The day is going poorly so far. My A/C tubing came loose last night. I can’t see to fix it. If I could, I won’t fit in that corner. Building maintenance said they’ll come when they can, but are not sure when. Portland is now under an excessive heat warning through the weekend. In addition, today is a grocery delivery day. Late this afternoon, Wendy will be here for my care. I imagine I may be very stinky by then.
Maintenance arrived over two hours later. Even though the temperature was still under 70° outside, it was over 85° in here, because the sun had hit the brickwork and was superheating it. Fortunately, they were able to reconnect the exhaust hose.

She’s right!

Glad your AC got fixed as fast as it did, but two hours in sweltering heat is NO picnic! It seems your weather and our weather got mixed up, somehow! We are having highs in the 80's when we should be having LOWS in the high 80's!! And our LOWS are in the 60's! This is August in OK! We should be having highs in the triple digits!!! And the flooding so close to us, but we have NO rain, yet!!!

WHEW!!! Glad Maintenance got your AC up and running! I hear it's going to be in the 90s tomorrow in Portland.
I suppose you were "lucky" the maintenance guys were only two hours late and fixed the hose before you were well and truly boiled, TomCat. I just hope the A/C had enough power to get the temperature down before it got even hotter and Wendy had to leave you under a cold shower for half an hour to get your body temperature back to normal. Stay low and as cool as possible, please.

Today, I sat outside in the shade and it was quite enjoyable. The temperature only went up to 28 C (83 F) but for the next 4 days, temperatures are supposed to be around 33 C (92 F) and very humid. I may just head to the water park with a book and picnic lunch and find the shadiest spot to rest. It is beside the ocean inlet so there will be a breeze and cooler temps. Glad that maintenance was able to get your AC working again. Life would be a bitch w/o AC right now! Take care Puddy Tat!
