My ocular cancer surgeries are definitely scheduled for 6/20 and 6/24, so I'm swamped making arrangements and rescheduling other appointments.  Tomorrow, I go to PT with Courtney, so please expect no more than a Personal Update.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today's took me 3:04 (average 5:46).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From Daily Kos: This is the first Trump ad released by Priorities USA that gets very wide release nationally, it is being aired in Florida, Virginia, Ohio, Nevada, Colorado, Iowa and New Hampshire.   The ad goes at Trump for mocking disabled people, and it is a stunning ad.

Bingo!!

From Alternet: Stephen Colbert riffed on Trump's use of a teleprompter Wednesday night, a move that many were shocked by since Trump often has difficulty stringing actual sentences together.

He also uses a smelleprompter and a helleprompter.

From Daily Kos: We’re at the point of the primary where we can laugh at ourselves, right?

A wet bag of dawg shit would be an improvement over Rump Dump Trump!

  1. 5:33 (5:46)  Really quite lovely.

DKos – Of course I find this ad highly convincing, but then I was surprised that the referenced incident didn't sink his campaign right off the bat.  I hope we don't make it our entire strategy to show how little class Drumpf has (like NONE). because many of his suppporters LIKE that.  We don't want to be putting ads up against him that are actually for him.  And I'm sure the creators though tht disability would be something everyone can get behind.  WRONG.

AlterNet – Andy is writing for Stephen now?

DKos – A little time to grieve would be nice.  I will say President Obama, Robert Reich, and Joe Biden have all been quoted showing large amounts of class today.

Cartoon – Two of the worst kind of taxes to repeal.  Even so, I kind of think estate tax may be the more necessary of the two, and should be set at about zero up to a certain figure, and 100% above that.  After all, if the children of the poor can lift themselves by their bootstraps, surely the children of the rich, who, according to them, are all smarter and more capable than the children of the poor, should have no trouble at all.

  2. DK: The ad is spot on re: the Drumpf mocking the reporter, and disabled folks.
    AlterNet: Love Colbert!!

DK: "We will all come together". "Eventually." Sweet!!

Do hope and pray that your ocular cancer surgeries go well.Enjoy your evening, take care, and Thanks, Tom.

  3. The "House Divided" ad gave me a much-needed smile after the "Grace" ad made me a bit misty …

“When I saw Donald Trump mock someone with a disability, it showed me his soul. It showed me his heart.

    “And I didn’t like what I saw.”

  4. OMG! Why didn't I think to move my bird feeder over by my Bernie signs! Could it have made a difference? Probably not in my neighborhood as we all seem to favor him. I took them down this evening though I am indeed greaving. I'll get there. It's just going to take some time. I've been feelin' the Bern but I have no intentions of Burning it down. I'm leaving the sticker on my car though.

I'll be praying for you for success and a speedy recovery for your upcoming surgeries.

  5. Daily Kos:  I saw that ad yesterday, and anyone with a heart could not watch it and still vote for Trump!

    Alternet:  Cobert nails it!

DK" I liked this so much that I shared it on Facebook.  I have been aBernie supporter since Day 1/  But, I will vote Blue, no matter who.  We cannot afford to continue the divisiveness in our party, to do so will give Trump a chance to be President.

    Cartoon:  Did it actually end?

    Cartoon:

  6. Puzzle — 3:50  Not edible but if you decide to try, watch the sharp pieces Puddy Tat!

    Daily Kos — Bingo indeed!!!

Alternet — Amusing that Drumpf, who has, as I recall, denounced others for using a teleprompter, is himself using a teleprompter.

Daily Kos — Drumpf hails himself as the great unifier.  Let's hope he unifies Democrats againat Republicans.

    Vote blue no matter who!!!

Cartoon — And if a Republican were in the White House today, gift and estate taxes would still be gone!

I've put those dates on my calendar and will do Open Threads including the puzzles, as we discussed.  You'll have to work at not over compensating with your good eye, so if you want me to do more days, just ask.  Saying prayers.

  7. Derr Fuhrer Drumpf should talk about "handicaps". He suffers from being a narcissistic bigoted racist tyrant bully and really enjoys himself in that role and capacity. The only place suitable for him is in a mental hospital out of sight.

Drumpf is saying out loud all the while the GOP/TP gleefully wish they could do so but actually keep their thoughts in their number two hole and in their pants. No wonder they smell so bad. lol.
    .

  8. It only now dawned on me that the radiation chip is only going to stay in your eye for three days, TomCat. That's a really short span of time, which is easier to cope with and plan for, I hope. But a lot of planning and scheduling still needs to be done, so I wish you all the best with that. And don't let Courtney drive you too hard tomorrow.

DK:The way it was phrased, I first thought this was an ad made by Drumpf to glorify himself as future president, but I didn't see a barf bag alert, so I watched this excellent video and was glad of it. There should be an anti-Drumpf ad for every mockery he's made, but I guess there isn't enough money nor advertising slots to accommodate them all.

Alternet: Spot on there, Stephen Colbert. Of course Drumpf also used a teleprompter when he gave his speech about his foreign politics, but wasn't above telling the interviewer on CNN that Hillary had not given speech to tear at him because she used a teleprompter. There's no limit to his contempt for his voters; he thinks they haven't got a brain cell between them. Oh wait, if they vote for him they really don't.

DK: This ad was icing on the cake, TomCat! Yes, all Democrats should see this one, think, laugh about it and then unite in voting for a Democratic president. Then they'll have about two years to mid-term to quibble about how to reform the party into something progressive.

Cartoon: What went wrong in 2010? Let me guess: Republicans?
