I’m still in severe pain and am leaving for an X-Ray and to see Megan, my PCP, shortly after noon.  I’ll try to leave a comment here, when I return.  ARGH! Hugs!  RESIST!!

  1. Take good care going and coming back home! Hope they find out what you need to know about your severe pain. Prayers lifted up for you, keep the faith!

    Thanks, Tom, and Good Luck.

  2. Hope whatever it is can be taken care of as soon as possible. Healing thoughts for you.

  3. 4:14  Looks tough for salad.

We will be praying for you (or whatever we each do) and waiting with bated breath.  I hope it's not only found, but something that can be dealt with fast and permanently.

Cartoon – And now the demonstrator-in-chief is in the Cabinet.  That's a never-ceasing wonder I could have done without.

and may you be feeling more up to it soon.  Meanwhile, here are flowers for the invalid.

  4. Thinking of you – hope they can control this pain better.

  5. Hope you come back with good news and perhaps a little less pain already, TomCat.

  6.  This is a little "get better soon" gift . . . some catnip!  Even being near this will take your mind off the pain until the doctor can get you all fixed up!  Good luck with Megan today.  Thoughts and prayers are with you.

Puzzle — 3:34  I'm not sure how good this would be as a salad.

Cartoon — Ah, the Exxon Valdez disaster in Prince William Sound.   28 years and the ocean, particularly the ocean floor has not totally recovered).  And oil companies wonder why Canadians do not want oil tankers running up and down the coast!

  7. I was right.  I have torn intercostal muscles.  Megan showed me how to hug mytself when coughing, presacribed prednisone and too little oxycodone, and told me to expect at least a week or two in pain.

    • Well, I'm sorry that it will hang around that long, but I am glad no ribs were broken.  I have it on good authority that would be even worse.  I am probably dreaming, but is there anything you might do with clothing to keep the compression more constant?  Spandex (only the lycra trade name is Koch Brothers; plain spandex is not)?  A dude's corset?  Just a thought.

      • I'm so sorry about your torn intercostal muscles, TomCat. From experience I know there's little else you can do but grin and bear it, and do everything to ease the coughing and not put pressure on those muscles by resting on them.

So you'll have to try sleeping propped up in a sitting position and drink warm fluids only. The pain will get less, I promise you, but it feels like ages before it does.

  8. all I can say is you need to take care of #1, you most importantly, but thanks as always for the post

  9. Thanks all!  Slightly less painfil hugs!!

  10. Coming to this on the 25th, I hope you will have gotten some relief, by now.
