From The New Yorker: Donald Trump fired the acting Attorney General, Sally Q. Yates, after learning that she had downloaded a copy of the United States Constitution to her computer, Trump told reporters on Monday night.
According to the Trump Administration’s code of ethics, established by Steve Bannon, a counsellor to the President, “possessing, reading, or referring to the United States Constitution” is a violation that is punishable by termination.
Suspecting that Yates was in breach of that rule, Bannon seized Yates’s computer at the Justice Department and discovered that she had secretly downloaded a complete copy of the 1789 document.

02/02/17 — I am off to see mum and then teaching later. I just heard from my student and she is making celery stew for me for dinner and it is soooooooooooooooooo good. There are some really good perks to teaching! Mum is still with us but is not taking anything — food nor water other than water on a sponge lollipop. She has not opened her eyes for about 4 days now but I can tell when she is awake as her eyes move under her eye lids. I just keep talking to her anyways and touching her arm so she knows I am there. Take care.

YT/RWW: Despite the stack of barf bags ready for use, I never got to see the whole video. I lost it first when they still tried to implicate Mohamed Khadir in the attack despite all the man had gone through and the unbelievable disparaging way they talked about Islam ('bowing to their cult object somewhere in Mecca') really did my stomach in. I never made it to the red flag accusation, and I didn't need to. Alex Jones is another epitome (next to Drumpf) of the black hole that is created by free speech running rampant right into hate speech.
Rachel Maddow: I hope Jeff Merkley get's enough Democrats to stand firm and pull the filibuster off and get this nomination to SCOTUS from the table…and the next one…and the next one. But some Democrats have already shown that they're DINOs and show the characteristic lack of backbone of Republicans, so I wouldn't get my hopes up to high.
