I ran out of meds yesterday.  Today some of the congestion and coughing has returned, so I called Megan’s office to see if they will refill my Prednisone prescription.  My concern is that the coughing will exacerbate the muscular damage.  I still have quite a bit of pain in my ribs, and want to keep it tolerable.  Tomorrow morning I have a home visit coming from the agency that pays for around 20% of the care I get from Wendy.  I am more disabled than I was a year ago, because of my eyes, so I’m not worried about losing it, until Republican budget cuts reach the state level.  Then on Saturday, Carrie will be here filling in for Wendy, instead of Sunday, so my uploads will be abbreviated until Sunday.  I’ve decided not to do a Monthly Report for March.  First we do not have a full month’s data.  Second, after everything, I don’t have enough gas left in my tank to design as new report format for our Analytics.

Today’s took me 3:20 (average 5:04).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (GQ Channel): Could Donald Trump Pass a Sanity Test? | The Resistance with Keith Olbermann

Why?  In a single word, the Lemon Lunatic is a Republican. RESIST!!

From The New Yorker: Representative Devin Nunes, the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, told reporters on Wednesday that he just spent several days alone in his apartment holding hearings on President Donald J. Trump’s ties to Russia and that those hearings “went really great.”

“Having concluded several days of hearings on my own in my apartment, I am one hundred per cent satisfied that the President had no involvement with the Russians,” Nunes said. “Now it’s time to move on.”

While Nunes would not reveal who testified at the hearings in his apartment, he called their testimony “credible and productive.”

Andy, if he said that, it would not surprise me at all. RESIST!!

From The Rachel Maddow Show: Schiff presses for public hearing for Yates

Congressman Adam Schiff, ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, talks with Rachel Maddow about resistance by Chairman Devin Nunes to hear from former acting Attorney General Sally Yates and the priorities of Democrats on the committee.

I agree with him. The investigation should also contain looking at the quid pro quo, first by the Trump campaign and now by the Trump Reich to compensate Russia for their cooperation. I also think Sally Yates testimony may be critical. RESIST!!

  1. 4:48  A watched clock.

Not long ago I believe I mentioned that Teen Vogue is shaping up to be an unlikely but reliable news source.  We,, here's an example, cited by the Bill of Rights Defence Committee (now renamed the Defending Dissent Foundation):  http://www.teenvogue.com/story/nuclear-weapons-donald-trump-what-to-know

The New Yorker strikes again with a long article by three writers, one of whom wrote the article on Trump Tower Baku:  http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2017/03/06/trump-putin-and-the-new-cold-war  It dates to March 6, but it's the first I've seen it.

Quote from the Rev. Dr. William J. Barber II:  "Not long ago I was a guest on Real Time with Bill Maher, with one of America’s most prominent atheists. Wearing my clerical collar, I realized that I stood out among his guests. So I decided to announce to Bill that I, too, am an atheist. He seemed taken aback, so I explained that if we were talking about the God who hates poor people, immigrants, and gay folks, I don’t believe in that God either."

Keith #53 – I would think it would depend on the test.  Many psychopaths and sociopaths could pass many sanity tests – it depends upon how sanity is defined.  In the newest PBS Sherlock series, Holmes describes himself as a "high-functioning sociopath."  That doesn't make Don John the Con competent to be President, and many of the incompetencies Keith describes here have nothing to do with either sanity or ignorance.  On the other hand, I'm sure his supporters have no idea of the distinctions between sanity, psychopathy, ignorance, delusions, compulsions, and what-not.

TNY – Well, apparently he had two sources, just at the White House, just last week.  And that's not counting the little green men or the unicorns.

Rachel – Merkley/Schiff in 2020!  And, in the meantime, stay tuned!

    Cartoon – Well, I certainly don't miss the – ahem, I don't miss him.

  2. tRump Sanity Test???/  no way!

  3. KO: He's (drumpf),  a total incompetent, and nuts too. Keep 'em comin', KO!! (and Tom).

NYer: I'm sure that the meeting went well. lol. What they say and do, doesn't surprise me at all anymore.

RM: Stayed awake and watched this last night. Love her show, it's a breath of fresh air, and I hope that Mr. Schiff can get the ball rolling for this hearing/investigation.

Cartoon: I remember my father talking about this at the dinner table, boy, he got fired up too. Mr. Truman denounces Senator Joe McCarthy as a saboteur of U.S. foreign policy. "I think the greatest asset that the Kremlin has is Senator McCarthy."  In December 1954, he was condemned by the Senate. *all-len-all.com

Sure hope that you can get a refill. Sounds like you have a busy day tomorrow/weekend lined up too. Take good care, rest, and take good care. Thanks, Tom.

