I’m running late, as Wendy just left.  She left both the TomCat and the Cat Box bright and shiny.  We feasted on Baby Back Ribs! I’m very tired as the hot sticky weather kept me up last night, but we have three days of cool weather before the heat returns.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 4:12 (average 5:48).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From Alternet: In an effort to bolster his policy platform, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump announced Friday a new 15-member economic advisory council that does not include a single woman.

Rump Dump measures women’s intellect in bra size, not IQ.

From Crooks and LiarsA somewhat important question that Julian Assange manages to completely dodge.

If Assange had ducked discussing his complicity with Putin and Trump any harder, he would have quacked.

From Raw Story: North Korea has accused Washington of planning a pre-emptive nuclear strike, after the US announced it would deploy its B-1 bomber in the Pacific for the first time in a decade.

That’s insane even for North Korea. Is there a new leader there named Kim Jong-Trump?

  1. 5:33  Well.  That was a lot of work for something I couldn't eat even if I did get there first.

AlterNet – Not much to say about this – so I'll take the opportunity to be picky and mention his announcement mis-used "comprised of."  It should have been "comprising."  "Comprise" is a verb which is essentially passive to begin with, meaning something like "to be composed of; to be made up of."  (So "composed of" would have worked – "comprised of," not so much.)

C&L – Oh, I thought I DID hear him quack.  But then I have never found myself able to trust him.  Never.

Raw Story – Dear North Korea, we take your point, but Donald Trump has not been elected.  Yet.  You probably don't want him to be.

Cartoon – Would that there was a hospital and a medical specialty which could get Republicans to pass anything.  Anything at all.

  2. AN: Doesn't surprise me in the least. I only pray that it doesn't go this far of him being President.

C&L: Bill asked a good question. Very obvious deflection there, and also dangerous. Quack, quack!!

RS: Good  Lord, he should be helping the millions of starving people of his own country, instead of worrying about what we're doing. Go nuclear on that, Jong Un.

    Cartoon: Typical comment of Repugs..LOL.

Sounds like you had a good day. A nap sounds good right about now too. Enjoy the rest of your day/evening, take care, and Thanks, Tom.

  3. Alternet: Someday, hopefully soon, we will not have the Donald to kick around.  His asininity is getting so damned boring!  He's like a bad joke that won't go away!

C and L: Assange is an ass, too?

    • Double-checked because I would have put TWO s's in "asininity"

BUT "Assange is an ass, too?" most assuredly deserves an EXCLAMATION POINTnot a question mark.

  4. Assange was quacking all the way home! Man, I watched that Friday night and wondered what all he had said that wasn't double-talk. He ran a marathon around Bill's questions and then had to ask him if he had given a million to Hillary trying to take the attention off of Bill's questions! Geez, that was tiring!

Rump Dump is trying to bolster his image by gathering big names to his side. That still doesn't mean he is for to serve as President of the United States!!! Ugh!!! He's guilding the lilly just bit too much!!!

  5. Glad you enjoyed your day.  We actually had low humidity here today, so sitting outside was nice.

Alternet:  Are any of us really surprised that he couldn't find one woman to put on this committee?  Your assessment of his idea of women is entirely correct.

Crooks and Liars:  Perhaps Asange is afraid Wickileaks won't be able to get info if Hillary is elected?  This really lowers my opinion of him.

Raw Story:  N. Korea may be the only country who has a leader crazier than Trump and Trey Gowdy.

Cartoon:  laughing still over this one, and sharing it.

Personal Note:  Cousin Kara, who fell off the cliff is in a private room and out of ICU.  She has all her mental faculties and is adjusting remarkable well for a 22 year old girl to having lost part of her leg.  We are all extremely happy for her.

My mother is in the hospital for the 4th time since April with dehydration, and symptoms of C-diff.  If I am missing, it is because I am at the hospital.

  6. Puzzle — 3:45  Good looking cake!  I'm sure it is heart smart, sugar free, gluten free and calorie free.

Alternet — I don't think PM Justin Trudeau and Drumpf will see eye-to-eye on much seeing as Trudeau made his cabinet balanced male/female, has immigrants, has minorities . . . oh, and he walks in PRIDE parades.

Crooks and Liars — Who's doing the interview, Assange or Maher?

Raw Story — Kim Jong-un would have something to worry about if Drumpf were in the WH.  But Obama?  Kim Jong-un is paranoid, really paranoid and spoiling for a fight.

    Cartoon — . . . nor anything else!

  7. Latest from Repugs, Rubio says that women with the Zika virus should NOT be allowed abortions!. unbelievable arrogance.

One thought,if this holds, then think of pool of Repug members of congress,in say 20 to 30 y.o  who would fit perfectly.. Also I do hope that his wife is NOT a victim!. would be the biter bit.I know that this is a sick thought, But he and others like him deserve it!

  8. Thanks all!  Hugs!!
