I am now 5 hours in to a nothing by mouth fast, and I am not a happy camper.  I leave for surgery in two hours.  I’ll keep you posted.

Today’s took me 3:43 (average 4:42).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

  1. 3:20  Well you don't have to worry about the terrifying effects of the Brugmansia because I whopped your Puddy Tat butt!

Cartoon — But the Republicans would not have liked Henry's daughters.  After sickly Edward VI ascended the throne for just over 6 years, his sisters Mary and then Elizabeth, one staunchly Catholic and the other fervently Protestant, ascended the throne.  I'd like to see a Republican deal with these two women, especially Elizabeth.  He'd turn tail like a cur.

Good luck with today's surgery.  Hopefully, after the initial pain of the actual surgery, the pain will be much less without the plaque.  Keeping those good thoughts and prayers rolling.

And a big THANKYOU to Julie for looking after you so well.

    • 3:42  You whopped my butt too.  That's what I get for staying away so long.

    • Republicans have so much trouble with one modern Elizabeth, I don't see them as eager to take on another one.  Mary, though – she was married to (and is said to have adored) Philip II of Spain, who was the secular face of the Spanish Inquisition.  They'd have liked that.  (I suspect she was also batsh*t crazy, but my only solid evidence is her false pregnancy.)

  2. Best to you, Tom, and sending prayers!!

  3. Hope your surgery is PAIN FREE, Brother!

  4. Best wishes on your surgery – probably in recovery by now.

(But don't get TOO familiar with that propofol anesthetic.  You know what it did to Michael Jackson!  I just had this past Tuesday for my EGD – esophagoscopy).

  5. Thanks all!  Hugs!!  The surgery was a big success, but when I returned home, the elevator was broken.  Getting me up to the third floor was a nightmare, and I'm exhausted.  More later.

    • Man … it just proves (Morton salt aside) "When It Rains, It Pours"

Maybe you should buy a Lottery Ticket.  With your string of unfortunate events, your Luck has GOT to change soon!

    • … BUT FANTASTIC News WRT the surgery success!!!

(See … your luck HAS changed!)

    • Ignore my comment below, I only just saw your name among the comments 🙂

Good to hear everything went well operation-wise. That elevator should be replaced, it's on the blink too often.

Now get some rest and tell us all about it tomorrow.

  6. 5:00 Pretty in pink.

I only fast when going to see hubby, and I take snacks for coming home.  Of course it's no fun, but getting to be with him helps.  Prayers for you, from the both of us, up till about 3 pm your time.  Glad to hear it was a BIG success.  The elevator is a BUMMER!

Add my thanks and love to everyone else's for Julie, for taking good care of you, and a skritch for Killer Dawg.

Not surprised Republicans emulate someone whose disposable attitude toward women was exacerbated by a head injury – and whose mood was always bad after a painful leg injury.  Too many tournaments!

  9. I hope everything went well, TomCat, and that you're convalescing quietly at home by now. Hope to hear soon how you're doing now.

Cartoon: What a strange idol. If Henry VIII had been able to keep his wife barefoot and pregnant (with boys) in the kitchen, the Republican way, he wouldn't have had to divorce or behead five of them.

  10. Thanks all!!  Hugs!!  See today's Open Thread.
