Wendy is due in about twenty minutes to sanitize and deodorize the mangy old TomCat, help with housework and cooking, and tighten some nuts and bolts on my chair, si I want to write as much of this as I can, before she arrives.  I’ll finish after she leaves.

Fluffed, buffed and stuffed!!

From YouTube (TYT Channel): Federal Court Stops Trump’s Muslim Ban! Gigantic Airport Protests Against Trump!

Amen Cenk! Kudos to all who are doing the right thing! RESIST!!

From USA Today: The leaders of the powerful network aligned with billionaires Charles and David Koch aim to raise and spend between $300 million and $400 million over the next two years to advance their free-market policy and political agenda, officials said Saturday.

The target, announced at the opening of the network’s annual winter gathering for donors, marks a substantial increase from the $250 million the network spent to influence political battles in the 2016 election and help Republicans retain their grip on the Senate.

Although Charles Koch refused to throw his political might behind President Trump’s candidacy, his top political operatives on Saturday signaled support for some of Trump’s actions during the first week of his presidency and a willingness to collaborate with his administration on other top Koch priorities, such as repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act.

How many Koch suckers can they buy for $400 million? RESIST!!

From TPM:

The White House announced today that the decision not to mention Jews or anti-Semitism in its announcement commemorating Holocaust remembrance day was intentional. According to White House spokeswoman Hope Hicks, the statement made no mentions of Jews out of respect for the non-Jews who died in Nazi labor camps and death camps during World War II. Hicks told CNN: "Despite what the media reports, we are an incredibly inclusive group and we took into account all of those who suffered."

I think it far more likely that the failure to mention Jews is that the author of the Fuhrer’s statement, Unterfartenfuhrer Bannon, is a Nazi. RESIST!!

  1. 3:45  Colorful.  Fish for lunch?

YT/TYT – But the CPB is ignoring the court orders and continuing to detain people anyway.  Frankly, that scares me.  A Federal agency is more scared of the dictator than of the courts.  What else is there to say?

Action network tells us that Virginia governor Terry McAuliffe is at the airport protesting in person.  They have a letter you can send to your governor to tell him or her to follow suit.  https://actionnetwork.org/letters/let-them-in

BTW the Orange Overlord has ALREADY filed for a 2020 candidacy.  http://www.dailykos.com/story/2017/01/29/1626846/-Trump-Filed-For-Reelection-In-2020-On-Jan-20-2017-Why-It-Matters

USA Today – How many?  Well, too many.  But any is too many.  Thanks – I hadn't seen this.

TPM – Yeah, that's one of the most pathetic non-excuses I've ever heard.

Cartoon – plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.

  2. YT: Yes, RESIST.

USA: When anyone mentions the Koch Bros. it's not good. And they get richer minute by minute. ugh!!

TPM: In a statement released Friday, Trump did not explicitly mention the 6 million Jews killed in concentration camps and cities throughout Europe. Such disrespect. Does he care? Flat out NO!!!

    Cartoon: Oh, but of course!

Sounds like you are very busy! Hope you get a chance to relax. Take care, and Thanks, Tom.

  3. "Fluffed, buffed and stuffed!!" Now that sounds like a Sunday well spent, TomCat.

YT(TYTC): Kudos to Chenk for first blaming ALL who are responsible for putting Drumpf in the White House and then show how proud he is of all those Americans who will not put up with the Drumpfian madness, take to the streets and

    RESIST!

UT: Why would the Kochs feel the need to raise and spend so much money while Drumpf and horde from hell are already doing all the work for them? They either have to make large "contributions" to Drumpf's business empire to keep him following their agenda or they don't think Drumpf won't last long and want to strengthen their ties with VP Pence and the Republicans he represents. Both are bad for America, so

    RESIST!

UT: If the White House really had wanted to include all those who perished at the hands of the Nazis, they would have given a statement that mention all of them them and their numbers specifically, as other nations usually do. By just mentioning millions of innocents, they thought they could get away with it; the stupidity and the arrogance of Drumpf and Bannon knows no bounds. And then to think that Drumpf's son in law is Jewish and his daughter has adopted the faith.
But some looked beyond the holocaust statement and saw the bigger picture:  '"On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, you forget the Jews, and later today you plan to issue new executive orders persecuting refugees and immigrants. Have you no decency?" Goldstein said.'  Yes, it could be Bannon's anti-Semitism got the better of him, but it could also be the clueless ego-centrism of the new leader, wanting to do it his way as usual. The excuse they came up with afterwards was the usual BS of course.

Cartoon: There are universal constants until the main factor is taken out of the equation: RESIST!

  4. Whenever the Empty Orange one speaks, tweets, etc., it is imbecilic, or a lie, or both!

USAToday: We owe the Koch Bros. quite a debt.  If not for their creating the Tea Party, leading to Rumpy's election, we would not know just how deeply, and "bigly" this society, culture is filled with puss, slime, hate, bigotry, and all similar wonders of the dark side!

YT: We would also not know how strongly caring people can come together!

    TPM: Previously unbelievable!

    Cartoon: Pig-faced POS!

    Resist!!!

TPM — "…Hope Hicks, the statement made no mentions of Jews out of respect for the non-Jews who died in Nazi labor camps and death camps during World War II." — This has not been a particular issue in the past, so why suddenly now?  TC, I think you're correct, "Unterfartenfuhrer Bannon, is a Nazi."

Cartoon — Plus les choses changent, plus elles restent les mêmes. (to add to JD's comment)  I'd love to put a firecracker in McTurtle's shell!

Fluffed, buffed and stuffed, eh???  No longer Pepé Le Pew!  My mother had a sponge bath this evening so like you, she should feel a bit better, but . . . She did not open her eyes at all while I was there and has had nothing to drink other than one half a small glass this morning.  I have been using a sponge lollipop with water to moisten her lips and get a bit of water in her.  She is on O2 24/7 and gets salbutamol several times a day to ease her breathing.  Her breathing is getting shallower but her heart beat is strong.  Unfortunately she has developed a nasty bed sore.  It is literally day by day.  What more does she have to endure?  I asked for prayers for a good death for her today at church.

  7. Very good articles TC, thank you.  I also saw this

    http://www.ecowatch.com/donald-trump-first-week-2223763245.html

entitled "7 ways Trump's First Week in the White House Was A Complete Disaster".

All of them were bad, but the last could have been avoided surely – 30 EPA rules/regulations that have not yet been finalised  have been frozen and probably will never come into force now.  You'd have thought this changeover in government came as a surprise to the last administation.

    • Actually, it did come as a surprise.  In November.  The polls were all the other way.  Yes, there were reasons to think the polls were wrong, but some of those reasons were pretty subtle.  I don't know how long it takes to finalize new regulations, but most things take longer than we would expect.

  8. Thanks all!  Hugs!!
