Keith – "Garage band series" – good one. Of course everything he says is right on. And it is hard for people not to slip into normalozing. Which is, of course, why we must resist.
Rachel – Am I the only person who is deeply concerned at the gaps between the reported figures and 100%? That seems to me to be way too many people who, when asked the difference between ignorance and apathy, respond, "I don't know and I don't care." Fox being Fox, I can understand the Papaya Pervert's supporters being misinformed. But how can anyone have no opinion at a time like this?
NYT – Yes, well, no wonder there are gag orders.
Cartoon – Oh, I don't know, I think the eagle is pretty appropriate for Republicans. As opposed to vultures, which mostly scavenge, attacking only when there is nothing to scavenge, eagles are active killers. Plus they look far more admirable than they actually are. The same cannot be said of vultures. But it can be said of Republicans.
The blanks shoud not surprise you at all. Over 42% of registered voters did not even vote in 2016.
Maybe not the national bird, but the republicans & Electoral College have certainly given us a turkey for a president.

It is concerning me a little that Liz Warren and Sherrod Brown are being pilloried because they voted, in committee, to send the nomination fo Ben Carson to the Senate floor. OK, I wish they hadn't done that, but people are saying they voted "in favor of Ben Carson." That's not what they did, and people who say it is are either ignorant or disingenuous. Now, if either or both vote for Carson on the Senate floor, then I can see raising hell.
In my opinion, you're spot on. Regressives tend to jerk knees, before engaging brains.
Thanks TC – good video by Rachel Maddow – but, as we have noted for donkey's years here, how DO we get through to the brainwashed – it doesn't matter how many attested facts they are shown, they still refuse to believe the truth.

Was up to see mum again today and will be going up tomorrow too! After that, I went over to teach and then do a small grocery shop. I am bushed. I am not sleeping well right now, but I am trying to look after myself — I don't need to be sick! On Saturday, I will travel to Victoria for my Auntie's memorial service. That will be an all day affair because of the timing of ferries . . . ugh!

Keith Olbermann: So spot on! He describes exactly how the media should handle this lying illegitimate president and his lying cronies. We can only hope that some of the media he mentioned will pick up on this sooner than later and start giving us truths and facts. However Keith is not so sure about it himself. Yes, perhaps they will if the realize they can also make money out of being anti-Trump, but for any other reason? Quoth the raven: "Oh, by the way, it also might be one of the last chances we have to stop the US of A from fully descending into fascism. You know, in case that still matters to anybody…Resist. Peace."
Rachel Maddow: She was very proud to have an exclusive on the poll results, but it would be far better if ALL mainstream media would bring these figures, and the conclusions drawn from them, out in the open. It doesn't really matter how many Drumpf supporters still believe his lies, what is important to get across is that most Americans DON'T!
NYT: The speed with which America is turning into a fascist country is truly breath taking. It also makes me realize this can only happen because a large group of people have been preparing this for a number of years and are now rolling out a carefully worked out and detailed plan. Oh, the wording may be off here and there, spelling mistakes made and typos abound, but the plan was ready from the start. The GOP? The Koch brothers? Any suggestions?