  4. Keith: Delusional?  Divorced from reality? Empty inside the façade he presents?  You Betcha!

New Yorker: The crazies are running the sanitarium!!!

Maddow: Yates and the rest, ought to be interviewed, while Nunes takes a sabbatical!  And, just who was that that called him out of the Uber ride, the other day?

Sen. Joe McCarthy may be where the first official "Alternate Factoids" came from!  The man had "…no decency," while decency, today is a "crush" video from the GOP!

  5. WOW!  A day ahead of schedule!  Tracking says it was in your mailbox @ 1:32 PM

    Hope itt was!

  6. When I first read the cartoon, I thought it said "Trump denounced McCarthy".  Quickly I realized my error.  Then I further realized that if it had been Trump, he would not have denounced McCarthy.  He would have praised him.

  7. Rachel Maddow had a very disquieting but an interesting segment last night. Brexit. I got the distinct impression that Russia may have had an influence in its recent election of whether England should or should not be part of the European Union. Russia wants very much to disband NATO & the European Union to destabilize them. …"geographically Germany is essential to American security it is our symbolic front line against Russia and Russia's primary geopolitical goal since 1945 has been to break up the German Alliance politically Germany is essential to American security…". Keith Olbermann, Could Trump Pass a Sanity Test? What about France with its upcoming elections with the possibility of it becoming a Fascist country?  Recent election of Holland. (See Lona's recent link). They did not elect a Drumpf-like character politician to become head of Holland and that, in itself, is good news.

What surprised me was the fact that over 80+% turned out to vote. Just think, if USA had an 80% turnout to vote in this country, the GOP could never win another election! which is why I advocate that all citizen voters must be required, by law, to vote.

  8. Puzzle — 4:07  I'm late!  I'm late for a very important date!

YouTube — Good visual — Drumpf's very own Rorschack test!  There is no doubt in my mind that Drumpfenfarten is at least 10 fries short of a Happy Meal. (An apted expression for someone so devoted to junk food, don't you think?)

The New Yorker — Another one in need of a Rorschack test to test his sanity!  I'll bet he was just hearing voices in his head.

TRMS — This is a can of worms that needs to be totally opened up.  Enough of the Republican games!  If Drumpf is so concerned about national security, he should stop harassing the Muslim community and rather step down, he and the entire administration.  The administration is so tainted by scandal, it is like rotting meat sitting in the sun.  Of course that won't happen but it should.  And yes, it is imperative that Sally Yates testify.  As far as Nunes is concerned, he needs to go!

Cartoon — Joe McCarthy, another sick Republican bastard!  I remember reading sometime ago that McCarthy was good friends with the Kennedys.

    Resist and Persist!!!

A good friend of mine, Nick, passed away last night from pancreatic cancer at the age of 64 I learned today.  I have been out all day and just read the email this evening.  He is survived by his wife Ruth, sons Alan and Chris and their partners, and MIL Dorothy.  Would you keep them all in your thoughts or prayers.  I've been in tears this evening and unable to concentrate on doing the OT.  I saw Nick at my mother's memorial service at which time he gave me a really big hug.  2017 is turning out to be a really sucky year!  Thanks

    • So sorry to hear about your friend Nick, who passed away so young, Lynn. I hope 2017 will stop being sucky right now and turn into something wonderful for you from now on, dear friend. My thoughts are with you.

    • I'm so sorry fpr your and their loss.  Shjaring thoughts and prayers is a privilege,

  9. I'm sure you're well aware of the Prednisone side effects when you take it longer than 5 days, so we must take you asking Megan for a refill prescription as a sign you're on the way to healing, but no where near yet, TomCat. I'm sorry to hear that; I had hoped both your congestion, coughing and your muscle pain would have gotten better than that. And as you surely must have hoped too! Stay strong, my friend.

Keith Olbermann: You get no argument from this (retired) psychologist on Drumpf's insanity, Keith It doesn't really mater what kind of insanity he's diagnosed as – Drumpf'll score high on a number of different scales – what does matter is that both Drumpf's behavior, grasp on reality and thought pattern make him completely unfit for any position of power, most of all for that of the President of America.

TNY: Nunes seems to have as much grasp on reality as the boss who has his hand up this puppet's rear end and they both seem to think they can get away with it.

Rachel Maddow: The video keeps crashing on me for some reason, but one thing is clear to me anyway: the way Nunes/the Committees/the Republicans do everything in their power to keep Yates from testifying is a sure sign that her testimony is critical, like you said, TomCat.

  10. Thanks all!  Hugs!!
