Rancid Interference

By rule, the White House may not interfere with DOJ investigations, including those conducted by the FBI.  This is especially true if the investigation involves the Resident, given the absence of a President, or any of his staff or associates.  Therefore, it’s most inappropriate that Trump’s Chief of Staff, Rancid Reince Priebus, tried to interfere with the FBI’s investigation of the many documented contacts between Trump’s campaign and Russian Intelligence.

republican-liesLast week the New York Times reported that members of Donald Trump’s campaign staff "had repeated contacts with senior Russian intelligence officials in the year before the election. The White House vigorously denies this, and Chief of Staff Reince Priebus went on TV to knock down the story. That’s fine. But it turns out Priebus did more than that. According to CNN, Priebus asked the FBI to tell reporters that there was nothing to the story:

The discussions between the White House and the bureau began with FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe1 and White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus on the sidelines of a separate White House meeting the day after the stories were published, according to a U.S. law enforcement official.

….[A] White House official said that Priebus later reached out again to McCabe and to FBI Director James Comey asking for the FBI to at least talk to reporters on background to dispute the stories.2 A law enforcement official says McCabe didn’t discuss aspects of the case but wouldn’t say exactly what McCabe told Priebus.

Comey rejected the request for the FBI to comment on the stories, according to sources, because the alleged communications between Trump associates and Russians known to US intelligence are the subject of an ongoing investigation.

I wonder if anyone in the Trump White House even understands how inappropriate this is?… [emphasis added]

Mother has much more.  Click through.  to answer the author’s last question, I have no doubt that Priebus knows how inappropriate it is. Unlike many in the Republican Reich, he is no newcomer to Washington.  Rancid Reince was head of the RNC from 2011 until he graduated to wiping Bannon’s butt, as the Fuhrer’s chief of staff, this year.

Chris Hayes covered the story well.

I agree.  Rancid Reince must be fired.

RESIST!!

  1. My personal opinion is that the request was Bannon's; Reince was just the errand boy.  Both should go – but neither will.  IOKIYAR.

  2. Good God, they should all be fired. From Thumelthinskin on down!!

    A- – Hats!!!

  3. Does anyone, for a micro-minute, think that this so-called president would want the public to know anyhing, period?  We have one sick bastard surrounded by other sick bastards, or people who must act like sick bastads in order to maintain credibility in the sick bastard culture!

  4. Drumpf and his henchmen still don't get it, do they. As mostly newcomers, they can try and hide their complete lack of morals and norms behind inexperience, but they've failed to understand what that does to the many men and women in the independent DOJ and FBI who have quite a bit of moral fiber left and are not afraid to leak, openly inform investigative journalists or speak out against the 'misbehavior' of this government.

Drumpf is still under the illusion that he can use the same kind of bullying he used in his business deals  without repercussions because it isn't illegal, and so are his errant boys. He just doesn't learn, and apparently neither does Bannon, and keeps ripping time honored, and above all democratic and just, rules apart, in the hope he can keep Russia gate under his control. But there will come a time that even the GOP, who's leaders in Congress so desperately want to keep a lid on it too for whatever reason 😕 😕 , will have to give in to the pressure they in turn receive from their constituents and fire Priebus and have Sessions step back from the investigation. It's just a matter of time so keep it up:

    RESISIT & PERSIST!

  5. Fire the whole damn bunch of them!  I don't think Priebus is smart enough to think about the appropriateness of asking the FBI to talk to the press about the investigation.  At least Comey did not acquiesce to Priebus' request.  Maybe he learned something after his little Clinton debacle.  And Bannon, I sometimes think he is the one in charge, not Drumpfenfarten.
