Bill Strikes Again!

I’m sure there is no need to tell you how much I appreciate Bill Maher.  Though I disagree with him on one point, here are three video clips, in which he is spot-on, otherwise.

Monologue: The Great White Grope

GOP = Grab Our Pussies. Love it!!

Bernie Sanders and the Democratic Biopsy

I fully agree with Bernie, but disagree with Bill’s last statement. I often talk about faith, and it’s not stupid, because I do respect the beliefs of others. I have no problem even with Republican Supply-side pseudo-Christians leading their OWN lives as they see fit. What I do not respect is people who try to force their religious beliefs down MY throat.  Bill is behaving as disrespectfully as Republican Supply-side pseudo-Christians.

New Rule: A Bone to Pick with Undecided Voters

When I was in school, I was taught how to think and how to learn. I have never stopped learning because of that. Today we teach what to think and what to regurgitate for tests. Is it any wonder so many Americans are so ignorant?

  1. GWG – Yeah, no kidding.  (alternatively Grabbers Of Pussy.)

BSDB – Bernie certainly is correct – in fact, he generally is.  And of course, many people besides Bill have demonstrated that one doesn't need to be religious to practice religious discrimination.

NR – There is so much meat in this I can't even begin to start discussing it without wanting to cry and barf at the same time.

    Thanks, TC.

  2. Bill: All good vids.

NR: Spot on!! p.s. I'll take the lady in the pant suit too!

    Thanks, Tom.

  3. ALL of Bill's clips were SPOT ON! Are we doomed to the script of movies? Are we going to let our world devolve in to the movie ideas that are all too real, NOW!!!

I always watch Bill Maher because he IS the pulse of the every-day voters and can tell us just what they are going to do!!!

  4. The Great White Grope:  "There is one corroborating witness, Donald Trump."  He brags incessantly about his mistreatment of women, yet women are still definding him.  What is wrong with those women, are the so out of touch with reality that they don't get it?

Bernie Sanders and the Democratic Biopsy:  I think Kerry was right, the Dems need different talking points to relate to mainstream voters.   The Republicans have been courting the conservatives for years, quite successfully.  They also have demonized many of the rights we all want, and convinced their followers they are right.  I agree with you, lead your life as you see fit, but don't try to make others conform to your beliefs.

New Rule: I'll take the lady in the pants suit, too.  For the last thirty years our kids have been taught to "pass the test", and not much else.  My sister taught for 27  years.  She loved it at the beginning, hated it at the end because there was no longer room for any creativity or mental stimulation, she had to teach them to "pass the test"  so the school could get funded.

  5. Excellent videos.  I was putting that first one in my next OT but I won't now.

I agree with your last statement.  It is very similar to "give a man a fish and he eats for a day; teach a man to fish and he will always have food."

  6. Thanks for the Bill Maher videos, TomCat. Though the undertone of all of them was so serious they only got a smile from me here and there. Sometimes reality just won't become something to laugh about no matter how much humor you add to it. And I got the distinct feeling Bill wasn't in a funny mood himself. He was dead serious when he said that what worries him the most is that although Drumpf may not win the election America is left without half its people who wanted him too win.

That bleak reality needs to be acknowledged by the cold technocrat in a pants suit and her party and Bernie misses the point when he reiterates his campaign points about the 1% buying the elections. He is right about that, of course, no argument there. But it misses the point that at least 40% of Americans feel more drawn to "Republican" Drumpf than to Democratic Clinton.
I'm with Edie, and Kerry, on this: "the Dems need different talking points to relate to mainstream voters" and there are more areas to reach people than blaming the 1% and Wall Street for it. No matter how on the point that is and how right Bernie is, there are more things that worry the average American which should be addressed. Unfortunately Drumpf and the GOP, and even Gary Johnson, seem to have have a better nose for spotting those talking points than Democrats do and we can count ourselves lucky that the Republicans have no "better" candidate than Drumpf and that he's such a terrible individual/leader that he's completely blown their chances.

  7. Thanks all.  Hugs.  I will also take the woman in the pants suit!
