I know it's early, but I can dream, darn it!

  5. Puzzle — 3:34  It isn't difficult to get all tied up.  But too often it is difficult disentangling the ties.

Cartoon — A hero of mine!

    From CNN:

"The Riverside speech's unpopularity — fueled by its candid assessment of the shortcomings of American democracy — is precisely what makes it King's most powerful and important speech.

King loved America enough to always be honest.

A political leader who dined with royalty and met with presidents at the White House found himself increasingly drawn to the plight of poor people around the world.  His belief that black sharecroppers in the Deep South deserved the same consideration as intellectual and economic elites led to his championing a Poor Peoples Campaign that planned to descend on the nation's capital in May 1968 until Congress passed legislation that addressed growing inequality in America.  After King's assassination that April, his widow and others tried to continue this work."

When I think of Martin Luther King Jr, I often hear the old spiritual "We shall Overcome".  Click on the link for a rendition "From Pete Seeger's 90th Birthday Concert (Clearwater Concert), Madison Square Garden, 5/3/09. Featuring: Pete Seeger, Emmylou Harris, Joan Baez, Toshi Reagon, Bernice Johnson Reagon, Tao Rodriguez-Seeger, Billy Bragg, Keller Williams, Ani DiFranco, Ruby Dee, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, New York City Labor Choir."

How can anyone not be inspired and moved by this rendition!

    Resist and Persist!!!

Whatever you do Puddy Tat, make sure you don't tear, sprain, or strain those intercostal muscles again with the coughing!  Hug your pillow or whatever works for you when coughing.  And again, not lying down flat may help reduce the congestion and coughing.  Elevate your upper body, stay hydrated and rest.  Take care.

  6. He really rocked!

    Get rest and liquids!

  7. Take care, TC! Seems like you been sick a LONG time, dude! WOW! Take care of yourself!

He was a very GREAT man!
