Wendy and her sister will be arriving in a few minutes.  I will finish and post this after they leave.  I guess the difference in how I feel is that severe intolerable pain has backed off to become severe barely tolerable pain.  I managed four hours sleep last night.

Wendy and Carrie have come and gone.  If feels good to be clean again.  My schedule will be skewed this week, but resting, healing, cleaning and getting my food are the only things on it.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 2:41 (average 4:17).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Take:

No Supreme Court pick for Trump

The Reich on the right, the Republican Reich, is wrong. The Reich on the left, Robert Reich, is right. RESIST!!

  1. 3:47  I don't think you want to be stressing yourself catching fish today.

I had to watch "Don Giovanni" on PBS, but I guess that didn't make me too terribly late.  Don Giovanni – the original Don John the Con, with one thing the current one lacks – cojones.  I'm afraid I would like to see ours end the same way the one in the opera does.  If that makes me a bad person, well, I guess it does.

Reich – This is so obvious I can hardly believe it needs to be said.  Yet it does, to all Republicans, and even to a few Democrats.  Heartbreaking.

Cartoon – And so the genocide began in earnest.

  2. RR: Spot on, Mr. Reich! I sincerely hope that it happens, and QUICKLY!

    Cartoon: Yes, a crying shame!

Sorry to read that you are still in pain. Not good to see you with only 4 hours of sleep either. Hope that it abates soon. Get some rest, (or try too), and take care. Thanks, Tom.

  3. Puzzle — 3:12  We said REST, which means you don't have to do the puzzle at break neck speeds!

Robert Reich — For me, this is just plain common sense.  But alas, what is known as common sense isn't so common.  TC and I were having a discussion about KO's #50 video and he remarked that sadly only 200,700 people had viewed it.  Will this short Robert Reich video suffer the same fate?  I hope not because this is so terribly important.

Cartoon — So wrongheaded!  I was thinking that this was the Trail of Tears, but apparently not.  In 1804, Thomas Jefferson signed the Indian Removal Act that would force the movement of Native Americans in the southeast to territories west of the Mississippi River.  A second Indian Removal Act was signed by Andrew Jackson in 1830 which began a series of removals.  It would appear that the removal of the Cherokee was the one referred to as the Trail of Tears.  In any case, the removal of Native Americans from their ancestral lands was barbaric, and in my opinion, should be called what it is, a genocide, as thousands of Native Americans died while making this forced migration.

This is a painting of the Cherokee Trail of Tears by Robert Lindneux  (sorry don't know how to get it bigger)

    Resist and Persist!!!

    • Hope you're finding less pain as the time with prednisone increases.  I must say that the air here is better now that you're a spiffed Biff!  But that won't last long as I had beans for dinner.  There is something about beans on a rainy, miserable day!  My furbabes have just finished licking my bowl and say "Meow" to their Uncle TC.

    • Witn regard to the number of views of videos – Keith's #50 is up to 220K-something, and all of his Resistance videos are in the 200K-300K range.  Reich's is just under 3,000 this morning (Monday.)  I doubt frankly if many people go to YouTube just to look for these – they pick up steam from being re-posted (Raw Story has been picking up Keith's eventually), Facebooked, and tweeted.  Who here is on Twitter?  And whom are you connected to?

  4. Excellent schedule, TomCat. Keeping my fingers crossed you've slept a little more now that you're al clean and fragrant again.

Reich: Robert Reich starts at the beginning, where the discussion on a new nomination for SCOTUS should have started: the legitamacy of Drumpf's presidency. He makes an excellent case why Drumpf should NOT be allowed to nominate a candidate for the Supreme Court, neither Goresuch, nor anybody else. Of course it is all too clear why Drumpf is in such a hurry: he hopes  a 5-4 Republican Scotus will not impeach him.

Cartoon: And when did they order their removal from the land, period, aka genocide?

  5. Well, at least your health is trending the right way – albeit slowly.

  6. Thanks all.  Hugs!!

  7. Reich is absolutely correct!

    Feel still better, TC.

  8. Hi TomCat,

Hope your healing excellerates until your pain completely disappears.

Robert  Reich is right to the point that anyone who participates in that hearing may be participating in a crime. With a 5-4 SCOTUS fat chance of Trump and/or members of his traitorous team being tried for a crime against America with Russia…peace.
