Fortunately I slept for eight hours on Thursday night and ten hours last night, because it’s an incredibly busy day.  This morning I cooked food, did dishes, restocked my pill caddy, changed our poll, and researched for todays articles.  I also collected all the raw data and prepared all the graphics and charts for September’s Monthly Report.  That report will be a day late on Monday, because tomorrow I have TomCat and apartment cleaning with Wendy.  Also, tomorrow is a holy day in the Church of the Ellipsoid Orb.  My Broncos are visiting the Buccaneers’  Sadly, the meditation won’t be televised here.  May the Holy Orb shine its blessed light on your team, unless they say "HAR!!"

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:29 (average 5:23).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube: Two from Bill Maher

I disagree with Bill. He called Johnson an idiot. I called him an imbecile.

If Trump’s mother had really reproduced with an ape, we would have gotten something far better than Trump!!

From Daily Kos: The state of Wisconsin is under a court order to provide credentials for people who don’t have the extensive documentation the state is requiring to get an approved ID for voting. Ari Berman has discovered that it’s not complying.

Legal experts say they’re extremely troubled by the state’s continued failure to fairly enforce the voter-ID law. “Wisconsin has promised the court that voters would be able to get an ID with whatever documents they have,” says Sean Young of the ACLU. “They’ve completely failed to live up to that promise.”

The state keeps frantically changing its procedures to mollify the courts, leading to even more confusion among voters. Last week the Walker Administration proposed issuing “voting purposes only” IDs that could not be used for anything else, like opening a bank account. “The Division of Motor Vehicles also wants the free IDs—born of voter-fraud fears – to be cheapened in quality, with some fraud protections removed,” the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.

“The more they change the procedures, the clearer it becomes that this has nothing to do with voter impersonation,” Young says. “The whole process has no meaning anymore. It’s just a pointless obstacle to the right to vote.”

Did you expect any different from the Fartfuhrer of Fitzwalkerstan?

From NY Times: Nine months after instructing Alabama’s probate judges to defy federal court orders on same-sex marriage, Roy S. Moore, the chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, was suspended on Friday for the remainder of his term for violating the state’s canon of judicial ethics.

It was the second time in his contentious career that Judge Moore, an outspoken conservative, was removed as chief justice, and it followed his most recent star turn in the nation’s culture wars.

The suspension was imposed by the state’s Court of the Judiciary, a nine-member body of selected judges, lawyers and others, which found Judge Moore guilty on six charges. While the court did not take him off the bench entirely, as it did in 2003 after he defied orders to remove a giant Ten Commandments monument from the state judicial building, it effectively ended his state judicial career. His term ends in 2019, and Judge Moore, 69, will be barred by law from running for a judicial position again because of his age.

Good riddance to bad rubbish!

  1. Yesterday in my "Friday Fun – Debate Tweets" post, Pat B commented about seeing someone describe Trump as "SuperLyin'FragileRacistWhineyBragAdocious"

Well, recenly I saw a poster using that w/ Trump as Mary Poppins that you might enjoy (sorry about the size)

And just a reminder that October is "Breast Cancer Awareness" month …

  2. 5:18 (5:33, must be new?) Very pretty.

I wish you all kinds of religious ecstasy tomorrow.

YouTube – I have to agree with Bill.  When I was in school, "moron" was mental retardation at mental ages 7-12, "imbecile" was 4-6, and "idiot" was 0-3.  Sarah has a better grasp of politics than most people, certainly better than Trump supporters and "Bernie Bros."  (I wonder what if his father had reproduced with an ape?  And what species of ape?  Oh, wait – either way it would have had to be an orangutan.)

DKos – Hey, Wisconsin – the slogan is JUST DO IT – not JUST DON"T DO IT.  You're doing it wrong.

NYTimes – Of course any sane court would remove Moore, but Alabama voters will likely vote him in again, which is what happened the last time.

Cartoon – From your mouth to God's ears!

  3. #1. Sarah is a gem. I love when she's on Bill's show.
    #2. Spot on, Bill.

DK: Ugh!! Smells like a violation of civil liberties, imho.

NYT: Thank the Lord he's out!

    Cartoon: Ain't this the truth??

Planning on early prayer session as we play at noon. I'm bummed out about JJ Watts being out for the season. Hope he gets well. Glad that you got some much needed rest! Relax, take care, and Thanks, Tom.

    *Thanks, Nameless! 🙂

  4. Youtube:  Every single person Trump hires to defend him on tv sounds either sophomoric or imbecilic.

DK:  I am not surprised, they do keep electing Walker.

NYT:  I am glad the Alabama Court of the Judiciary suspended him.  He should have been barred from the job the first round

Cartoon:  I really really hope we can..

  5. Puzzle — 3:28  This leaves me awe-struck . . . the autumn colours.

Youtube — I loves me some Sarah Silverman!  The "basket of senior deplorables" in the 2nd vid are just that . . . uh . . . know nothing deplorables.  Very scary that they could have some influence in government!

Daily Kos — "“The more they change the procedures, the clearer it becomes that this has nothing to do with voter impersonation,” Young says. “The whole process has no meaning anymore. It’s just a pointless obstacle to the right to vote.”"

Ain't that the truth!  It is so obvious.  Is this what Republicans call transparency?!

NY Times — Judge Roy Moore, don't let the door hit you where the good Lord split you!

    Cartoon — AMEN!!!!!

  6. ST #1- What, is he dumber than Dr. Ben?  Vote for him and you help Rumpy get to a place where the Republican congress appoints Trump as head honcho!  Uh oh, isn't that a Spanish/Mexican word?  Oh my, oh my!

ST#2- Rumpy surrogates?  This is what, like the 9th circle of Dante's hell?

DK- To say Scott Walker, and voter rights, in the same sentence (like this one) is a oxymoron!

NYT- Judge Moore, yes, it is amazing that he got to be back on the bench, ever!  I love the way Lynn put it!!!!!!!!!

  7. To stay away from the Cymbalta proved to be the right decision, TomCat: 8 and 10 hours of sleep. You must have been thankful for that when you had so much on your plate yesterday. I hope your "sleeping beauty spell" will return for the next few nights too. Nothing better than to ward of pain and itching than a good sleep.

YouTube: Sara Silverman is spot on: people vote for Drumpf because they're totally misinformed, but that's not the reason millennials are voting for Gary Johnson. They're voting for him because they don't want to vote for Hillary. Talking about negative (life) choices. And what's with the "Johnson is a such a nice guy" bit. Any one with view points like his is not a nice guy in my book, however friendly, or rather stoned, he comes across.
Bill Maher is spot on when he compares statements from Drumpf's spokeswoman Pierson to the question of the 100,000 dollar pyramid: "Things a mental patient says", only it's applicable to all the "surrogates". The idea that they could come anywhere near a position of any power if Drumpf gets elected is just to scary to contemplate.

DK: The ACLU apparently is still surprised by Wisconsin's refusal to comply with court orders and give people their voter IDs: " It’s just a pointless obstacle to the right to vote.” Really? Actually I'm more surprised by the ACLU's naivety than by the Walker administration stalling until the voting booths are closed.

NYT: Moore shouldn't be suspended for the remainder of his term, even though that comes down to "forever" as he's to old to return to the bench after that. This kind of leniency for a second offense sends the wrong signals; Moore should be struck off for not doing what he has sworn to do as a judge/Chief Justice: uphold the law of the United States, and should not be allowed to carry his title after he retires.

  8. Thasnks all!  Busy tired hugs!
